thanks for the comment- I have since this moved the Monos/Scats/ + my puffers(4) and some damsels into a separate saltwater tank and one oscar is dead... thus leaving 55 gallons for a red devil, 2 oscars, and a high-fin emperor..
few things...
1. An Oscar will never be capable of killing off a high fin emperor unless the size differential makes it so.. and in this case.. it isn't so.
2. It also cannot in any way kill monos this big.. they're simply way too fast.
it really depends- I have not- but my fish were originally in freshwater when I bought them- so they might be used to it. For instance, some scats and Monos are sold at Big Al's in Fresh- some in salt.. you really have to just do what they did at the store- and obviously as Brackish water fish get bigger (these are small) you can add some Marine salt. Coral is usually a good idea as well. After reading this I just moved the 2 guys into their own brackish tank lol. I think it's time.. 6 inches
hey man i have almsot identicle fish to you i have a green spotted puffer and an iridescent shark and an emperor id shark(paroon) but do you have to have salt water for the GSP?

beautiful tank, but may i suggest getting 1 more columbian shark? they thrive in groups of 3+

Your Oscars are going to kill everything in that tank. And they do get to be about 15 inches and 55 gallon tank is really small for 3 oscars alone.
