17HMR interesting, I am more of a 22 hornet gun because I can reload them. Feral Pigs have become a huge problem in Texas and in other states as well. We are lucky in CT but my guess we will be seeing the problem too in another decade. They are in NY now.

Pigs are an invasive species in North America. They are the top cause of sea turtle nest destruction on the East coast. They kill native species, destroy crops, pollute water, and cause erosion.

Sounds as though the pigs killed here will be used for food. Their deaths here are much more humane than those that happen in slaughterhouses just so we can enjoy bacon, pork chops, sausage, etc. If you consume any pork product but are offended by what you see here, then you are a hypocrite! But 2 things: why the hell are you shooting them with a .17mhr? Do you not own a larger caliber rifle or something? Shoot them with a .30-30 or even a friggin .357mag - much more humane.
Secondly, why shoot the sow first? Even if your goal is to get rid of pigs, the little ones will probably starve to death rather than getting shot humanely.

Pigs are an invasive species in North America. They are the top cause of sea turtle nest destruction on the East coast. They kill native species, destroy crops, pollute water, and cause erosion.
Kill them any way you can. Call it hunting, call it extermination. Eat them, or leae them to rot. Killing them helps our ecosystem.

Sounds as though the pigs killed here will be used for food. this is not too graphic for tv. this shows a real bad problem in the southern states of the US and what needs to done about it. maybe people with soft stomachs or animal lovers shouldn't watch hunting shows. controlling hogs is absolutely necessary because they are not native and destroy great looking land in weeks if not days. The wild pig population is out of control.There is no problem with this at all. They provide good food for little effort.The decimate pasture for cattle. They even attack livestock and will eat them. he didnt make them suffer at all. I'm fine with you hunting as many pigs as you want.
But 2 things: why the hell are you shooting them with a .17mhr? Do you not own a larger caliber rifle or something? Shoot them with a .30-30 or even a friggin .357mag - much more humane.
Secondly, why shoot the sow first? Even if your goal is to get rid of pigs, the little ones will probably starve to death rather than getting shot humanely.
You did not get the 'whole family' you got 4 out of 6 or 7 of the little ones... that's messed up man
