  • Good Lord.!!!!.She sang this song so heaven could feel it.!!!!!.

  • OOOHWEEE!!! We just need to clean out our own houses and pray for each other, and ourselves! We have a long way to go, further than Aretha and she has covered some serious grounds we may never see and she is still going. Let us pray for her while we make the necesaary changes in our lives we can ASAP! Love and Touch someone's heart! That is what Aretha does. She touches people's hearts! Peace and Love!!

  • She is a Voice Made in Heaven and she will forever be the Queen of Soul and the Inspiration of my Youth back in the 60's!!!

  • "LISTEN at her!"

  • Maybe Elvis can compete with Aretha singing Gospel

Man, that s a tough choice

    Aretha is so good

  • @bkeay100 the only one that can beat aretha was her teacher.CLARA WARD.

  • @masterpatric07

I am not familiar with Clara Ward, but I will be......Aretha was pretty good though....Elvis was pretty good too...

There ain t no music like Good Gospel Music, except for The Opera

  • @bkeay100 yes , i love gospel, not so much opera, but there are master pieces in operas.I suggest you to listen

RIKIDUM.L isten to PAUL WILBUR.IT IS HEBREW MUSIC GENRE.

  • CLICK ON: disccentury, GOSPEL MUSIC, NEVER SEEN

  • That recording always brings me to tears. I need the Lord to take my hand and and lead me on home. Thank ya Lord!

  • Yes she bad . she never sounded like a child. just like me . oh how I would love to sing with her, I have always sang her sonf's in my dad church at age 7. and I never had a child voice either. . and she was very pretty to my opinion. Love you Aretha. I wish Operq had her show now have me meet her and I will sing with her on tv.

  • fab

  • Wow re re was the precious age of 14 when she sung this!!! I'm at a lost for words cuz this girl was bad!!!!!

  • No words can describe the way I feel when I hear this blessed woman sing! She is and always will be, the best in the world!!!! These singers today have nothing on this legend!!!!

  • whos yelling in the backround HAHA

  • @LotsOfMusicInMyMind It's called "feeling the spirit" or "catching the Holy Ghost" lol

  • well i can maybe understand the voice at 14, but where'd all that emotion come from?

  • Amazing. I have never had a chance to hear this before. She was 14? Listen to that voice!

  • thanks for this posting...made me feel better....

  • Re, please, please go back to singing the gospel songs of this era. This worldly gospel of today is what James 4:4 talks about. Return to what the Lord blessed you with the (then) blessed voice. Repent and return and maybe the Good Lord wil give you what Prov. 3.7 speaks of, "Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil, It will be health (medicine) to your flesh and strength to your bones. You can play a instrumental role (if) you repent and return to what Jeremiah 6:16

  • @truth1disciple i needed that

  • Wow this is amazing and just made me think of something. If you go look at FANTASIA song on here when she was singing a GOSPEL song around this age they have alot of similarities. They sound so much alike.

  • AMAZING at 14 yrs old.....

  • This is TRUE GOSPEL! NOT STUDIO MUSIC BUT GOD'S LOVE FROM HER SOUL. Thanx for this BLESSING. Got ME in my ROOM HAVING PRAISE AND WORSHIP.. For those of you that don't know what i'm talking about...... I'M HAVING CHRUCH. IN JESUS NAME!!!!

  • This is TRUE GOSPEL! NOT STUDIO MUSIC BUT GOD'S LOVE FROM HER SOUL. Thanx for this BLESSING.

  • the good lord put something SPECIAL in this individual. how many 14 year olds sound like this. SIMPLY AMAZING!

  • The song is Precious Lord by Thomas Dorsey. There's an amazing story behind this song; very moving. You could probably do a search and find it.

  • To be there on the day she sang not knowing who she was and certainly not expecting that sound to come from that 14 year old girl. Who wouldn't leave the church believing.

  • please check the video response, i made a hip hop instrumental out of this.

  • @ispitthetruth no one wants to see a hip hop video about this song. that is the problem in a nut shell. black folks don't want to get back to their roots anymore. it is as if we are ashamed of our roots.

