  • Looks like Janick hadn't developed his prancing back then.

  • Shocked dark hair on Jan is so cute but i don't mean to sound mean I don't think he could pull off having bark hair again :) But Jan is still hot no matter what color his hair is, or age, or what band he has been in. Lets be thankful he is still in the music business and nothing else

  • bass player look alike halford!

  • OHMYGOD!!!!

    I DIDNT RECOGNIZE JANICK -GASP-

  • de puta madre el video!!

  • he sounds like dio

  • A bit of trivia for those that didn't know. Way back before Deep Purple was formed in 1968 Gillan drummer Mick Underwood was in a band called The Dominators and their guitar player was Ian Gillan's best pal one Ritchie Blackmore!!!!

  • I really love Janick Gers in Iron Maiden but I think his gutiar style suits this music style better :)

  • @christian7433560 Actually this isn't Janick playing on this...It's a playback. It's Bernie Torme your hearing!

  • Is Jans originaly hair colour dark?

  • This one reminds me of No One Came from the Fireball album

  • And what be this song????

  • what is the name of this tune? Great Great song

  • @lioneltwain22 No Laughing In Heaven

  • Can`t even see his face.

  • hi janick rock on matey from mick in caledonian road!!!! mick.

  • this rocks!

  • Gers is amazing!!!

    He is hansome*___*

    I love you Geeeers!!!

  • Gers is actually not playing on this song, It's a playback....Bernie Torme is actually what you are hearing.

  • I saw this line up in the early 80's. They kicked ass!

  • This must be the 80s right?

  • GERS IS GOD

  • Grat stuff, Janick is amazing!

  • He played with Ian Gillan.

  • No, Janick was Ian Gillan's guitar player. He recorded 2 albums with Gillan.

  • Err, No. Gillan Band album. Might be Glory Road (but he didn't play on that album recording itself) may be a pre song to his involvement. Long time ago, hazy memories. Lps somewhere if important. He came in on "Double Trouble" I think. Yes that's right, but this may be earlier song he's covering.

  • Yeah White spirit!

  • Gers ROCKS

    JANICKS IS THE BEST

  • Gillaaaaan!!! fucking awesome band, much better than Ian Gillan Band. this really sound more like the nwobhm

    Janick kicks ass

  • Ian Gillan - Vocals

    Janick Gers - Guitar

    John McCoy - Bass

    Colin Towns - Keyboards

    Mick Underwood - Drums

one of the first bands I saw, awesome live (honest)

All of them are still working in Music, check out many TV credits for Colin Towns !

  • I consider mr Gillan and especially his way of singing to be a plagiarism of mr Arthur Brown and these songs:

    "Fire" (xxx.youtube.xxx/watch?v=NOErZuzZpS8) or

    "Nightmare" (xxx.youtube.xxx/watch?v=b5hs3IDETcg&feature=related).

When it comes down to appearance mr. Alice Cooper has obviously borrowed a thing or two from mr Arthur Brown.

My personal opinion is that mr Arthur Brown should have performed the role of Jesus, in you know what musical.

  • fuck you burqua12

  • Who are you to insult me?

What did I ever do to you personally?

Are you really that stupid, i.e. not being able to tell the difference between criticism towards your idol and towards yourself?!

In that case it's just pathetic.

If you instead would have chosen to use the links I provided, then you might have noticed, that there's in fact a lot of substance in what I wrote.

  • Yoo seem to be very fond of Mr. Arthur Brown.

  • Arthur Brown is apparently him.

  • What a pretty good song. Rob halford plays the bass here lol

  • lol haha its a rob halford-kerry king hybrid.

  • Lol, but no :P

  • Love it. Wild stuff.

  • Screaming Lord Gillan on stage.

  • his first band was Whitespirit, produced by John McCoy.

  • this is Gillan with Gers, not Gers with Gillan.

  • first show Bombay rock!

  • Just Great!

  • i am a massive fan of deep purple and iron maiden but one thing's for sure , this should be titled Ian Gillan Band with Janick Gers, not "Janick Gers with Ian Gillan"

Gillan is my all time favourite vocalist, his style rubbed off alot on Maiden's Bruce Dickinson too....in fact, the black fender strat u see Janick using to this day in Maiden was a parting gift from Ian Gillan.....

