  • not sure if i'm going to the right blog, but your blog seems like a commercial search engine type. Has the web address changed?

  • I did not follow your instructions as I had read that the nelfad soap would work... WRONG! It does not look like your video, and it is not sudsing at all. I will not give up until I get it right... Thanks for your video.

  • hows that making ur own when ur using laundry soap to make it js

  • Thanks for the recipe! Just one question, how much do you use per load?

  • @lockhart36 Never mind, 1/4 cup. I see it now. :)

  • @lockhart36 -- Depending on how much water I use or what brand of laundry soap I have on hand ... I'll use 3 TBL to a half cup.

  • Do you ever add essential oil? I found the Duggar Family recipe said add 10-15 drops per 2 gallons of detergent. I JUST started using the detergent I made and I had to add 10 drops to ONE re-used Tide container of 100 oz before I got a load of laundry that even gave off a scent after it was done. (I don't want alot of scent, just a hint). Do you (or anyone) have an opinion of if this is okay?

  • @68mochagirl -- If you add essential oils for the purpose of leaving a scent on your clothes you are going to be wasting alot of money as most will go down the drain. I have a spray bottle that I fill with deluted theives oil (see my video for making home made theives). If I want a "scent" on my clothes, I lightly spray them when I hang them on the line to dry. If you use dryer .. why not try light spray after they come out?

  • Great! Thank you.

  • Can I use liquid castile?

  • @bgkaay8 -- I did once when I didn't have any of my laundry bars. Worked fine for me. Was just a bit more costly.

  • Wow! Thank you.

  • where did you buy the washing soda? I can't find it anywhere.

  • @01Woof -- I buy the washing soda on line at Amazon.com. :)

  • just finished bottling this recipe...i made the thieves a few weeks ago and added it to the detergent....smells great!!!

  • Can I use liquid castile soap instead of bar soap?

  • @mimart83 -- worth a try if you can get a good price on it. I have found the castille and other laundry bars to be cheaper. Let us know how it works! :)

  • Could you use this soap in HE washers? I noticed the symbol on your detergent bottle. If so should you lessen the amount you put in or keep the amount the same? Is this soap ok to use on all colors?

  • @nattaff162003 Your HE manufacturer can best answer that question and I do believe you void your warranty if you use a non-he detergent in your new machine. Having said that ... I DO use our home made detergent in our HE washer -- I use a bit less and it works just fine. Regarding color safe fabrics .. I imagine it makes a difference depending on what bar soap you use. With the Castille soap used here, or the Fels Laundry Soap which I have also used before, both are fine with all our clothes.

  • Borax should not be ingested. Ingesting large doses may be fatal. Exposure to skin or eyes may cause irritation. Do not inhale. Keep out of the reach of children and pets.

  • i am going to try this

  • thanks so much for this!

  • COOL adding this to my how too"S

  • @CoolKarmaVideo I see the Ajax dish soap there on the side of the sink. How do you make homemade version?

  • @TheIGPD Good eye you have!!! :) I am working on homemade dishwasher and dish soap, still trying various combinations to see what works best for us. When I find something that works, I'll upload to youtube!!! Thanks for watching.

  • Thanks for sharing. I love it

  • thanks! Awesome.
