I don't like American Vogue as well. They keep on featuring boring celebrities.
Italian & French Vogue were my faves.
I love Grace Coddington as well. & in case she's chosen to replace Anna I will be thrilled. I know that she also didn't like celebrities taking over the fashion world.
This documentary is superficial and cheap. Was hoping to hear more about the process of how she works, what does it mean to be a stylist, what inspires her, how did she get to where she is. I mean, this is just like a really long segment of Entertainment Tonight, everybody just saying how great she is... Disappointing.
carine's the best!!! she's a very strong woman, she knows what she wants and she have no complex about being different and run the magazine the way she as been doing. and im pretty sure, french vogue is the best of all. very artistic, very complete, strong... is like a whole character!! vogue usa.. is all about actresses publicity and sell sell sell... thats not what fashion is. thats why carine is so amazing, she respects fashion, she loves fashion... she lives for this. and... she so sweet*
Carine could totally do U.S vogue and shoot some life into it. Emanuelle Alt could step up to edit Paris Vogue. They both would be amazing if it happened.
lol. ok. the french accent threw me off a little. at first, i was like what?! how could she say that to cnn, it will be awkward between the two when ti aired. lol...
@gemifredricko i totally agree with you. i think french vogue is what ppl need about "french vogue" and usa's is all about merchandise and publicity because is what they need. tho i love french vogue and carine... for me, is what fashion really means nowadays.
I just can't wait for Anna to retire. American Vogue is starting to suck and they need someone like Carine. It's sad that she won't take the job but French Vogue would not be the same with out her.
Carine is great, she's a great stylist, her work is always edgy and pushing the envelope. It's amazing to she the transformation of French Vogue since she was apointed a the editor-in-chief. She revamp the magazine, just like Ford did with Gucci and YSL, or Tisci with Givenchy. That edgy part of her is what makes her different from other Vogue editora, and also makes French Vogue stand out from the rest of their pals, I also like Italian Vogue and Franca Sozzanni.
For some reason, I think Grace Coddington will replace Anna Wintour. I love Grace's fashion editorial's and her styling. However I wish an American would take over, another British taking over American Vogue? Have Americans lost their fashion sensibility?
Imagine if Carine replaced Anna. I don't think that Carine wouldn't be 'Carine' anymore since I have a feeling that a lot of creativity would have to be repressed & toned down for the American masses. I appreciate where Carine is at; discreetly and immensely influential.
but i heard aliona will be next in line to replace anna...the russian EIC's style is closer to anna than carine (magazine styling, i mean)...so if anyone can successfully take over anna, it may be aliona...
i thought the same when she said " did you understand ? " i want to know now Lol , they interviewed her in her home at one point , when she has the tom ford book out on the table and when shes on about patrick living in new york
they wouldnt be able to appreciate her elegance and just how chic she is , she doesnt do 'celebrity' she does FASHION and thats why Paris Vogue is the Fashion bible
Thanks for posting!! I was pissed when I found out I missed this last night!! I love Carine!! I wish she would take over for US Vogue, I'm so sick of celebrities on the cover. US Vogue may sell a lot of copies but it has lost it's artistic talent. I enjoy French & British Vogue a lot more.