  • @alexalot23 im sorry if you dont like it, but my subscribers do

  • Of course she's the best there ever was and I think she was a beautiful young woman back in her time. As far as I'm concerned she HAD it ALL. Looking and listening to those old films of her, I still have a crush on that lady. Amazing.

  • Can you tell the name of the song for my mother?

  • this is priceless, thanks for posting!

  • I wish people would please Stop trying to compare other singers to Aretha....because Aretha is in a class all by herself.....she is a rare talent. Celine,Whitney,Clark Sisters and countless others studied Aretha....not the other way around so get it right yall. Aretha is the singest woman ever born....this woman just tears right into the soul of a person. She is just the best. Aretha takes you to true church.....the way we used to do it before we got too cute for GOD.

  • @READY4REVELATION u should listen to bessie smith.

  • @READY4REVELATION Oh Yes! Oh Yes You Have Said It Just Like It TIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Much Respect!

  • This is Amazing vocals by aretha at age 14..you can tell she knows what she is singing about.

  • where can one get this please?

  • Chills running up my arm. GOD smiled on this one. GOD has a home for us in Heaven if we except Jesus as our savior and love GOD as our only GOD. Aretha, when we get to Heaven all will be silent to hear you sing.

  • muito lindooooooo

  • I respect ALL artist out there with the talent and commitment to see their dreams through. It is true that many of the artist of today need the entire package put together to be a big success. It should come as no surprise, because this is society in general. Good looks are simply more pleasing and acceptable to look at. That's always been true, if truuth be told. But I do agree with many that we won't see nearly half of the talented singers in this world because they do not have the looks.

  • God bless you mother Aretha. The Lord don't want you yet. <3

  • PRAISE THE LORD!!

  • Are you sure she is only 14 here - just that shes got that strong raspy kind of sound here - she never developed that till later - Arethas younger voice was extremely high - and powerful (I know its always been powerful - but her younger voice she could hit notes divas of today dream of hitting)

(this sounds more like when her voice started to deepen - around 25-29)

  • She don't sound 14 at all. Thats what my generation needs today. She sound so good.

  • always will be my best soul singer I wish so bad to sing like she does

  • sing queen

  • amen amen i cant wait to get older i think imma sing like my grandma i wish i could pst my grandma song up

  • Is the Great.

  • Is the Great

  • Sing Girl! Sing it!!!!!

  • Imagine singing like that at 14 years old! Man oh Man. She sounded soo mature as if she had been singing for 20 or 30 years. Absolutely incredible!

  • @a1d2h LOL dont be so harsh.

  • i have always loved Retha! She has tremendous talent!

  • Amazing! We are blessed to live in the time of Aretha!

  • Her voice is CRAZY!!!!! Truly amazing!!!!

  • She was vocally superior and full of soul.

  • Whew!!! I had my eyes closed as I listened to this and caught the HOLY GHOST up in here!! Aretha has the gift of that voice that just moves you!! If this song was ever done better, please tell me by whom!

  • @romanson66 - Arethas one of those rare vocalists (and I can only think of 4 - Aretha, Whitney, Mariah and Celine).

If any of these Divas sang the song first - any other singer would be damn fool to even try and give it a go - unless it were in the privacy of their own home with only their own ears to hear it.

  • 14? you betta SANG Aretha gworl! YAAAAS LAWD!

  • The Creator blesses everyone of his children with a gift to share with the world. Thank you, God, for Ms Franklin and all of angels with her lifting spirit. I pray for her recovery from cancer.

  • Good girl, well done my dear child. That is what the Lord, Almighty will say to Aretha on that glorious day when she returns home!

  • @ a1d2h......Jennifer isn't suppose too......Jennifer is Jennifer and Aretha is Aretha....Two totally different worlds!!!! There will never be another Aretha! God Bless her!!!!

  • this lady aint got soul SHE IS SOUL god bless

  • $1000 to anybody who can do that run she starts at 5:28 without practicing and practicing for 6 weeks.

  • And this isn't even a funeral.

