  • This live is unbelievable, amazing!

  • he does have my respect well rounded to much to list been there and still could give a better speech than the pres, very positive, leads the show, wish I could see but way to much ,madness in the reality thing,,6 stars on my chart! hits all the way home, the boss and him,may had the same babysitter?cool now

  • im so happy he started to sing always again the proper way...i thought we were gonna be stuck wth this left feels right versions of always and bed of roses for the rest of our lives but jon must have taken his vocal coach real seriously the last couple of years, and hopefully stopped smoking for real as well, its quite obvious that his voice is much better than 02-08 ish, even tho its sometimes flatter than it was then, he can reach notes he couldnt then.

  • check this song in Sidney 2010 .He sing not worse than this.

  • Decline in his voice?:O I don't think so

  • This is a good performance but Jon's voice here never did it for me. He sounds more like he's just 'wailing' (sp?) than singing. What do I know, though?

  • jon's voice is soaring here. I do believe his technique has improved since the Slippery days. For example, hte way he finishes verses, expression and musicality. That's one advantage Jon has over other singers - musicality. Does anyone else get what I mean?

  • Jon Bon jovi?

  • @makke86 Well, I at least I find it interesting. I f you don't like it, skip the text over and watch the video. Jon is one hell of a singer!

  • @GoodGuitarSolos I enjoy it to, find it very interesting as im sure others do to.

  • god i love this song!! so cool...from the best bj album too!

  • I'm not a fan anymore but i used to be pretty much into Bon Jovi and for me, his best singing was the Keep The Faith era, but this song was a great vocal performance. Just been looking at some videos, maybe feeling nostalgic. :D

  • actually my fav song from the jersey guys

  • Jovi4ever

    We believe in you Bonjovi

  • love richie's vocal parts

  • Jovi4ever

I luv your voice warms my heart

  • jovi4ever

luv your voice Jon...believe in you

  • gotta love Richie's harmonies.

  • The pope and ayatollah khomeini, highest paid actors , take their costume off on their stage world and you will see both as slave traders.

  • Yes aph2108. The same recording from Onw Wild Night

  • "Though I know I won't win, I'll take this one on the chin"...best part of song

  • @AzEvanz Funny you should say that - Richie's harmonising on this line is the best I've heard!

  • is this the recording on the "one wild night" cd release?

  • don´t bother jon! Remember he had a problem with his voice! Watch the biography!!

    A BON JOVI FAN

  • The last of his voice, but still unappreciated by the orientals. Pisses me off. No respect for the fallen jovi "Talk-So-Tough" voice. What a shame.

  • OMG!!!!!!!! I love this band soo much!!!! Amazing! So beautiful song! Gosh i wanna se them in real!

  • RICHIE IS LEGEND...at 4:10 when richie goes "HOW CAN I BELEIVE IN SIN"..makes me laugh because its so AWESOME

  • wow, that was perfect!

  • Too bad that Jon Can't sing like this anymore!

  • I know :(

there is too different types of jon..

the one we know who sings today with his fame and controlled voice..

and then theres the high pitched young guy who had no limits.

  • Amazing!

  • It'd be stupid 4 him 2 sing hw he used 2 wen he was bout 20 as he's now in his fourties hes adapted and is still the greatest singer and the HOTTEST person in the world!!

  • I can sing as well as he's singing NOW on karaokee... I leave people speachless but I'm not proud of it because I know I'll never reach what he was doing 10-15 years ago. Just listen to this live performance carefully... Unfortunatly we'll never ear this again from this guy!!! Amazing vocals!!!! Because of what he have done he still tall! Now he's singing about experience, no more about young pride time

  • And dont forget about Richie! This guy is still the leader of this group. He's backing Jon in shows when he is in trouble, lead guitar, lead backvocals... and probably he wrote more than half of all bon jovi's albums. Buy Richie's albums you will discover something..!

  • Richie is awesome but he didn't write more than half of bon jovi albums;) This song is written by Jon only, btw.

  • He does not suck! far from it, he's still Jon Bon Jovi and ill always love his music, but ill agree the 80's & 90's were his prime time. and thats the music i love the most from him & the rest of the band

  • Take a look at Axl Rose,Sebastian Bach,Tempest they all were great singers...now they all are almost ridicolus ...jonny's voice has a vantage... it's so particoular and he don't need to scream to be great. He knows how to sing...this performance's huge! I think this means SINGING not SHOUTING as some rockers do... I think jonny's one of the best...the best? RONNIE JAMES DIO through it all ...I still be a BON JOVI'S FAN and I WILL ALWAYS BE.BYE GUYS AND...BY MY GIRLS ;-) (THE ITALIAN PRINCIPE)

  • I think it's really really sad that he can't sing as he used to. We can probely not even imagine how he feels about it. But still, he keeps on singing with the same feel in it, that's so strong.

