The developers were initially going to portray China as America's adversary in the game but they deemed it too politically sensitive. So perhaps the people who created the background story for Homefront are not entirely serious about its true-to-life meaning. Although it's possible that China might side with N. Korea if any future hostilities erupt against S. Korea or the U.S..

Korea as it does with Taiwan over China. The U.S. has mostly come out of Iraq and now has the power to manoeuvre with the problems of Iran and N. Korea. You're right about the U.S. public not being happy about entering another war, but they won't be the ones who make the decisions.

The only way I see us winning against N.Korea long term is if the U.S. Public is deceived or shown in some way that if N.Korea isnt taken care of it would mean very bad news for us in the future...which is true.

How am I wrong? There's 900,000 troops stationed on the mainland US, plus all the over seas troops can be back here within what 48-72 hours at the most? And if you look at the US military, we have 1.2 million active and 1.2 million in reserve. Invading the US is very unlikely, no nation can defeat us in a conventional war. And by some chance a nation invaded us, I think our brothers to the north would help and our NATO allies.

And about ICBMs, we're developing the airborne laser which is designed for destroying ICBMs in their launch phase and I'm pretty sure our ships have the capabilities to shoot down ICBMs, we did shoot down a satellite. In an event of a nuclear attack, plans are in place to help the situation.