  • Staggering. Every time I hear this I am left...Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Aretha, and we say thank you for sharing with us the blessing of your voice

  • Aretha sent her timber up as a youth and believe me she will reap the good seeds she sowed.

  • there can never be another one with a voice likes hers. She can raise the dead! Sing Aretha!

  • oh god,,, 4:50 gave me goosebumps

  • Love you! Our Queen, my friend! Be well, and hope to hear and see you real soon. Always, Bobbi

  • Be well, my friend! Our Queen! Can't wait to hear you live again. Lovw\e,Bobbi

  • Ms. Franklin was hospitalized...She was released last week...Please pray for our Queen...I always worried about her and her weight..Aretha is 68 yrs. old, and not getting any younger...Please pray for her Saints, that she may be delivered from the spirit of heaviness...

  • @laidyeh stop it lol....heaviness.....she's alright now from what i saw on the wendy williams show :-)

  • @ennisel I wasn't being funny....There is a spirit called a spirit of heaviness....I was being sincere...Didn't want anything to happen to her....I did not want her to have a stroke, or a heart attack...I am a stroke survivor, and I am no where near the size of what Aretha was...I am happy to see that our Queen has shed the unnecessary weight...Just worried about her health....

  • @laidyeh I'm sorry...thought you were being humourous.....i do know about the spirit of heaviness....It's all GOoD

shalom! and Glad you're doing well :-)

  • @laidyeh it was the irony of it all....

  • @laidyeh Yes but she is back and as she said her self slimmer fitter and ready to rock

  • @laidyeh - I too pray for the Queen of Soul. why must we lose our great singers to weight gain, high blood pressure and diabetes. Look at poor Luther, and now Ms. Franklin and Chaka. These gifted people are our treasures and if there is anything we can do to help them stay healthy, we must try. They are dying too soon and it does NOT have to be this way. 68 is not young - but it is too young to die of preventable causes that are weight related. God do NOT take this lady from us.

  • take my hand lord and lead me through the night

  • segersg, it's not just in the south, i've heard some youg guys and girls sing ltheir hearts out in church of all denomanations, north and south.but thats ok they can touch hearts and lives right where they are. i've heard this song many times,it always bring tears to my eyes,it's because of his amazing grace that i am still here in the land of the living. to GOD be the glory!!!!

  • and you know the crazy thing is that there are tons of young singers that can really blow but we'll never get to hear them because they don't look the part anymore. Nowadays, you got to have it ALL!!! If she was 20 years old today we may never have got the chance to hear her. If you don't believe me, next time you are in the south go hear the young people singing at church.

  • @segersg, Spot on!

I'm sick to my heart today after hearing about AR's pancreatic cancer diagnosis

We would never have heard of Aretha Franklin, Patsy Cline, Ella Fitgerald or Sara Vaughn, 4 of the greatest vocalists of all time simply because they did not possess Hollywood "beauty". The only one I could think of who WOULD have made it was Doris Day who had that "look" and that voice.

Can you imagine a world without Aretha Franklin's voice? I can't.

  • Look at poor Martha Wash / Deborah Cooper / Leatta Halloway !! - and their voices are friggin amazing - yet they used pretty little things to mime to their songs in promotional videos. - Aretha was never a 'Pretty Girl' - shes not Ugly by no means but shes not what th entertainment of today call pretty - and Whitney 'my favourite by the way' - only really made it because she was absolutely gorgeous! - if she had looked like 'a black Celine Dion - we never would have heard of her - lol - wink!

  • @taurusg32 In the 1970's Aretha was very beautiful, she didn't look like a model but she was indeed beautiful.

  • @TheQueenAretha - and you speak like a beloved fan would.

Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder!!

Unfortunately there is a formula these days for beauty - Thin / dazzling white straight teeth, large eyes, flawless skin (no breakouts or spots). reasonable to tall in height - but your are right Aretha did start out looking commercially attractive.

I feel sorry for how much emphasis the entertainment + magazines put on these young girls to look a certain way.

  • @taurusg32 I speak with the truth and not just because i am a fan because before I was a big fan, i would look at videos and pictures of her when she was in the 70's and thought she was very pretty! It is a sad way the industry is today!

