You don't get it?OK then, the Z comes from the title of Dragonball Z, which this series is based off. The thing is that the Z in DBZ is actually supposed to stand for the last letter of the alphabet as in DBZ was supposed to be the last DragonBall series (DBGT wasn't created by Akira, he only supervised and created the character design) and the Z looks like a 2 so you could call DBZ even DB2.

So naming this awesome series SuperMarioBrosZ is like calling it SMB2 or the last Super Mario Bros game.
