yeah RTT8001 is right, there is a massive memory filter on music of old. we forget the bad and remember the good. There is still good music coming out, music is just so accessible now and theres so much of it you just have to look through alot more crap to uncover the good stuff.

Jimmy was born in Florida USA in 1944. I feel that he never had the success that his voice deserved..... Great voice!!!

I remember a radio station in the early to middle 90's when i was a kid played this song all the time, as well as others such as UB40 Here i am (come and take me) Ace of base wheel of fortune and many other great songs of the 90's . That station was the now defunct Atlantic 252 on long wave. What a great station it was.

This brother Jimmy Helms is a bad dude! When I first heard this song it was right beside the video here that I'm watching. The video performance along with his soulful voice, helped me to believe there was something special about him. Now I later find out that Jimmy Helms was indeed a well respected and achieved singer from the early 70's. I flew to my archives and found him in one of my 70's greatest hits compilation. His 70's hit "Gonna make you an offer you can't refuse" is CLASSIC!!!

SHAPOWPOW!! A happy song from an era when music was real. It makes you feel alive and happy. The artist of today (Britney, Gaga, Bieber, Rhianna, Timberlake, ect) need to go to the vault and learn some. This is real pop music and done with none of the imitation the new garbage has. The record companies are dying like pay phones died because they haven't rolled with the changes in technology. If the music today sounded as good as London Beat they wouldn't have cried over Napster.
