Julie *________* she has the best voice of all those who sang this ,but i like Elizabeth Taylor's version most. She makes my cry when i listen to her .R.I.P Elizabeth :''(
Candice Bergen turned down an Emmy (actually had her name removed from the list of those nominated) for Murphy Brown. She had won many playing Murphy and she noted it was beginning to grate with the rest of the cast.
Yes, she has a magnificent voice and crisp diction, but that alone is never enough. Miss Andrews also has an abundance of feeling for this song. This would be my 2nd favourite after Dame Judi Denches rendition.
Andrews should have done the film version ages ago. She is perfect for this role. Exquisite. This was the best Tony broadcast of all time with gem performances by Gwen Verdon, Chita Rivera, Liza Minnelli, Dorothy Loudon and so many other great stars.
Love Julie too, but this is definitely not the best version of this song. In fact, Catherine Zeta Jones actual performance on Broadway (NOT her rendition on the Tony Awards show--for some reason she sang it differently on the Tony Awards show) was much better than Julie's in this video. However, Julie looks beautiful here.
i agree with ladyracheltheghetto catherine needs to see this such grace, poise, and little movement, yet we can feel the emotion and feeling she's putting into it. Only Julie Andrews could do this, i simply adoreee her <3 she is the best.
THANKS for this clear version of my favorite video of all time. Julie's looks, voice and manner make her the most beautiful and talented lady who has ever lived. Also, utube has her singing "Whistling Away the Dark", the second best vid ever. Some of those other versions are really quite lovely and I see their appeal, but Julie is in a higher category all by herself. Thanks again, quite sure I'll be watching this at least 19,837 times.
SOO beautiful! beautiful dress, beautiful jewelry, beautiful hair, beautiful face, beautiful voice, beautiful SOUL! it doesnt get any more gorgeous than this.

If Julie were even 5 years younger her version would be about ten thousand times better still. Catherine needs some lessons from the pro.

I love Julie Andrews but this isn't a patch on Ruthie Henshall's version (also available on YouTube).
Sorry.

So far I like her version the best but she never actually did the show so the capability to find the Cast Album with her singing it is ziltch.