  • i spoke to janick's guitar rodie in '81 he told me that his strat was a '69 origional, not a bad sound

  • @moparmav THIS IS IAN GILLAN WITH JANICK GERS.... Janick is God!!

  • Ian and janick rocks together!!

  • Indeed man!

  • janick's hair used to look a bit odd... but man i still love him! \m/

  • LONG LIVE JANICK

  • awwsom!

  • I'm so so sorry he lost his voice.. I'm sure he was the best 70's rock singer.. A wonderfull natural instinctive voice.

  • He hasn't lost his voice...

  • Ian gillan...what a great voice and a fantastic song writer.....

    "What, says I, no party?

    No party?

    Let me out....

    Let me out of Heaven

I got it wrong, no I can't stay here

    No laughing in Heaven

Let me out, I just can't stay here"

  • HOW can not LOVE Gillan?

  • He totally rules. I saw this line up at Wembley just before Christmas 1982(?). I think it might even have been their final show before the DP reunion, but I might be wrong. Mr Gillan was fantastic, Janick Gers smashed several giutaers and some of the PA system - 'Magic'

  • bass player seems like Kerry King ))))

  • Happy holidays to everybody, especially Ian G.and those who played in this video...

  • No laughing in heaven

  • The song title :No laughing in heaven.Ian Gillan wrote briliantly this lyrics too.He is a greatest singer of this hole universe and the best Poet all time.

  • Whats the name of that song ?? ;O

  • No Laughing In Heaven

  • Janick Gers rulez !!! :)

    up the irons !!

  • janick is the guitarist?

  • Yes, HIs first "known band" was this one, Gillan (Ian gillan Lead singer of Deep Purple), then Iron Maiden hired him

  • @hugitoviana Whitespirit was his 1st

  • It may just be me, but it looks like Janick is too caged on this stage. He needed the open room

of IRON MAIDEN'S stage to run, do his guitar tricks and most of all have a great time doing it.

    UP THE IRONS!

  • might have something to do with this being a tv studio and the band are miming..promoting the single.

  • o.O oh, ok cool.

  • Theyre all cool

  • ian gillan got some terry jones look, would be nice to see deep purple with terry jones singing like "Brian's mother"!!! hwhwahwahwawaaw!!

  • Gillan were so bad ass! I can';t believe Ian backstabbed his whole crew not too long after this so he could join Sabbath. Janick sounds damn cool here - a far cry from his idiotic guitar tossing clown act with Maiden.

  • clown act with maiden...go fuck urself

  • Ya man the guy that said that clown act with maiden thing touched my daughter

  • My favourite Gillan song, love they lyrics. And Mr Janick Gers on the guitar, what else needs to be said?

  • Give us more videos from this time frame from Gillan. pleassssse. thanksss

  • No party!? NO PARTY!!!???

  • What Gillan meant, is what people made of church and christianity: he went to the wrong church!

  • my dad shook hands with ian gillan during a concert in this year

  • I was lucky enough to meet the band after a show in 1981, nice guys.

  • where did you meet them,i met them in cardiff on that tour janick showed me his guitars.

  • Hi sorry its taken me so long to reply. I saw them at the Cornwall Colesium which is near St Austell. Janick showed you his guitars!!!! That must have been great.

  • VictimofAtkins, you lucky bastard...

  • Total classic, I'm 15 again! :D

  • gillan vocals are great here

  • I met Jannick once, at a Whitesnake gig in Newcastle. Just thought you'd all like to know.

  • This is just after Bernie Torme left the band so, although you're watching Janick (who jumped in at short notice to replace him) the backing track they're playing to is still Bernie's recording. Bizarre but makes it a bit of a rarity.

  • It's from the Ian Gillan album Future Shock which came out in 1981.

  • Sweet, Australian music TV comes through again!! This looks like it's around turn of the decade. (79-82)

  • Very nice, Janick and Gillan, 2 gods in the same band!!! This was a long, very long time ago!!! It's perfect!!!

  • great!!!

  • what's the name of the music??

  • no laughing in heaven

  • Gillan rules!!!

  • wow thanks a lot!!

  • excelent.

  • nice video

I aways wanted to see it
