@jlmacintosh To firebomberclipper: Did you ever find 'WHIRL AND TWIRL AND SWIRL' by VALDY? I have the 'LANDSCAPES' album that has it, if that's any help.
I have a request. I can't find my favorite Valdy song on u-tube. The song is "Whirl, Twirl, and Swirl" If you can help, it would be great. This dude's an icon of CDN folk.
@firebombclipper Never posted here before so I'm not good at putting things where they belong. I have the album that 'WHIRL AND TWIRL AND SWIRL' is on if that's any help
Hey, it wasn't only "Canadian folk music", it was also "Canadian Pop Music". Rock and Roll Song was one of my first and favorite songs (still is) and I wasn't into the folk scene at all. This song got a lot of radio play too. You know I'm a Valdy fan when I can sing the lyrics of the Dirty Old Man song, lol.
@cindyns 1 - Yes, that's true of the 80's Kenny Rogers sound, but he was more traditional along the lines of country/folk decades prior. I can just hear him doing this type of song.
i remember my grandpa use to say that song is depressing but in some ways true but i love that song i always remember Valdy from my parents he is a very unrated Canadian musican who should be more respected in my opinon. his songs were meaningful but not in a way that would make one feel like jumping off a 15 floor building thank you for posting this lovely song it is rare to hear such gems today

Hey thx! I appreciate when someone can update something I don't always know & others too!
My videos I make is because I think they're worth making, and when someone can add more to what I might know, well it's all worthwhile!
I myself saw Valdy in concert before the dirty old man & knew him too for Rock & roll song only.
I & others will be happy to know more too!
Thx
Luv & peace :)

@bobpeeweemusic OR maybe the other way round, i don't think Kenny Rogers is folk, he is more middle of the road easy listening E.G. Neil Diamond
