wonderingmind, you have a correct case about the global warming, thanks! I did look into it and most I could find was the projections calling for a 3-10F rise until end of the century. BUT, I can tell you that the current fossil fuels will be depleted within the next 30-50 years along with the destruction of the economies unless we move quickly to the nuclear, solar and wind power --it might not be enough though! The exponential fossil fuel consumption will NOT last for another 100 years...

No one can afford anything and companies are having to lay off personnel or close down.

Debt in the UK is meaning credit card companies are starting to clamp down on re issuing. These people living outside of their mean, they may be able to pay off the monthly charge but how long is it going to take to pay off the cards or will they when we all just keep buying?? ... from abroad.

Internet purchases from over sea are getting our money not the UK.

The French buy local so why don't we??

I help in several ways I'm not buying petrol from anyone, helping environment, getting fitter, (helps in preventing obesity) so helps the NHS. See what I'm thinking?,

This country is heading for a depression. We can't afford life anyway!! most of us are in debt already.

But remember transport use fuels the same way we do. It costs them too, they would use more if they needed to ferry more passengers so it's a loop, they would need more fuel so they would get angry about the prices, also if we protested against prices of the tickets and they needed to pay for more fuel, they aren't going to put the cost on customers. Are they?? They would complain to the government. Hopefully the price of something has to give, the price of car fuel or the price of tickets? ...

The sources of petrol are harder to get at so cost more. The quality is varied so needs more refining. A source in Madagascar(aptly named)needs digging out not pumping. The search and roads made would destroy more environment, so no more Madagascar just Car!

Think

What would aid the environment and get you to work- The bus, a train, walk, share a lift, get a horse and cart? The transport runs anyway whether anyone is on it or not!
