actually there was no restraint imposed upon me because i had already done the video when adam asked if i could do one for his song! i just changed some of the effects. i love the way it ends up working together anyway and that is usually how i work, in this case i was doing a from of movement called authentic movement shot from the ceiling in silence. sometimes i have danced to music and put other music or poetry over it. people actually get upset because they were fooled.
I've never seen a video by you I didn't like, Donna! I love the way they just teem with ideas and energy and a totally idosyncratic visual and aural language.This one is very interesting in that the fact of working around a particular song seems to impose a kind of restraint ( a relative term in your case!) upon you. I like it no less than all your others and I wonder if it marks a new development in the language of your moving image work... Great!