  • @segersg or in the north!being able to BLOW is not limited to the south

  • @segersg Your wrong about that, at age 20 the Queen of Soul carried the total package. She was sexy, beautiful, had a great shape and could dance.

  • JEESH!!!!!!!

  • some artists need to just go back to their roots. and her's is singing the G O S P E L

  • this was when she was the princess.

  • @mattratt512 hahaaaaaaaaaaaa!

  • I love the shouts!!!!!!!!!! Im with yall!!!

  • She was born with that voice - I wish I could have sung that well - Thank you God for voices like that...

  • She's kinda blowin', here! And, I'm understating it!

  • 14 years old????

    Are you kidding me????

Lord have mercy! *waves church fan*

  • My God,My God.....Lead us Lord....Speak to us Lord.....Guide us Lord, by thy Holy Spirit. We cant do it without you.For in you we have the VICTORY.Halleluyah!Halleluyah! Oh Glory to His Name!

  • She had a powerful annointing on her voice. She was able to minister with her voice and ppl could feel her just that deep. Somebody asked me why do ppl in the background scream out like that when she is singing? I told them it is because her annoiting is touching them deep inside and they can't help it.

  • God know our hearts, But Lord I'm asking you tonight to be with each & everyone of us as we sleep & Lord, If there is a need to call any of us home, Lord you walk with us to our promised land and for thoughs of us that may be in limbo, I pray to you to correct our ways and let us not straddle the fence anymore, Protect us & keep us,Guide us & Lead us, Care for us when we are unsure & our next step may seem unstable carry us to our path to keep us from swaying from your word, in Jesus name Amen.

  • God is an powerful God. Look how he use a fourteen years old child to reach people.

  • Almost brought me to tears...she better sing it in Jesus' name...AMEN

  • @BlaqKryton almost nothing for me...i hate crying cause my tears *really* burn but god is faithful....and this song just broke me down

  • I don't see any reason why Halle Berry couldn't play a young Aretha Franklin in her biopic. I say let Ms. Ree have whoever she wants in her movie.

  • This where it all started........Long love the Queen...........thank you for posting

  • Aretha, you bad! Good ole down South singing

  • This song shakes my soul when i hear it. Thank you lord..

  • You can clearly hear the Clara Ward influence on this one.

  • SIMPLY THE BEST

  • wow this is 14 year old Aretha! yep a star was in the making on this one ladies and gentlemen!

  • Aretha at 14 years old, singing and playing. recorded in her father's church.

  • Did she have lessons or anything? Or did she just love to sing? I mean, how the hell are you just born with a voice like this?

  • babygirlfty 1 says nothing like some good gospel music

  • Now yall I love me some ree ree too but that QUEEN of soul/gospel REALLY belongs to Mahalia Jackson.

  • @MsHoly777 Mahalia is the Queen of Gospel no doubt but Aretha is the Queen of Soul, simple as that.

  • she was only 14

  • can you say HOLY GHOST?

  • very gifted...

  • oooh Yes.. My Jesus!!!

  • VOZ! Nada de play back. Cada nota, cada tecla do piano, em uníssono. Maravilha. Curti todo este tempo. Não é uma verdadeira maravilha?

  • All i can say is precious lord!

  • I can listen to this song over and over. It's soothing to the soul. Thank you, Heavenly Father. Bless the person who posted this song and all of the listeners.

  • This song touches the soul. Some of the church music of today sounds like clubbing music (no offense). I see some folk in the choir snapping their fingers to the newer songs. This song will have you either crying, worshipping or praising God, if not all three; you won't be thinking about popping your fingers. What a powerful voice and song that gives you the chills.

  • I've got aretha on a couple of 78's from this time....

    great stuff!

  • Amazing!

  • wow! She is such a blessing!

  • 14 years old she was born to sing

  • 14 years old? WOW!!!!!!! Just God given

  • forgive me lord!

  • cannot believe she was only 14yrs of age what a voice

  • in memory of my mom NELLIE JORDAN who decended into heaven 7/7/2009 Arethas gospel album was one of her favorites and she could sing like her esp ecially AMAZING GRACE R.I.P.

