  • The Jubilee sounds really really good ! It makes the difference and it's the soul of Bonamassa's sound !

  • very rich guy

  • That is one wicked looking Les Paul!!

  • Jubilee, on its own, any day of the week!!

  • shite

  • 7:30 is the best fuzz face sound

  • what is the name of the song in the intro??????????? wicked! what is it???

  • @brandonleespitler Blue and Evil!!

  • He moves like Bubbles from trailer park boys.

  • This guy is great, great personality, good sense of humour and topped with liquid awesome playing XD

  • 2:52 Looks like an old style bridge - "ABR" I think is what they were called

  • why did he taped the pedal knobs??

  • @LarryBmx1 To keep them from moving

  • @LarryBmx1 Paul Gilbert does this as well /end of pointless notification

  • @LarryBmx1 so nothing fucks with them

  • "It's just a very expensive channel switching amp system, that's the way I look at it"...thats always an excuse to buy another amp :-P

  • He´s awesome :D

  • Someone has been listening to a lot of Eric Johnson lately.

  • eric johnson copy!!!

  • @betozurdo ive seen him play live, he definately has his own style.

  • Well, if you're gonna sound like somebody, Eric Johnson is a great choice. . . .

  • i still cant see the candy blue from the lighting

  • one of the best blues guitar players of our days, but he sometimes looks like my accountent....

  • ok I know which tour bus to jack.

  • I think his playing's more Gary Moore

  • its interesting enough though because although in demonstrations he tends to sound VERY much like EJ i - of whom he is clearly at student to the point were he momentarily seems to loose his own originality - Live doing his own stuff its completely different and he is very much his own. Maybe he is just showcasing that style here for an effect or as an homage.

  • @whynottalklikeapirat I completely agree. Live, he is so much more blues based. Maybe he just likes the EJ style for these demos. But when I saw him live last month, I didn't hear a single one of these EJ licks.

  • Eric Johnson called and he wants his licks back.

  • I wuz thinkin' exactly that also

  • Thank you Joe.

    Woof!

  • Will someone please tell me the song/riff that is playing at the beginning before he starts actually playing those licks. I'm just getting in Joe and I think he really cool.

  • @TheJediRabbit It's Blue and Evil from one of Joe's more recent albums, Black Rock.

  • light les pauls are gross i wanna heavy big neck bad ass classic les paul

  • great equipament !!!

  • Please tell me his peddle dials are tapped so they don't get turned while setting up or breaking down and not so people cant see where they are set. I like Joe, but he comes off as someone that would do that. LOL

  • @Snakelings

yes it's done so they dont turn...he said it during an interview once

personally i don't think he's one of those people who would do that considering he does like a million rig rundowns showing all his equipment..

  • 6:58 sounds very much like clapton when he was with Cream

  • What is the intro and outro song called?

  • whats the song in the intro?

  • He's getting really good at these rig demos

  • what is the song at the start of the video cause it pwns all

  • @reyrey9001 Blue and Evil

  • See how when first fired up the fuzz face is smooth and a little articulate but as he rolls off the volume of the guitar it comes to life and really opens up and then its SUPER articulate. I probably would NOT run this pedal if I didn't run 2 distorted amps and 1 clean. My Ampeg Gemini for small shows will get cranked with a H and K tube factor run through it and NOW my other side is a Tweaker 15/40 and I have a marshall if it comes to it/ Either of those amps run the Fuzz face. Sounds amazing.

  • I would not surpass the fact that Joe really sound a lot like Gary Moore too

  • With his style and tone, he's like Eric Johnson's wife :D

  • He looks like Gary Elwes in Robin Hood Men In Tights to me........lol.

  • the more I hear him and johnson, the more I NEED that fuzz face in my life...

  • This guy is so great he's so down to earth! First heard one of his songs on internet radio station the guy is the Bomb!

  • the song is called "Blue and Evil" by legend truly Joe Bonamassa. Shazam for the fuckin winn!!

  • wut is the opening song pleaseee

  • @KabCGuitar Blue and Evil by Mr. Bonamassa.

  • i must know what the opening song is...

  • @MrShredhead777 It's called Blue and Evil, by Joe Bonamassa, off his album Black Rock.

    Happy hunting :)

  • cuesto es un parlattore

  • I think that Jubilee sounded the best of the four!

