well i gotta say this is a pretty crappy way of animating, the stick dude looks all fucked up and wavy, how do i fix this? it looks terrible.

thanks for the comment and the concern, this is just an example tutorial, and many people have used it to their advantage. If you prefer your stickman to look less wavy, use the Pencil Tool set to Curves (Press Y, then below, choose if you want it straight, cur ved or freehand). Setting it to Straight makes it able for you to draw full circles, curved makes you draw arms easily, and so on (don't use freehand).

1)press f7 then onion skin save u time of not deleting anything.

2)the onion skin tool is on the top bar under ur frames next to the red button(right).

3)to publish them u have to sort out ur publish setting which takes to long to explan:D

sparklingoofaza to make your animation play you go to control and play, btw with the tut istead of pressing F6 then deleting it, just press F7, when you press F6 you are making another keyframe, pressing F7 on the other hand you make a new frame, you will still see the outline of the stickman if you are using onion skin, so yeah, saves you pressing delete,USE F7 INSTEAD OF F6!

Press Enter to play the animation in current mode or CTRL + Enter to play it in testing mode (new window, more used for testing actinscript, but spacious for testing animations).

sorry i can't get used to the remove and the reply buttons being next to each other, so i accidentally removed your last reply. u can't get the outline tool? hmm, ok look under the timeline, there should be 3 sort of buttons that look like one square on top of another. try clicking them all seperately to if you get a result.

This program works fine! if you have trouble with flash MX 2004 or any earlier version haven't you thought about UPGRADING to something more complex like Adobe Flash CS3?

Sorry, i cannot help you with that one. if you downladed it it might have an error or virus on it. try turning firewall off.

Ah well, sometimes things need a lot of work put into them. Try pressing F7 to go to new frame instead of F6 and delete. Yes, you do have to redraw, but thats the literal best thing to do!

Import any .fla files as an animated gif too.

Press CTRL+J on your keyboard to bring up the Document Properties. Look for FPS, and change the frame rate to 12 (the original frame speed). if it is still running fast then there is something wrong with your PC or your product

just hit the onion skin button below the frames bar, then draw your stickman, then hit F7 and draw him in a different position. Ex: Move his arm up in the air. Then to play the movie... you click control and go down to test movie....

thats cause you should really instead of hiting F6 then onion skin and hit delete you should just hit onion skin then F7 a lot quicker and fix ur problem

Thats an easier way to put it... when i did this tutorial, i used F6... My knowledge of flash improved, and now i (obviously) know about F7. P.S. i now have Flash CS3, so you'll be seeing more quality stickman vids :)

to delete a MISTAKE on your figure, say you drew the arm wrong, all you have to do is hold ctrl and press Z... (ctrl + z) to undo your last move... or if you want to do it the hard way, press E on your keyboard and rub the arm out...

Here are hotkeys: V = black arrow Q = rotate and skew B = draw tool E = Eraser F6 = Next Frame F7 = Next frame (delete unlocked from previous frames) N = Line tool K = Paint bucket O = oval R = Rectangle that should help for any confused people