But what is he wearing exactly?? :D

  • he's a great man - legend

  • ya hsi voice has declined... but man people age.... everyone ages... wat can u do? stop being a fan?

  • Was this song on the DVD the london tour one???

  • You're all talking about his voice but no ones mentioned the trousers yet.....! haha

  • yes his voice has changed its inevitable smoking yes will have been a catalyst but his vocal habits live are totally irrelevant! as far as i can see he dosent cause any damage and he always warms up/down.

he sings what he feels and thats where the magic is! no vocal coach can teach you how to feel!

look at steve tyler! terrible form but yet one of the best rock vocalists alive!

If you sing how you feel you live for the moment not how your voice is gonna be in 10 yrs.

  • It wasnt rly about the smoking, it was after the 95/96 tour that his voice was so badly worn out, he kinda "broke" it, he's only spoken out loudly about it once and he was talking about the end of that tour, the last concerts on that tour sounded like shit, and sadly his voice never regained that power he had in it.

  • Really? I'd love to read/hear that one man...where/when did he speak out about his voice being worn bro?

  • he didn't but you could tell after years of touring his voice was broke after these days. pity.

  • Jon said that in Behind The Music, a VH1 show, after the Crush album. He had problems during the Slippery tour. Their manager said 'It was like general hospital'. Jon said: 'All I could think about was " I can't sing a note. I'll never hit the high notes on Prayer". I had a doctor and they shot me up with steroids. And the worse was knowing you still had four or five months after that [until the end of the tour]'. Try to find that show.

  • It was not because of smoking, though smoking does no good to one's voice.

Imagine:Jon is a singer who has been having problems for more than 20 years(that's almost all his carrier)and still he could surpass them and have amazing performances and last longer than many from his generation. And he IS still a great singer, although the problems got bigger(I think he knew from the begining what was going to happen with his voice). He just chose to fight and he's still fighting(I admire him for that)

  • is there any way through surgery or medical help one can make their voice go higher again?

  • Very true - there's vids of that tour where it is so clear that Jon's voice was shot to hell. Prayer MTV awards 87, SWW tour Never Say GoodBye are two vids that come to mind. To be fair, everyone's voice breaks and sounds 'older' when you age. Although Jon can't sing the old notes, he can still sing notes that are 'too' high for most amateur singers - his vocal technique is still strong. Right now he's still a lot better than most from his generation = "Hope Concert Hallelujah, 13s note"

  • I agree with you, everybody can tell that Jon's voice is weaker compared to his performances from the late 80s and early 90s, but that doesn't mean that he can't sing anymore. Back then, he was an outstanding singer, now he's just a very good one! I listened to him singing hallelujah in the hope concert and I must say that was a great performance, much better than many of his recent ones. It's clear that he's trying to protect his voice as much as possible, but he can still sing pretty high.

  • Jon's change in voice technique also seems to have helped him evolve and change becoming still one of the greatest singers ever. Thank goodness they arent touring with the "where are they now" bands(see poison).

  • Btw, I would like to mention, since we are on this subject, that this vocal chord scare he had was a blessing. B/c I think that he became an even better vocalist than ever before after the SWW tour, even though he had damaged his chords - he went on to do some incredible vocal feats. As evidenced by my tribute vids.

  • i agree. because he didnt rely on the high notes to make the songs he had to rely on a different singing techniques which were more controlled

  • hey dude, what do you mean by nasal sounding?

  • Like he's singing through his nose - it's something that is common to a lot of professional singers when they start to lose their technique.

  • ahhh man. i should try that, but how do you sing through your nose, what benefits does it give your voice?

when i try singing i try and sing from my abs, (sounds wierd) sometimes near the nighttime i can hit a high note, but in morning i am hopeless

  • Yes, I know what you mean. It's not good to push your chords in the morning. I can sing a lot better in the afternoon or so.

  • @evodevo69 i do agree with you that he sang bad i 2002-2006 or 2008 but now in the circle tour he sing a lot better what do yu say about something to believe in at o2 he reaches the high notes dont ya think so??

  • C'mon ffs, look how high pitched he's going.. no wonder his voice couldn't handle it. not even if you downed a million pints of water to sooth your throat can you recover from that.

