The first V came out in model year 2004, not 05. Also the stabilatrack system is adjustable from full on, competition mode or full off. The maker of the video obviously does not have all their facts straight. As far as comparing the the german brands the car is a bargain costing thousands less.
@IMfckinDIESEL The numbers are the same, and this is the exact issue that I worked through. From what I read the 06-07 model years got the better rear differential (which failed a lot in the 04-05 models). But if the previous owner got their rear diff replaced under warranty, I see no problem with them. There were some other minor tweeks, but not as big of an issue, Actually the LS6 engine is what is used in the Corvette C5 Z06's, to me that's cool. Good luck, they are awesome cars.
From outside it has that sharp North American look; I give outside designers A-
From the inside its lucking that european charm and elegance ,I had a chance to drive American and European cars ,this Cadillac CTS-V from inside is far behind for that I give the inside designers C-.
I really hope that American cars will recover some of the prestige.
I really would like this car, I don't feel like dishing out 30k+ for a used G8 GXP. This seems like a bit of a bargain to me anyway, and plus something about it really grabs my attention. Not sure what it is
I own an '06 CTS-V that I did buy used, I paid a little more than $20k for it (less than $30k), but it was certified and had 21K miles. I will never regret that purchase. It is my daily driver and every day I drive it, I love it that much more. Just amazing.
@KayceeTENA Hmmm.. a 2006 CTS-V under 14 grand??? It is either a base CTS, a flood/salvaged car, or has about 100,000 miles. Was it ever titled in LA around the time Katrina hit?
Nope, the guy who used to drive it just travelled in it, he didnt do anything in the city or anything, so its perfect condition.. and yeah itcame with 110,000 km on it. but i only use it in the city, dont need to worry about how many miles i use. i live in Canada bud!
@sirlonghair Thanks! I have never really tracked it, but i would guess in my daily driving i probably get in the low 20's (I typically drive "reasonable" - slow starts, keep the rpm's low...). If you get into it a little, the gas mileage drops rapidly! (guessing again, it probably drops to the 14 range when your testing the power) Passing slower traffic is never a problem.
LS2 CTS-V is faster than E46 M3 and C55 AMG. Only E92 M3 is faster, and Holden Clubsport R8 (Pontiac G8 GXP). My choice would be G8 GXP over CTS-V. Somewhat lighter and more agile.
Not sure if you're referring to the V1 (2004-2007) or V2 (2009-), but the V1 weighs 3,850 lbs; lighter and also more agile then the 4,050 lbs G8 GXP (also, the Caddy does .91+ lateral Gs vs the GXP's .88).
It's even about 20 lbs lighter than the '10 Camaro SS.
You can't go wrong with the CTS-V or GXP, though. I've driven both (I own an '07 V) and they're both awesome.
If you're referring to the 2009 CTS-V, that's another story (re: weight).
@efyucikavtec13 i doubt theres a governor on it if it will go 163 lol but id say something as small as exhaust or maybe a cai would give you that much more top end, maybe his has that.
@vipman955 and the best part is.... This model CTS-V is VERY affordable! (about $19,500 - $29,000) =D Hell i'd take this over a new ford fusion, toyota camry, nissan altima!
