  • it shoul be spanish the mandatory language cause theres no a single place, a single business where you cant find a spanish speaking person

  • I think Chinese Mandarin should become one of the mandatory languages in the US to learn. It is the most spoken language in the world...topping English. Look it up!

  • Yep, lazy mother. I am 38 and doing very well with my chinese studies. I am teaching my two daughters.

  • sorry but the mother says she can't learn chinese, that's just laziness. if she tries hard enough, i bet she can learn it, but it's easier for young kids.

  • one word. CHIN CHIN. sorry i had to do it.

  • what a cute kid! they should make more, lol.

  • To MalcolmZiel: please. this video has nothing to do with her mother ugly or not. why attack people this way? she didn't say anything to offend any country or any person.

Anyway, I don't think the mother is ugly. She is not 18, please.

  • she is so cute. a little bit shy but confident.

  • Too bad the White mother is so ugly. Thank God her Eurasian daughter is so beautiful. I am a White guy who is going to marry a Chinese girl for sure!

  • Mandarin is one of the easiest languages anybody could learn. Not really that impressed...

  • You do not have to be young to learn, you just need to learn let go of your expectations and be patient. She is so cute and adorable like my cat.

  • She is chinese, look at her. .come on

  • @masajhn Her father may be Chinese by race, but if her father is some NZ-born chinese or some ABC who didn't learn his Chinese in schools or at home, he could still be chinese-illiterate. A lot of overseas chinese born in western c'tries or migrated there when there when they were very young could not speak, read or write Chinese. So he may be Chinese not knowing Chinese...get the joke? :-)

  • The statement about adults not being able to learn is really untrue.

  • We got to stop the perception that some people have that "Chinese is one of the most difficult languages to learn." Really, if you can speak English, you have the potential to learn Chinese. It's all up to the effort you are willing to give in learning a language, all the perceived obstacles are just in your own head.

  • @Graymoths Definitely possible to be bilingual/multi-lingual.The diff is whether one can be effectively bilingual which I think, for most, one language will still be more dominant than the other,no matter how early one starts learning both languages. But one thing is sure, starting early as a child is easier. But that's not to say it's impossible for adults to learn Mandarin, just more work- the brain is less "adaptable" as one grows older. All langs are difficult if it's not yr native lang.

  • That the little girl is starting at 6 means her ability to learn to speak Mandarin fluently is EXTREMELY high.

  • "Chinese" is "difficult" for english & european native speakers because english/european is a indo-european linguistic while "chinese" is a Sino-tibetan linguistic and the construction of the two lingual forms are so dramatically different from one another that it's extremely difficult for BOTH groups to pick up the others.......

  • @lukebccb Not really. Alot of Chinese people know how to speak English and I am not talking about those in Western countries. Although, there are only a few of Westerners who could speak Chinese. :P

  • 他媽的窗縫間透出

  • 她太可爱了

  • Hey lazy mom - you can learn Mandarin also! Get with it!

  • @weeb59 I thought so, too. even if she's not able to mimic an accent, she should seize the opportunity to pick up some chinese along side her daughter.

  • There is no difference between the difficulty of Chinese and Spanish. The only difference is it takes longer to learn Chinese because there is more to learn. It's laziness, not difficulty. Anyone could learn any language at any age. Adults who know how to learn languages learn them faster than children.

  • I really like how kids can pick up languages so easily. It is like a sponge.

  • Not true - if anyone can start learning English then anyone can start learning Chinese too, at any age. It just depends on how close your first language is to it, your effort and IQ that determines the difficulty for an individual..

  • I find that Japanese games like "final fantasy"'s female characters are not based on Japanese women but on mixed girls of asian and european origin. I think that produces the best "product", EVER !

  • Is the girl half Chinese?

  • chinese language is hard to learn yet it is easy to use. numbers are so easy to learn. days of the week and the months is so easy they can be memorized in one hour. I have been teaching myself chinese for 6 months and I can read and write more than I thought I would be able to at this point. I think the mind can make things harder than they actually are. all it takes is an intrest and actually spending the time to study. I am 29 and if I can learn chinese anyone can.

