  • awesome!

  • I like it.....I like it a lot...

  • this song has one of the wildest guitar solos i ever heard. thanks for the up.

  • Nice work, hard song to learn. Would like to hear you play that on an electric semi-hollow.

  • Nice work and nice pickups on that SG!

  • great job dude..all chords sound correct...nice feel..with the fingerpicking..just get the style for classical here on you tube and you're golden... LOL

  • Dude. Just earned yourself another subscriber.

Nice gitfiddles, too. Single cutaway classical and the double cutaway Les Paul (aka SG). Mmm mmm good.

  • What amp do you primarily use when your playing Rush Material?

  • nice cover dude, fucking love this song

  • or should I say sounds a bit chopped or as if you're waiting for Al's cue. I've seen ur videos man I know you can play, so just let er rip in the solo. Great playing tho and keep posting videos I have already improved some chord structures because of you thanks!

  • thanks a lot man! I'm super anal about playing these songs as note for note as I can manage, but I know what you mean.

  • Hey great playing. You have a very different way of playing the intro than what I usually see it's quite interesting. You're guitar sounds great too. As for the solo, One criticism and I mean this in the kindest of ways, just let er rip in the solo my friend. Don't try to do exactly what Mr. Lifeson did, he couldn't even do it the same way twice (i.e.Different Stages version)...just get the positionings right on the neck and let it fly from there. It just looks a tad bit chopped

  • how did you get that really trebely lifeson tone

  • I turned up the treble.

  • I don't mean to bash, but if you post a video expect to get honest criticism. I really didn't like the playing; it sounded very choppy and didn't flow at all... you have potential but just need to work on it - particularly changing chord shapes, etc.

  • Thanks for the tip. What chord shapes are you reffering to? As far as I'm aware, almost all the chords I play are exactly the ones that Alex uses.

  • Find a bassist and you're set.

  • @ediek915 Leave this guy alone. Youtube has too many people offering "criticism" that people don't ask for. He may not be a virtuoso but I think he did pretty good on a hard song like this. Rush fans are supposed to have class and your comment does not.

  • @MrRockmeister1 was I nasty/picking on him? No. I offered constructive criticism. I don't see what's so classless about that. When you post a video, expect criticism - good or bad. Rush fans are supposed to have class? Says who? Aren't you mr/mrs generalization!!??

  • @ediek915 Yes, Rush fans are supposed to have class. I really don't want to argue with you. You are just another person who likes to bash people on Youtube. There are thousands just like you. I am a full time guitar instructor and I hate to see this as it is not constructive in the way you worded your comment but actually insulting. You must be a real virtuoso yourself I guess. I'm sure you are a true expert on Rush music.

  • I want yer shirt

  • where'd you get that shirt. I been looking for one like that.

  • Rush Backstage Club online

  • awesome. i'll check it out. thanks.

  • That was amazing! I am trying to teach myself guitar, and that is my goal to play, but you just blew me away! (I'm gonna go practice now...)

  • omgsh i love this song!!!!!! Nice acoustic 2!!! I tried playing this but i dont understand it! =(

  • really well played!!! I've never cracked the solo - so creds for getting there :)

note to self: get classical guitar repaired!

  • Nice to see you posting videos again, enjoyed this a lot. As to the solo, I think you're pretty damn close. Well played.

  • Brilliant effort! A really great song.

  • great! keep it up...i just learned the xanadu intro today...

  • Cool. Post a video of it! Did you learn the note plucking part or the volume swells as well?

  • just the plucking part...i like going from song to song on rush and learning like a riff at a time...theyre a fun band to play

  • Hey, Great job. You gotta tell me where you get your tablature.

  • thanks man, Rush Tablature Project is the site
