If you go to Mordack's castle without the crowbar, the blue monster will show up on the screen with the grate and capture you. It's probably not worth making a video for, just something interesting I found out.

@jtd786 I think I get the pattern now. If the current impassible obstacle poses no direct threat to you, either some random event will occur to end the game (stalemate with the witch, ran out of emeralds, no crowbar) or it will just end outright (stuck in inn cellar). Otherwise the game will just wait until you die by the means of the impassable obstacle.

Having your idea in the video would be good for posterity's sake, but the actual ending in the dungeon is already shown, so I don't know.

You know... Manann the wizard DOES get off the second easiest out of all the King's Quest villains doesn't he? I mean, Graham basically blames Alexander for turning Manann into a cat... as if Alexander had any other choice at the time! Besides, if I were Graham I would've kept said cat in a bag and tossed said bag into fireplace... or how about that weird thing you toss the moldy cheese in?

I'm guessing that 3:19-4:49 happens if you get captured a second time, since the loose stone Cassima used to free you has been replaced and mortared. But, what happens if you get captured WITHOUT befriending Cassima?

Another death is is Graham goes into Mordack's laboratory before Mordack goes to bed. Just go upstairs and into Mordack's lab after sacking Manannan, and you'll meet Mordack there, and he kills you.

Yeah, you can also wait in Mordack's bedroom for him to wake up. It all looks a little different, but the dialog is the same. Keep in mind I was also trying to stay under 10 minutes when making this video (although now I know it really allows 11), so I reduced Mordack's clips to two.

If you disturb him in his sleep, you'll die.

Also, if you're standing near the doorway, or in front of the doorway when Mordack puffs into his room to prepare to sleep, he'll see and kill you there as well.

In KQ4 Rosella will die if she falls 4 ft. or more from the spiral staircase in the haunted house, but not if its a mini-fall. The speed control on these games slows down some animations but not others. Sometimes you gain reaction time by changing the speed control.

The blue creature only appears inside Mordack's castle, and he can't kill you directly. He'll take you to the dungeon, and you'll "die" if you go there twice.

Right. She doesn't show up and basically the same thing happens. The only difference is the game doesn't recognize the secret stone if you click on it (since you're technically not supposed to be aware of it yet).

Yes. That is what I show in the video.

Getting caught before befriending Cassima and getting caught twice after befriending Cassima seal essentially the same fate. The only difference is that when Graham gets caught twice, he is aware of the loose stone exit that Cassima uses to free him. That's why I click the eye and hand on that stone, which has now been permanently sealed.