  • chinese language is hard to learn yet it is easy to use. totally agree

  • The fact that she mentioned that her daughter learned to count easily reminded me of something I read from Outliers about Asians being better at math not because of genetic factors but because of language; as Asian languages have "logical counting system compared to the irregular ways that numerals are spoken in English"

  • @Exult Counting in Chinese is the easiest thing I have ever learned. It's just extremely simple and logical.

  • lol maybe spanish is easier because of the letters when you read and spell. And what is the dad? the daughter looks a little asian to me.

  • when the chinese take over the world, boy will u be learning chinese, it will either be learn chinese or bamboo torture, your choice

  • Her father is Chinese. yay to Eurasians.

  • @lexxypexxy White fathers and Chinese mothers! Oh yeah! Yay to Eurasians!

  • They are actually learning the Simplified Chinese characters.

  • oh it's so nice that they are learning the traditional chinese characters but not the simplified one!

  • The chinese written language has evidence that it was derived from biblical Christian teaching. The character for forbidden consists of three symbols: tree (of knowledge), tree (of life) and command (from God). There are other similar occurances like this. More proof that the Christian God is the only reel God.

  • @Wanda4DecentValues

why everything has to be related to religion? oh lawd

  • i'm brazilian.. is it too hard for me to learn chinese ?

  • probably

  • kinda

  • Who? The mother is obviously white, and the daughter obviously isn't. Is there any question about that?

  • The daughter is Chinese? Lol..

  • at least the structure of Chinese syntax is similar to latin based languages like english and spanish (subject+verb+object.) it's a pain in the ass to learn japanese or jorean language where the syntax is subject+object+verb. reminds me of reverse polish notation.

  • Actually Chinese is more (subject+object+verb) Sometimes it's not, but most the time it is. Simple sentences can be sub+verb+obj. It's also considered a "pro drop" language(Pronoun drop) like Korean or Spanish, but they use words for "I, we. them, us, you (pl)" a lot for a pro drop language.

  • Modern Chinese is like that, particularly Cantonese and other southern Chinese languages, but Classical Chinese, Middle and Old Chinese actually has the SOV sentence structure as well as place holders like in Japanese (wa, ga, he, wo, etc.).

  • her mom...seems...like she's jealous of her daughter? wth.. or is it just me?

  • the mom is an idiot for not learning along with her daughter

  • True :]

  • 萬歲.....

  • Spoken Mandarin for adults I'd say is easier than French - I agree about the writing though

I like the way she said - hided - just like in Chinese you find no irregularity

  • 置身处于国外的华侨兄弟姐妹们加油

    咱们的母语不可遗忘

  • shes so cute!

  • I think it's better if you say, wo jiao ..... not wo de ming zi shi .... Saves time :D But good sentence :]

  • nin hao mandarin has a difficult letters

  • easy as hell mandarin is

    and im chinese lmao

  • Chinese really isn't hard, just tones that's hard. gamma is rather simple, no conjugation, almost no gender difference on nouns and verbs, and pronouns(all have the sound ta). But writing takes years of practice, but once you figured out how radicals work, it becomes much easier.

  • Chinese is only hard for native english speakers :| because, the intonations are by moods, unlike my native language, tagalog, has tones also :D

  • Smart kid. The mom's kind of depressing, somehow...

  • yeah, from what I can see, she feels like she's missed out or feels like her opportunities vastly limited in comparison to her daughter's... too bad she doesn't know much about manifestation, otherwise she wouldn't be depressing

  • I also notice that

  • nice story.

  • she look like shes half of chinese

  • yeah, weren't you paying attention? her dad is cantonese xD

  • she is :|

  • You don't have to be young to learn Chinese. I was 22 when I started and I am semi-fluent now. Of course, my situation is a little different than a mother in the United States. Conversational Chinese is not that difficult except for the tones.

  • hey me too... I started at 21 too! though I lack a large vocabulary, I can speak just fine... I can even read quite a bit and write a little, so yeah, physical age is not an issue, rather the self-perceived age of the mind

  • arabic is the hardest

  • yes, the grammer in arabic is supposedly dogged hard, even including conjugations based on gender (!!)

  • ^_^ cute kids
