This is based basically on what you are using not the equally comparison between the two. Everything is like i like Canon more... and it's sound like "because it my camera!!"
Why do you guys keep saying dust dust dust he knows what he is doing and these are work horse cameras which are used to dust its fine nothing a little blow from you mouth cant fix .. ive taken my d3 through -15 degree's and 108 degree's and all over its been through tough spots and never failed me once so saying that it FILLS weaker well its not weaker :p
I know the D3 isn't a "fashion camera" but after shooting with it i just didnt get the solid feeling I get with the1D. Also dust isn't this magical thing that always sneaks in. If your work area is relatively dust free and your camera remains off while the lens are off you should be rather free of dust problems. also I never clean my sensors, I have them cleaned
where's your portfolio?

first of all u rnt goin into a war zone and secondly: its not how "tough" it feels, its about the image quality

i just turned to nikon couple months ago
i'm a port photographer and i really felt the defrence between these 2 camera
i tried the mkIII and there was a big problem with the focusing specially with the continous shooting and the servo focus
also the ISO issue .. i cant go more than 1000 in the canon .. now i shoot with 1600 with nikon without any noise
the grip of the d3 is wonderful
the buttons are easy 2 use
the battery is great
2 CF card
51 focus point( 36 in MKIII )

I don't see how hard it is in just being clean. No matter how much you know what you're doing.

for heavens sake, get some caps on your equipment! Finger prints on your mirrors aren't good. Much worse than a dusty sensor....