  • im with sficnic on this one. but the thing is, his voice didnt decline. he just lost capabilities that he had in previous years. yes that is due to age and smoking, but he has the same talents, just not capabilities.

and btw, nice ass Jon. not even kidding on that

  • the best singer ever! point.....and fuck you!i wanna see you sing this song.....

  • i have to admit that last point, you seem to know a lot about bon jovi habit, do you know what kind of bad habbit did he had?

  • evodevo69

did you say that jon's voice start to decline when he perform bed of roses?

  • No, I said that when he performs BRoses, you can hear that his vocals were not as strong as before. I'm not saying that BRoses caused his decline. His vocals started to decline (conjecture) as soon as he started singing with bad and damaging technique live. He always sang with bad technique on record, but live during NJ he had healthy habits.

  • But then 1990 onward he used bad habits during live performances too...this plus smoking + age caused his drastic decline. Now, his voice is all nasal and thin.

  • Jon has an ugly voice now... His voice died in Crush.

  • Excellent vocal. This was his zenith as far as his vocals go, in my opinion.

  • nah, his zenith was definitely during the NJ period.

  • These are quality vocals, similar to "Blaze of Glory" ones. Though, evodevo69's point is accurate, he doesn't whisle (many years earlier thought). Check his stuff out and you'll see. He knows what the hell he's saying.

  • actually folks it isnt a C he is hittin! on the original yes but they play it live a semitone lower!

and jon cant whistle he is merely blending his chest and head voice in living in sin and in i'll be there for u.

  • yea, it's pretty much a consensus that he's not whistling - but u still have to give credit to him for singing those notes, whistle or not - did u hear him do G6 on my other vid?. So he sings D5# live then! In chest for a male, that's still impressive - especially since the guy isn't an opera singer.

  • there are quite a few wrong ideas going on around here

c5 means the c in the 5th octave...in other words tenor C, the c from nessum dorma that pavoroti made very famous. lots of singers, eg jt or usher can all hit the note, but not very powerfully, they most probably used a very strong head voice to hit it. bon jovi has a very powerful chest voice, so he can easily achieve this

  • are you saying that jon can sing b1 in european?

  • snail2,are you sure you can go up to c5 in european?

last time i checked it is really impossible.

  • It's not possible for a male to go above D/E5 in chest voice. Women, maybe up to G6 MAX. Anything above is head or superhead. Jon can't whistle.

  • Are you sure about that? That Jon can't whistle? Watch Living in Sin & Let's make it baby, both of which I've uploaded and get back to me with this. Some say he sings E6, some say E5, obviously it's all by ear and no one is a professional anyway, but I'd like to see what you think.

  • Now that, I'm not sure. To me, personally, it just sounds like a VERY strong head voice. I could be wrong, but I don't think he can. I think it's E6.

  • So u're hearing E6 - that's what most are saying. Is head voice just another term for "falsetto"?

Either way, singing E6 is quite a feat from my understanding...

  • No no, falsetto is quieter than head voice. If you listen closely to something, you'll be able to hear the difference. E.g the start of Bohemian Rhapsody is falsetto. It's quiet and softer than say...Jon's belts here, which are strong head voice. And we all know what whistling is, look up Adam Lopez. Hope this helps :)

  • Jon did sing a couple of G6s(1567,98 hertz)in da song 'Let's make it baby". G6s he sang in dat song sounds fluty(flageolet) whistle-like tone..He could definately whistle...check out that video that Evodevo69 made with that song:-)

  • did you think this c5:

    c1,d1,e1,f1,g1,a1,b1,c2,d2,e2......c3,d3,e3...c4,d4,e4....c5?

  • i m not so sure because in europe if you can hit c3 it is great, but c5 is impossible

  • If there's nothing but survivaaaaall, how can i believe iiinn siiinn?

  • sounds like the highest is B4 which is amazing for a male to hit in chest.

  • IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR A MAN TO HIT B4

  • What the hell...I'm talking B4 in american notation not in european. B4 in european notation is B7 in american notation and yes it is possible. Adam Lopez, Terih, Me :P just to name a few can do it. Men can go just as high as women can they just tend not to because it's 'wierd'.

  • lol...B7, I'm assuming that 7th octave notes are VERY rare for any sex to sing.

  • sorry i meant european notation for both.

  • so you are saying that he can hit ....(what) in european?

  • I've been up to C#5 once in european notation. One of my friends can go up to G#5 in american notation. It's not unusual. My tone is horrible though for my chest register.
