  • dont let the Canadians see this video they will beat all the baby seals too death

  • I keep hearing about all these endangered species and what scientists are doing to save them. It just pulls me in different directions; I don't know where I want to focus my education anymore!

  • thank god not all seals are waiting to beaten to death. those stupid canadians and nambibians

  • IT IS SO CUTE !!!

  • how people conflict on homosexuality on a animal video, I will never understand...

  • Sometimes I wish the right to life extended to animals as much as it does to people. Because then it would be legal for me to defend them by killing assholes like you.

  • A joke?! You have a twisted sense of humor.

And yes, I am a lesbian... in a man's body!

  • uh, yeah... most guys are...

But the new century boys are into their own reflection a lot more than the hot girl next to them *shivers*

  • You are one selfish person. How would you feel to be cubbed?! I doubt you would like it!

  • You failed at English. Congrats.

  • cute

  • I love animals but with a lot of things going on in this world such as oil spills from large tanker carrier ships and disasters of the nature mainly down to human error many animal species will go extinct

  • i like ur point of view, same hear, i also love anymals! i have a dog, took it 2 mexico with my uncle so he can be a father 4 tha 4th time ii think.. ^-^

  • Oh and also Mom is pretty famous here in Greece! They do a great job rescuing and taking care of seals!I believe this seal was found close to the Alonisos Islan as it has many coastal caves where seals go to give birth to their babies.

  • I've been lucky enough to see a monk seal live close to the Greek island Alonisos. The greater Scopelos-Skiathos-Alonisos islands areas (in the north aegean sea, also called Sporades) are protected by the Greek government as wildlife water parks.

  • Shouldn't they let those seals eat the fish?

  • i thought that the seals sent the texts

  • @weinerschnitzelboy I KNOW!!!

  • lool seal txt

  • haha i thought it actually can send txts

  • Seals will have iphones :D

  • Yes, i'm very sure they have cool mobile phones

  • Where was that seal found?

  • i was beginning to suspect this was a new way for cell phone companies to advertise... like u see a verizon vest on the seal.

  • 5:15 lmfao!!!!

  • wow, they should think about the title, before they make it sound like the seal actually sends text messages!

  • Well I hope you realize that they did that specifically to trap people like you into giving them a view. It is somewhat comparable to Rickrolling.

  • it looks so cuddly but doesn't sound like one

  • interesting..

  • thanks for making this, its very interesting!

  • where do i buy those?

  • she is so cute

  • aww lil cute cuddly seal

  • the seal? or jordan8651? hope its jordan8651

  • How did they attach that device on the seal's back? It might get the seal entangled to fishing nets thus putting it in greater danger.

  • Aww Cute lil Seal =P

  • Those are awesome.

  • It sucks dat sharks eat em tho

  • oh! don't say that! they my cutie pies ^^

  • Thankfully there are no big sharks in the north Aegean sea in Greece where monk seals live.I mean there are sharks in the Greek waters but they live in the southern Aegean sea close to Crete and Africa and also in the Ionian sea close to Italy.

  • adorable

  • His mom is probably in the navy.

  • pwnt

  • LMFAO

  • those seals are cool

  • I didnt think a seal could learn our alphabet, apply it to cell phone texting, but national geographic is reliable, and im just curious

  • wahhh! kawaii!

  • A monk seal, raised in captivity in Greece, has been released into the wild with a cell phone that sends text messages about her location.

  • sucha beautiful animal

  • seal = yummy and cute :D

    (jk)

  • eww.

  • What a pretty girl!

  • what a sweat heart

  • Hah, the seal is cute

  • ...wow misleading title

  • yeah totally

  • lol I love the misleading title. still nice vid

  • misleading indeed,

They put a cell phone on the seal, And it sends a text message to some lady to keep track on how the seal is doing. THE SEAL DOES NOT PRESS BUTTONS AND HITS THE SEND BUTTON.

That is for you people who don't wanna waste your time

  • Very sweet video clip. I want to text her. Got her number?

  • NERDS

  • watching this video made me hungry. goddamn i love me some seal

  • going vegetarian is not good for your body you need meat, fish for protein i promise u if u go vege u wont live as long as someone eating healthy and meat.

  • im not a vegetarian and I even know thats bullshit rofl, u can get protein from other things dumbass, beans give just as much protein as a slab of stake but with less fat, and without murdering animals.

  • no creatine in beans

  • beans + rice = all amino acids

    (just one of many examples)

  • "without murdering animals."

    You're still murdering another lifeform.

  • Comon man... it's about a lifeform's ability to experience pain, and how eating the lifeform effects our planet. I'm not going to cry after eating a potato any time soon... Eating meat is 24X the carbon footprint of driving your car annually. The food it takes to feed the animals we eat is enough to solve world hunger.

  • That calculation only applies to certain kinds of animals, for example pigs produce far less greenhouse gases than cows. And you can actually turn it on its head by hunting instead of purchasing farmed meat.

Solving world hunger.. Let me ask you, if we make it possible to sustain a population of 8, or 12 or 20 billion, what do we do when we reach that number? World hunger isn't going to go away by making more food available.

