It's interesting that Brad points out that your home is to be a safe place. This mentality is why Wes Craven liked to have the hero/heroin attacked in thier own room or home, because it makes it that much scarier knowing that there is no safe place. This was used a little before his time but I think his work and the other major slasher directors really brought it to the surface.
