If you haven't noticed, on many fields, there is too many people receiving MSc degrees. For that reason it is quite difficult even for native Finns to get job from their fields.
On many fields this is true also on the PhD level as well. For example, quite many people who have studied biology, continue on PhD studies because they are not able to find job. And once they have PhD degree, it is still extremely difficult to get a job. The lucky ones may be able to became teachers in high school.

@enkelix Doubt it. Just a reflection of cultural difference. The problem with Finns is that we don't dare to speak foreign languages lest we make mistakes. We might be able to read and write, but please don't make us talk. It's hard enough in Finnish! There's also been criticism that Finnish is taught backwards, making people read Kalevala before they can ask for a coffee with milk. So the hidden message was "to survive out there in the real world you need to talk talk and talk".

All I can say is that I was in Finland, first to Helsinki and then north. As a black American woman I was treated warmly and with respect. I would go again.

I advise you to keep looking for jobs outside Finland if racism is the case, i can guarantee you'll find somewhere with lots of opportunities. You can not get pretty much any job, even you don't believe that. I think cleaning job is fine with little or no education, but there are people here who have high education and still can't get any other jobs. If you haven't noticed, on many fields, there is too many people receiving MSc degrees. For that reason it is quite difficult even for native Finns to get job from their fields.
On many fields this is true also on the PhD level as well. For example, quite many people who have studied biology, continue on PhD studies because they are not able to find job. And once they have PhD degree, it is still extremely difficult to get a job. The lucky ones may be able to became teachers in high school.

I remember when I studied english our teachers would always encourage us to do reading so that we wouldn't only adquire speaking skills, but we would get a wider, even technical vocabulary in case we go for higher education abroad.

@enkelix Doubt it. Just a reflection of cultural difference. The problem with Finns is that we don't dare to speak foreign languages lest we make mistakes. We might be able to read and write, but please don't make us talk. It's hard enough in Finnish! There's also been criticism that Finnish is taught backwards, making people read Kalevala before they can ask for a coffee with milk. Yeah, this video has a point, and it can be a problem. The thing is, there are also lots of highly educated native Finns who are unemployed or underemployed, eg. an engineer doing cleaning work. I can understand companies who rather employ the native Finns first if they have the same education.

Immigrants make almost 50% of rapes in our capital city, altough only few prosent of its population are immigrants.
As a whole immigrants in this country make many times more rapes and other crimes than us finns, and from somalians only 21% are working.

Its just a statistical fact that in Finland immigrants are doing many times more rapes and other crimes than us finns when compared number of them to number of finns, so crime rate per african immigrant is much higher. Of course all of them are not rapist, but too many.
Second especially somalis are often lazy, only 21% of are working good people, others are lazy and often criminals, which is weird when compared to kenyans who are most working well.

People need to move on from this argument. We live in a global village, your ethnic phenotype (your look) is not neccesarily the type of country you come from. We are individuals with shared beliefs, we are not races set against each other. You are free to go about the world relatively easier than others are to come to your country. Dont forget that. They do cleaning for a living. Yes living in a place is different than visiting but look at it from their perspective. I have traveled the world and seen the entire face of a country change when people come, can't find work, and are dependent on government services. THAT's what people are complaining about.

Things are economically difficult everywhere so yes, people are upset when they see their government services stretched to the breaking point by people who are not natives to the country. I stand by my prior statements...I was treated warmly by the Finnish people and would go back anytime. Stop complaining about a country that is not yours and whose services you are trying to use.

2nd,maybe even most important thing people are missing here: There is HUGE amount of unemployed people in Finland anyways, over 11% and government doesnt make any actions to help on that issue so thats why these kind of problems escalate.
I know what am talking about I have been living in Fin for over 16years, am foreginer and am white but still I meet pretty much same predjudices like other foreigners.

@Adenanu Well I don't live there so I can't say. But you have lived there for sixteen years. There must be a reason you stay there. Is it better than your home country? Have you worked in Finland previously and just recently become unemployed? I just think it's bad form to complain about a country that you moved to. It's kind of like a guest that complains about the food he/she is served. And believe me, unemployment is high everywhere. It's a very complex problem.