  • Pain is just a warning signal, it's not really relevant at all. Its purpose is to inform the organism that actual damage is being done, and that's the part that people should be objecting to.

Otherwise we might as well perform surgery on all our cattle (or genetically engineer them once we're able to) and make them insensitive to pain. Give them a lobotomy too, if you're concerned about mental anguish.

  • Apathetically speaking, pain is a brain function of a warning signal. Empathetically speaking, lets see you get your throat slit and have you suffocate on your own blood while it drains from your neck, then talk about pain as just a warning signal. Multiply that by thousands of creatures a day. It's a genocide for a taste preference.

I believe our population is sickening, I'm never having kids. regardless, the world would be a better place if we could feed those in dire need of it.

  • hippie lol

  • That doesn't change what it is. It's still just a warning signal.

  • Ok, it's a warning signal... Every experience in your life is a brain signal. It's pretty depressing living life as nothing but a physics test because there's much more to it than that.

That doesn't change what it is for me either. Personally eating meat is morally, logically and socially irresponsible in comparison to vegetarianism. I'm not expecting my choice to "save the whales, rainforest and solve world hunger". At the end of the day it's to each his own.

  • How very interesting, but it still doesn't give pain any kind value as an argument against eating meat.

Your position on this issue doesn't appear to have anything to do with morality, logic or responsibility, but it obviously has everything to do with the image of animals being killed and that's simply not rational.

  • What?? I don't enjoy the thought of a human having his throat slit. It's a moral issue of mine. I don't enjoy the thought of an animal having his throat slit. It's a moral issue of mine. What's the difference? Logic? I just told you, I have a smaller economic footprint, I show a protest to the meat industry, I can live a healthy life without meats. Responsibility, well I just don't like to feel responsible for a creature of earth being killed for my preference of taste.

  • "I don't enjoy the thought of an animal having his throat slit. It's a moral issue of mine."

No, it's an aesthetic issue and your choice of words shows it. Morality, logic and responsibility are just excuses you make up after you've made the decision to oppose it.

    You're being emotional, not rational.

  • its why the world is like the way it is. it called a food chain! do you care when a cat kills a mouse for its own gain? or is the cat sposed to live on grass and grain all its life?

  • "The way it is" is a stupid and pointless argument. If we let everything be the way it is, we'd get nowhere. If you have the capability of saying no to harming an animal and choosing to eat something else, you should. That's just how I think. Of course a cat should eat the mouse, I have no problem with that whatsoever. If an animal eats meat to survive, then they have every right to. If I was on a deserted island and needed to kill a pig with my hands to SRUVIVE, I would in a second.

  • stake? stakes arent dont have much protein

    steaks on the other hand...

  • Think before talking about things you dont know. A well balanced vegetarian regime is usually better than a normal alimentation.

  • Well, it has been linked to people becoming complete cunts, but correlation doesn't imply causation.

  • I hate stuff like this, I want to eat, i want a car and i want a house. But the only real way for me to get there things is to use resources, the gathering of which destroys the environment. So I what i really dislike is that we cannot co-exist with nature with our current lifestyle.

  • that is damn cute! i hope they'll multiply more.

  • Very good!

  • This is very sad to watch, beautiful animals have the right to live in peace & harmony..Thumbs Up for all those Biologists!!

  • I love seals

  • victoria is a cutie.

  • OMG...nothing is cuter than a baby playing with a baby seal...and I am so becoming a vegeterrian.

  • that's wonderful! becoming a vegetarian and all

but i've one thing to ask...? who eats baby seals? lol!

  • well, I don't but if less people eat meat, then it creates less incentive to fish and thus deminimize the risk of baby seals being hurt by the fishermen.

  • Actually all over the world people are eating seals and other odd things. And me myself bein a vegetarian it is also saving the lives of cruely treated animals all over the world.

  • i dont know why we eat seals i like to eat cow

  • I do

  • really? oh god! i suppose with fishing and all and seals getting caught in nets it's all connected i guess

    cool

god that's news to me though

what way would you eat seal? is their a special dish?

  • That is grat your going veggie : ) (i am one too) Your saving thousands of creauly treated animals lives

  • this is great :)

  • ...hey,,, its there privacy 2:27.. no peaking!!! waahhaha

  • wow!!!!..that seal is cute!!!:)

  • the title was a ripoff

but still a good vid xD

  • :p it wasnt a rip off, 5:10 :)

  • some people are just so ignorant of ecological biology that they think putting an aid on the seals back is detrimental to them when its actually greatly benefical.

  • some people are too sensitive. its like they dont get the overall concept in why scientists do the things they do. you cant save something if you dont understand how it works.

    btw, seals waddle funny :3

  • I don't care if it is only on it's back for 6 months. It's going to get caught on one of those damn fish lines. What a great project, wonder where they will find the seal dead. Great research you fucking idiots.

  • It isnt real video lol. No harm will come to any natural inhabitant of this world :) I really hope people relax a little :) This isnt all a disater unless you want to be. People need to start having a bit of faith in all that is good I think :):):)