  • I love that guy when he taks about gear, he goes berserk and just tells you everything hahah

  • Those cabinets Joe's using, are open or closed in the back??? Does anyone knows?

  • I saw that same silver jubilee in my guitarcenter today! i wish i wouldve asked o plug into it i will nex time

  • he reminds me of jason segel... i don't know why

  • Sounds like a cokehead

  • A "very simple" rig? I'd hate to see a complicated one! lol ;)

  • what is the song at the begging of the video?

  • @ECShugartmusic Blue and Evil off of his Album Black Rock

  • That's one sweet sounding *** $400 *** Marshall Jubilee!

But then, I am sure Joe can make anything sound sweet :)

  • @RickenVoxster He Could Plug into a Brick Wall and sound better than alot of people lol

  • The Category 5 amp is Killer. I use several Cat 5's -- the most incredible amps I've found yet.

  • The Category 5 amp is Killer. I use several Cat 5's -- the most incredible amps I've found yet.

  • I can get all that on my Gt-10! Only joking, JB is obviously awesome, I just love at the end when he says you're gonna tell me it sounds the same but it feels different to me... spoken like a true guitar nerd and star.

  • "Please take care of it, and if you abuse it I will come and adopt it back" XD

    Who doesn't love Joe !

  • Cleanest guitar playing I've ever heard.

  • No clean tone?

  • I can see why he likes that Marshall - he's got it about 5db louder than all the others....lol. Sounds great tho. You don't see many of those Jubilee heads around the traps.

  • vote up if you want that fuzzface!!!!!

  • @M3TALH3AD923 what is so special about that fuzz face??

  • @stratocasterfranck The JBF3 were specially designed by George Tripps and Joe Bonamassa, Hand built, and Hand wired and the reason they put them out is they found a good size ration of the NOS russian Germanium transistors somewhere, probably some businesses storage units that lost them or something but they are the real deal. Had mine about 3 or 4 days now and I LOVE IT. Now with that said the average guitar player would probably not like it at all. It can be dark and not like you think.

  • @stratocasterfranck You hear it here and it sounds bright and full and rippin. Thats because he built it to go hand in hand with a mid gainey tube amp. It itself (fuzzface) Doesn't have a ton of fuzz or a ton of volume but it is buttery smooth tone from top to bottom. I run a multi amp rig anyway and have for years and this was what I was missing from my dirty side. On a clean amp it is pretty bland, on a well overdriven tube amp THATS EQ'D in the same ballpark..Words can't explain the sustain.

  • @M3TALH3AD923 I hate fuzz haha

  • I've noticed that Bonamassa sounds like Eric Johnson mostly when he's doing gear demos. He doesn't sound like that to me when playing during one of his shows.

  • Time to shave off that comb-over Joe!

  • His playing reminds me of Eric Johnson!

  • @diehard93 right but he's more rock than eric johnson

  • @diehard93

I was thinking the same thing.

  • @diehard93 He admits being heavily influenced by Eric Johnson. Listen to Django on his You and Me album...

  • @diehard93 that's why I can't listen to him....

  • @diehard93 i know!!! his voicing's are like eric so much yet hes a little more shredy . love both of them

  • @celula00959 Oh yes, there are two of the most talented and tasteful guitarists! :)

  • @diehard93 Oh Yes, Erick Johnson

  • @diehard93 is whole playing is based on Eric Techniques

  • @diehard93 - Whoa... easy! They'll come after you for stating the obvious. And deny it all.

  • @diehard93 don't insult Joe that way....

  • Saw him last night in Reading Pa. Absolutely stunning performance. I think this current tour with Joe and his band will go down in rock history as the greatest Rock/Blues tour ever. Best concert I've ever been too. And, I've seen them all. If you get a chance to see him don't miss it. It's history in the making.

  • 3 People dont like Good Tone!

  • @02ajack 1 person is tired of seeing stupid comments like that.

  • Its really sad that hes not as popular as he is in Europe in America because he is really amazing. I just saw him live last week and it was the most amazing thing evar!!!! I love guitar and Joe Bonamassa's my favorite guitarist!! He ROCKS!!

  • Did Joe say, "non-wound" strings? So they have no nickle rap on them?

