This was made back in the days of rage in the 60's when cities were being burned down and radical blacks were demanding rights and denouncing racism. The Smothers Brothers and Laugh In were big on TV. All in the Family soon appeared.

Wow...I heard about this. I'm an 80s kid, and for the life of me, I don't know how I never saw this. I remember a teacher telling us about in when I was in the 8th or 9th grade (late 80s). I was a military brat overseas, but of course we had VCRs. This is 40 years old, and but you wouldn't necessarily know that if you visit some of the on-line discussion boards. I have to admit that I was almost shocked to hear the Cos use the N-Word, but I guess that was the point!
