Furthermore, experts say that we would see more oil from offshore drilling within two years. We still need to develop solar power, wind power, etc., but offshore drilling is definitely something we should be doing immediately. McCain knows this. Obama doesn't.

The only way we can lower energy prices is to cut tax breaks from oil companies and use that money to fun programs to develope renewable energy source. Some people say natural gas but wouldn't that increase the price of natural gas due to the demand. Natural gas in homes would become more expensive. Developing a renewable energy source is the only way.
Pacificshogun, no it's not the ONLY way. We must do many things to meet our energy needs and strengthen our economy. We must drill offshore (and close enough to land to tap the most oil), and we must develop more solar power, wind power, etc. Pressuring the automotive industry to produce cars that are smaller and more fuel efficient is another thing we can do. Expanding alternative transportation can also help. It must be a comprehensive plan.

I hear this stance so often, but I would like someone to explain why jobs continued to go overseas under Bush's tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans. Anyone who lives in Michigan or Ohio knows that there has been nothing but job loss for the last 8 years. Bush is the one who thought we should be a "service economy," after all.
Oh, and McCain is more interested in nuclear power plants than renewables. Anyone familiar with Davis-Besse's near meltdown?

Later when Obama made it to the US Senate, he began to line his pockets with payoffs from the Fannie Mae crooks. They get millions in tax credits and then have their attorneys fight the rest, the government doesn't have the same legal departments and accepts a very low tax payment. The money is in the hands of the very wealthy. If you are one of the very wealthy, then McCain is your man. If you are working class you are voting against your own interests.

The way the market works, even just talking about drilling offshore can have a positive effect on the price of oil. Furthermore, experts say that we would see more oil from offshore drilling within two years. We still need to develop solar power, wind power, etc., but offshore drilling is definitely something we should be doing immediately. McCain knows this. Obama doesn't.

The only way we can lower energy prices is to cut tax breaks from oil companies and use that money to fun programs to develope renewable energy source. Some people say natural gas but wouldn't that increase the price of natural gas due to the demand. Natural gas in homes would become more expensive. Developing a renewable energy source is the only way.

Pacificshogun, no it's not the ONLY way. We must do many things to meet our energy needs and strengthen our economy. We must drill offshore (and close enough to land to tap the most oil), and we must develop more solar power, wind power, etc. Pressuring the automotive industry to produce cars that are smaller and more fuel efficient is another thing we can do. Expanding alternative transportation can also help. It must be a comprehensive plan.

Have you seen what Lieberman is up to lately with YouTube censorship? Look it up. It's well known Lieberman will be a top guy in a McCain administration because he's a fellow Neocon. The tax cuts my favorite comedian is talking about, go to OIL COMPANIES, not small businesses.
The energy plan: DRILL, DRILL, DRILL! He only recently started supporting renewable energy sources, mainly because Barack was gaining ground in the polls on that platform.
McCain would PRIVATIZE health insurance, making it MORE EXPENSIVE, thats a reform... I guess. True, he would send a tax rebate to pay the start up cost, but the monthly payment would be about 250% more than a social system.