  • @PIlotrcm he means only for g b and e string , is you watch carefully you can see a diferent color saddle on those strings , i thought the same too :) hope it helps

  • That fuzz face sounds noice!

  • SICK AMPS!!!!!!!!!!

  • Funny how the guitar looks like it changes colour. He says its candy apple blue, but it looks like green sometimes and other times it sorta looks black.

  • Boy, He's gotten VERY EJ-ish

  • Great player and seems like a fun guy to hang with.

  • Hey any one know if the Epiphone J Bonamassa guitar is worth buying. It has the same pickups as the guitar on this video. Please anyone I wanna buy one, Thanks

  • wats the song thats playing in the first 30 seconds of this video? its very catchy :)

  • @epeemstr Blue and Evil..on the Black rock album..if im not mistaken

  • what a great vibrato!! to me, it sounds exactly like claptons vibrato like on crossroads and that period... ahhhhh..... wonderful

  • I was lucky enough to be able to hang wth joe when he was in okc. one of my students brought me to his show vip(i dont know how) and at the after party we started talkin.. about guitars. he is a really cool guys

  • Thanks for your support guys- please visit our channel!

  • No one can just have a, 1) Guitar 2) Pedal Board 3) Amp, What's up with 4 different amps. I can see having a clean amp and a dirty amp, but come on, just plug in and play.P.S. He is a GREAT plyayer!!!GO JOE...

  • @beannie60 - He plays a lot of different guitars in a show so each of them works best with different Amp combos. Also some Amps 'clean up' better than others so for songs with quiet dynamics you use the one(s) that sound best with a clean tone or when you roll off the volume on the guitar. Unfortunately great tone doesn't come straight out of the box - if you take iconic sounds like Van Halen's 'brown' sound that involved rewiring the amp or Robin Trowers sound was down to custom pedals..

  • god whats the name of tht opening song

  • @MrLash1143 Blue and Evil

  • I really like this guy.. but the Eric Johnson sound ripoff gets old.. Still love the guy

  • The video was well done. Joe was mainly sharp and to the point. Never heard of him before, but I'm now a new fan. Bonamassa rocks well.

  • been playing guitar for about 3 years now but im fairly new to the world of effects - could anyone tell me wht type of foot pedal he's using to change wht amps are on. And how does he plug 4 amp heads in to 2 cabinets?? Thanks. JB's awesome :D

  • @thecosmicstring Joe uses a Whirlwind A/B, with one out going to the Jubilee, and the other out going to the Lehle 1@3 to switch between the other three amps. Each 4x12 cabinet is split vertically into 2 2x12 cabinets, so each head is running through 2 of the 4 speakers of the cabinet

  • @UberNoobtard Thanks for getting back to me :) so you can plug one head into two speakers? Then how do you plug all 4 in? Are there multiple sockets on the speakers? And if he uses one whirlwind for a and b, how does he change between the other two heads (theoretically, c and d)? Thanks

  • @thecosmicstring Each of the four heads is plugged into one of the four vertical pairs of speakers. Each vertical pair on his cabinets have separate inputs. With the switching, side A on the Whirlwind goes directly to the Jubilee, and side B goes to the input of the Lehle. The Whirlwind is always on A+B mode. The Lehle's three outputs go to the other three amps, and it is A/B/C (only one output, not multiple, can be selected at a time)

  • @UberNoobtard Oh got it now....cheers dude :D

  • @thezepp68 me clearly, what a stupid question

  • when he first started playing i just heard eric johnson

  • Is it me or do I hear a little Eric Johnson in his tone?

  • @diogomor there's another video where he admits to trying to sound like Eric Johnson sometimes, lol. Still a fantastic player, absolutely love that sound (whether its from Joe or Eric)

  • why doesnt he just tell us the dimensions of the neck instead of being all pretentious and know-it-all like telling us its like guitars that werent even from his generation!

  • @vheadfacelegs

he IS a know-it-all. he's the best in the world at the moment so you just sit and listen.

  • @vheadfacelegs dude NOBODY USES DIMENTIONS TO DISCRIBE LES PAULS! Im a freshman and i know what kind of necks hes talking about! idiot.

  • I think Joe is just great, he's a consummate player, yet one of the most humble and grounded cats out there - a true virtuouso.

  • He should change his name to Eric Bonamassa, he sounds just like Johnson and Clapton blended lol

  • that cat 5 amp sounds awesome!!!

