Funny how the dems say she's got no overseas experience and tried to suggest that she'd never been abroad. This video shows her in Kuwait in 2007 visiting the Alaska nationalguard- in other words- her boys and girls serving overseas- Well before she was even thought of a part of a ticket.....did Obama make overseas trips to visit the troops before he decided to run??- I think not!

Don't misread the expressions on some of the soldier's faces.

As much ceremony as there is in the military, soldiers have a tendency to resent ceremony that pulls them away from their everyday duties.

They are also conditioned to look on politicians with some skepticism.

If these soldiers knew what Sarah Palin represents, their reactions would have been much more enthusiastic.

Like John McCain, Sarah Palin connects with our troops and cares about them. She values them as people, and she also wants them to be successful in their missions.  She was a great mayor, is a great governor, and will make a great vice president. There is nothing phony or insincere about her. She's a patriot. Barack Obama does not connect with our troops, generally speaking. He's a nice guy, but he is clueless when it comes to the military. Joe Biden is a little better, but not much.

I agree, her speech was very effective. I'm a complete middle-of-the-road person when it comes to politics, a total swing voter, usually undecided up to the last minute when I've considered every detail, and have to admit that at first I wasn't happy about her...but she won me over big time last night. I still haven't decided my vote, but she definitely placed me leaning toward McCain/Palin - I was extremely impressed by her. We'll have to see how the Pres and VP debates play out....

I love when people spread half truths. Obama was not denied a visit with the troops, his campaign staff was denied a visit - there is a difference. It is a DOD policy to not allow campaign staffs, it was nothing personal against him. He was told he could visit as Senator Obama with his senate staff, not with a campaign staff. He was absolutely cleared to visit, he chose not to when told he could not bring his campaign staff. Tell the truth if you want people to consider the things you say.
