Yes, it is very sad. I am not sure if the root cause is yet known. Of course low altitude high speed flight significantly increases risk of fatalities due to the limited response time available to countermeasure such events as birdstrike, engine flameout, pilot blackout, and simple pilot altitude miscalculation (when executing a maneuver). Many great pilots have been lost in this way. Sad sad sad.
I use FSRecorder. It is software that allows the sim pilot to record his/her flight session, playback, and then record a second, third, or fourth flight alongside prerecorded flights. If done correctly (at hight frame rates), you can achieve smooth formation flight. It works best in FS9 (Flight Simulator 2004), but also can be used in FSX. Hope this helps. - Morgan
man u are the best!!! check my original music channel called " bbuteo " our newest song " late as hell " you do compose music too right?? really nice brother
Thanks... but I try to remain humble. Yes, I did check out your music channel. I love it. You guys are very inspirational to me (and others). I wish I had more courage (like you) to create and publish music. I do compose music (soundtracks) for all of my videos, but I am not talented to play instruments like you guys. I will continue to try to learn to play well like you. Let's stay in contact.. ok.
Keep up the good work! the graphics are amazing! It seems real! Its the best and realistic reds video I've ever seen! By the way... can you please tell me where you get the model of the plane? Once again...WELL DONE!!!!!
nice flying but the red arrows hawk aircraft dont have electronic huds if u want im also part of a red arrows fsx team were just called fsx red arrows check it out!
Hi there... I am currently using a Intel QX6700 Quad core, Nvidia 680i motherboard, 2.75 GB of DDR2 800Mhz ram, one Nvidia 8800GTX, and a 10,000 rpm Velociraptor hard drive.
This is not REX. This is default cloud textures and the sceneries are all TileProxy.
Thanks for the positive feedback. The Acceleration pack is required in order to use the cockpit instrumentation of the aircraft shown in this video, but the aircraft itself is a freeware download. Once you have installed FSX Acceleration, Google search for Dino Cattaneo T-45 Goshawk. Unfortunately I do not know of a Red Arrows repaint of Dino's T-45, so this video features a FS2004 freeware Hawk for all external aircraft views. Basically I used two aircraft to make this vid.
You are correct... most of the cockpit views are using Dino Cattaneo's T-45. The exterior views are using a T-45 ported from FS9. This helped with the frame rates. I have been looking for a Red Arrows repaint for Dino Cattaneo's T-45, but have not been able to find one. Let me know if you find a posting somewhere. Thanks!
Hi there. Very observant of you! Actually the simple answer is that since I have an interest in so many different aircraft, that I use freeware almost exclusively, and the T-45 repaint (to look like the Hawk) was available. Since this vid was published to YouTube others have informed me of decent payware Hawk, but I do not fly the Hawk that much to make the investment. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks for the positive feedback. As for the soundtrack, I do not have it available on-line at the moment; however, I will see if I can find the master track and burn off a high quality .mp3 and upload it to my web server and send you a link for download, alright?
Good eye. QX6700 is my quad core Intel processor. I am trying to be up front with viewers that I did not really fly each individual aircraft in the tight formation scene starting from 2:35. There are some flight sim gurus out there that really can manage this kind of tight formation flying, but not me, not in FSX. I really respect those with the skills. Anyway, I used some special techniques / functions available with FSRecorder software to create the tight formation effect.
I did not fly each individual aircraft in the tight formation scene from 2:35. I used my computer, QX6700 to run a tiny program to create the illusion of aircraft being flown in super tight formation.
As for the rest of the video, I created each scene, flew the aircraft, set the camera shots, recorded the video, composed the musical score, edited, and mixed the musical score, and edited the video to the musical score... but to be fair, my computer QX6700 really did all the hard work.
Pennyfour, first of all I want to say I love your videos. Tileproxy and FSX has NEVER looked so great and smooth, and the music you combine with the videos fits perfectly!
Can you please tell me what your LOD_RADIUS and level_mappings are set to? I have tileproxy going smooth @ 170 kts, but never as crisp and smooth at the speeds you fly at!
Thanks a lot for the positive feedback. As far as TileProxy settings. I honestly do not use anything special. Of course, when I make vids I tend to fly over the same area a lot, so the tiles are already loaded in, or are on disc. Also, I use a 10,000 RPM drive for TileProxy, which makes a difference.
Damn Penneyfour, you hands down have the best FSX video's on the web, another superb effort. Talent like yours however deserves the skysim hawk, so get it! ;) Iv never flown FSX online but iv been practising my formation flying with fsrecorder, maybe one day il join up and have a go?
All the best, keep these amazing video's coming... im off to get tileproxy i think :)
I think your system will handle it just fine, i know your very clever at editing etc but your system must be pretty good to create these superb video's. While on the subject of Hawks..... what does the mach loop look like with Tile proxy? a good hawk and a realistic Mach loop will surely be simulation heaven ;)
To be honest, all external views of aircraft are the FS9 freeware T-45 Goshawk with the Hawk T1 repaint (used in FSX). I did not get good performance from the freeware Hawk T1 that I found online. All cockpit shots were actually taken from inside the FSX T-45 Goshawk by Dino Cattaneo... I would love to find a native Hawk T1 for FSX.
Setting up the shots and editing took most of the time... about one week. My computer is very glitchy, so some of the best scenes had to be deleted due to framerate issues and glitches... I am wanting a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM soon. That should smooth things out.
Thanks... but I can't take all the credit. The tight formations were flown by my QX6700 (CPU), not me. All the rest of it was me though. Anyway, thanks.
