our atmosphere consists of 0.0039% co2 while mars consists of 95.32% co2. either the surface of mars is as hot as the sun, or co2 hasn't caused global warming. every other planet is heating up, too. are they heating up, too, because of our carbon footprint? of course not. we're going through a cycle of intensified solar activity. let's say the plans stop the natural warming of the planet, what happens when the cycle of warming ends and the cooling cycle begins?

I deal with guys like this fellow all the time. These kinds of things are all well and good until you start to factor in issues like actual weather.
Well worth building one to see how it goes, but as an engineer myself it's not something I'm going to hang my hat on.
Remember, if this type of sail was as practical and efficient as he's touting..they would already be in use. The reality is that under actual weather conditions in the sea.. this ship would last a weekend...and that's being kind.

People need to stop messing around with the earth for sure. I get why they are trying this though. Our pollution is accelerating global warming, so maybe this can slow it back down. I don't know I'm not a scientist.
I don't agree with spraying silver iodide out of planes or from the ground to control the weather just to save people's vehicles from hail?? Seriously??? I say screw your damn BMWs! That is just pathetic.

this is crazy and people are falling for it....the earth is not stationary it moves so why do people think this is caused by man..FACT the eath is sometimes closer to the sun and sometimes further form the sun. The dinosaurs must have had cars and hairspray to cause the ice age right..THIS makes me puke.