  • Listen at those vocals at 14, a truly gifted voice. It touches the soul.

  • @Lavayda1 Her voice says instant church when you hear the first note. I remember this as a lil girl. Songs like this has kept me over the years. Her humming is like a warm hug from God. Thank you Aretha for using your gift!!

  • This song and the whole album give me chills goosebumps and warmth all at the same time Nobody else sends me like she does or ever will

  • TALENT TALENT TALENT THAT ALL

  • perfect

  • not to be racist or anything, but only black females can belt it out like this.

  • @noremorse126 lol that's funny how everyone thinks that....there might be some truth to that...

  • @noremorse126 Agree! ♪

  • @noremorse126 ; i have to disagree, we finally have a white female that can do it. jessie J has an amazing voice.

  • @loosejuice12345 ok. Jessie is great but she is not aretha lol lets be real.

  • @noremorse126 how is that rasist ur saying something good about black people its hard to find people like that

  • @noremorse126 It's AMAZING that you would find racism in that comment....it's just tragic that we are THAT sensitive.

  • @noremorse126 You are right on target!! Something about being in the hot sun picking cotton under the cruel hand of a white slavemaster will make you reach out to the Lord above it all,to get through the next moment.

  • Aint no harm to moan!

  • No, "The Queen Aretha" still wears her crown...& no other...:)

  • There is no they way to even begin to compare Jennifer Hudson, or any other singer in today's market to Aretha..........it's not even close.

  • praise him!!!

  • Still my all time favorite song and Singer!!! What a voice

  • This is beautiful. Aretha, you are the greatest.

  • To have a voice like this at the age of 14 yrs old, I know back there when ppl heard her sing in the church, they knew she just had a bright future. She can turn a church out with this here, then the moaning part. Lord Help me. Ready to jump out my skin. My Lord, ya'll Be Blessed

  • this is what the church represents every day. aretha was and is still amazing. its just wonderful to know the people god places in our lives. and there are youngs ones out there today on this same level. amen

  • SHE WAS 14. WOWY WOW WOW

I love Gladys...but This baby was 14. Thumbs up Aretha.Right?

  • My God, I pray that I can do ANYTHING in my life as awesome as she sings this song!!

  • LEGEND!

  • best soulful voice i ever heard!

  • i always turn to this-her version-at certain time. she really is just something from a different place. thank you

  • OMG! Thank God for her! This is my favorite gospel song and no one sings it for me like her!

  • wow

  • I love Gladys Knight but Aretha isn't a step below anyone. She is at the very top. Aretha is in an excelled league of singer that Gladys even as great as she is isn't with.

  • Sister, it boils down to preference. I do not know anyone who can out do Gladys. Both have an abundance of talent.

  • Aretha can outdo Gladys. Sweetheart Aretha is one of a kind. There wasn;t a singer that was vocally or soulfully better than Aretha. Aretha's only peers are Ella and Mahalia. There is a reason why Aretha is the Queen.

  • Aretha and Gladys are both the greatest Soul singers...Just like you said there is a reason why Aretha is the Queen of Soul there is also a reason why Gladys Knight is the Empress of Soul..

  • There is no doubt that Gladys is am fantastic singer. I would never i disgree with that and she deserves her title as Empress but there is no question that Aretha is the Queen of Soul.

  • @TheQueenAretha It is not about who can out do who...

  • I never intended to compare Aretha to Gladys. I am not the one you should to talking to, you should be talking to the person who brought Gladys name into this, not me.

  • Truly wonderful. This is even more amazing that she was only 14. One of the greats. Love her.

  • I Love THIS, Listen at how Aretha was clearly ahead of her years. At this age she had so much feeling.....She was born to sing! All hail the Queen

  • almost gone, good God almighty, what a voice. there is no one like Aretha Franklin, i mean at fourthteen, just listen to her wail and sing straight from the heart and soul. we need some of that kind of singing today. Thank God for her, because she will forever live through her music. love you Miss Aretha Franklin