  • hey guys, thanks so much for your support. Please go to the Official Joe Bonamassa YouTube Channel and subscribe!

  • He is playing very eric johnson type riffs in this video

  • @holleyab I agree

  • "And I will come" Please do Joe. You're a fucking ledge.

  • Comment removed

  • His playing here reminds me Eric Johnson

  • 7:32 - 7:38 came in my pants

  • joe stop stealing eric johnsons tone lol jk

  • something tells me this guy has an expensive cocaine addiction.

  • @thricegod1288 fail..if he was addicted to cocaine he wouldnt be able to afford that rig

  • i would mistreat a jb les paul just to have him come to my house!

  • I caught a concert on Palladia and loved it, I rarely see a modern player I like so much. The Marshall Silver Jubilee is Slash's favorite also.

  • I do believe i would make love to that jubilee.

  • He's like the Eric Johnson of the blues.

  • Apparently one Metallica Fan saw this video.

  • @ibanezman007 Dude i love metallica but joe rawks!! :D

  • If I closed my eyes I would've sworn that was Eric Johnson...

  • Woa, he sounds very Eric Johnsony in this vid.

  • How can anything be "candy Apple BLUE"???

  • he said bumblebee..... lol, if only gibson put real ones in their guitars, that really dissapoints me lol. great video

  • Yep, the silver jubilee definately sounded the best in my opinion.

  • Joe makes a statement toward the end of this video say that views would say it all sounds the same. I guess its because experienced but i can tell a huge difference.

  • @replay678 Blue and Evil off his newest album Black Rock. :)

  • Whoa, shitty, shitty, shitty tone.

Too bad because the progression was pretty nice.

  • @Ghostman7777 its just the fact that his amps are so loud and it makes it sound shitty

  • @Ghostman7777- It's A- the camera compression, and B- he's keeping it down a bit because he's playing for the magazine. I saw him live, and his live tone was amazing. It's like this crazy, dark but kinda sparkly, syrupy tone. Trust me see him live, it's awesome.

  • @superlou1s

Yeah, I saw him play recently in Springfield, it blew my mind. This guy is crazy.

I am mainly used to going to metal acts such as Metallica, Megadeth, etc. and I thought they had a good live sound, but man, Joe's sound had such an awesome feel to it.

Sure there was no head banging/moshing/beating eachother senseless, but it was still a great experience. :)

  • @ForumAddiction bleu&evil :)

  • haha he sounds like John C. Reilly the guy who plays dale from stepbrothers.

  • Joe Bonamassa is a robot...

  • Its not about his looks I love many ugly dudes as guitar hero look at SRV, this guy is like Matchbox 20 but in blues, its all hype. There are a million great blues guys, trust me this dooche aint it

  • @mandaltby wtf? first...ur saying that SRV is ugly? second ur saying joe is the matchbox 20 of blues? are u outa ur fuckin mind

  • whats the begining song?

  • Nice informative video. Thanks for posting this.

  • pasty ass chubby white boy, a very sorry page in music history

  • @mandaltby you're just an idiot...lol, he lost a lot of weight too by the way.

  • This is a great interview / gear walkthrough and I've found it to be very informative and interesting. I'm only left wondering what, if any, effects from the pedalboard were used on the Marshal Silver Jubilee.

  • @texaswyatt0 the DD3 is the only effect on the Silver Jubilee.

  • What is the song this video begins with?! I'm dying to know

  • @fakestrat57 Blue and Evil.

  • Not really digging the candy apple blue, but anything joe plays or touches is cool.

  • Technically speaking, probably the best guitarist I've ever seen. I've been to a dozen shows and I honestly can say, I've never heard Joe make a mistake. If you can see him at a guitar clinic with an acoustic guitar in his hands, you'll leave with your lower jaw scraping the floor!......Roy

  • @Blues71 Seen him 6 times and I've never seen him make a mistake. RAH was a precursor. Crossroads saturday will put joe over the top.

  • @BigDDe Well, RAH may have been a "precursor" as you said, but I was there in London sitting in the first row and it sure was one heck of a special night. Then Joe introduced Clapton and that pretty much put it over the top. That is, until he and his family came to a private party that I was at that was thrown in his honor after the show. That really was a great time! :)
