Dude I got my first jag just over a year ago, its awesome! Me always being a fan of them I was pretty impressed when I first got it. I had to pay well over 50 dollars for mine so for you to be able to get it at that price I think its definitly a bargain. It ships with cybermorph and its a great game that will keep you going for a while. Have fun with it, but for fifty dollars, I would go for the Jag. Take care.

If you can get Aliens Vs Predator on the Jag, then you will love it. The FPS is low, but the game is excellent, scary and takes a long time to finish. Also Tempest 2000 is the nuts !!
However, I am just getting into Mario. Missed that on the 1st time round in 1993 when I was fully on board with my Atari!

Get a Jaguar, seriously. If money is the issue, as you say, Wii will be real cheap in a year or so once demand slackens and by then it should have a better games catalogue too. Jaguar has been going up in price recently on ebay so now would be a good time to buy. Also, think how cheaply you'll be able to pick up most of Jaguar's top games of ebay relative to the cost of Wii games in the stores. By the way, I own both consoles so please don't interpret my advice as being biased in any way.
I bought a brand new Jaguar for $60 a while back on eBay, so I find it hard to believe that it's going for $250 now. You might actually be thinking of the Jaguar CD, and you don't need that to play Wolfenstein 3D. Since Jaguar is so inexpensive, it might be the way to go. I own a Wii, and it's great for old-school games (Virtual Console), but the actual Wii-exclusive games are pretty lacking in terms of quality, in my opinion.

You should probably get the Jaguar since it is the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that you get to have a Jaguar for 50 bucks so you should take advantage of this situation.
hmm.. thats actually kinda tough seeing the cicumstances. The jaguar if going for $50 and they can be expencive as there quite old now.. so would only get harder and harder to find them later on. The wii which i have and love.. will only get cheaper and better deals later on. If you can get both that be great. maybe dont get any games for wii.. and with that money get jaguar.. wii sports alone is fun :) and save up for smash bros if possible. tough one!

If not, I'd get a Jag, but that's because I love mine and have spent a lot of money on it ;)
In any case, if you get a jag, I might have a few duplicates I could sell you for dirt cheap - as well as a composite or s-video cable you'll NEED :)

Just keep watching eBay for a Jaguar. You can get one with some good games for $50-75 total.
