@Ballyweg XMediaRecode will not open my file. It's a .blend file, I'm not sure if I have done something wrong in the process, although I have followed every step; I was wondering if you know how to help? Thank you.
After you have rendered the Video file (which takes a few hours) you should locate the .avi file (where you saved the video). When you have located the AVI file, then you convert it with XMediaRecode. I am again referring to the bottom of the video description, where this whole procedure is described.
HELP.. i did everything you told me, i followed everything but it won't play. on quiktime and windows media player.. it says "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." idk what went wrong but i need this intro for windows movie maker for a project.. please help!
PLEASE read the description or the previous comments. The rendered file needs to be converted afterwards with any conversion program. Tip: super or xmedia recode. Use DivX Avi for best results.
If I want the globe to wrap with a moving texture, like a video, is that possible and how can I do that?
For example, I could make a timelapse of the earth which contains a simulation of 4.54 billion years of moving continents from the begining until now and want that video to UVunwrap to the surface of the globe, will that be possible?
I am sorry, I don't know how to do that. But it might be possible. Try asking thr folks at backyardtheatre(dot)com. They are the experts. I wish you the best. Bally
Its me again Ballyweg,,,only took 1 hour 45 minutes,,,and it looks fantastic,,,,,THANK YOU SO MUCH,,,if i dont here fom you,,well the i just want to wish you a HAPPY CHRISTMAS,,and a GREAT NEW 2011.
Hi Ballyweg,,my attempt is rendering as i type this,,,il let you know if it came out ok,,cant see why it shouldnt,,as did a lot of happy people here,,i want to thank you sincerely for an excellent tutorial,,all this tech stuff is completely new to me,but im willing to learn,,your a great Tutor,,i really appreciate,,once again THANK YOU.
It depends on how you rendered (what format). Easiest way is to either: 1. Import it into Windows Movie Maker and Save the video file "for computer". 2. Use XMedia Recode to convert the video to something usable. Then play using normal Media Player.
Normally it renders either to C:\renders or to "the folder where you saved the .blend file"\renders. To check it, open up the blend file and press F10. Then look at the bottom right and take a look at the first directory under "Output". Thats where you should look.
When I play my intro in Quicktime, Windows media player etc..... its always buffering meaning that it plays for a short while then "buffering XX%" and then plays again. Do you know what could be the explanation? Thanks
Im not sure what the problem is. I you sure you rendered the entire sequence (waited for severeal hours to render the intro)? What format did you choose when rendering? Try converting the video with a converting program like XMedia Recode.
blend cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec
this is what it says when i try to open it on windows movie maker can you help me?
Thanks A lot man! One question on my mind though..I cant seem to figure out how to find the renders folder! I finished animating it and trying to search in all of my directories, but still no luck. Im trying to import it into sony vegas..Any help?!
After you have gone trough the long rendering process, the video is rendered (by default as avi) in a folder called "renders" as a subfolder of the one where you saved the .blend project file. You can change this before you render on the left handside in the "Output" (F10) tab.
@TheJosephwayne Search for the RENDERS folder in the place you open the .blender project. Like if you didn't moved it after the download and opened it it sould be in the downloads folder of your browser.
hmm did everything correct made it into avi raw then try to open it with windows movie maker/windows media player classic/ and flv and it wouldn't open on any of them any clue why?
It should be no problem to play it directly after render. If you have any problems with the codec, try to import and export movie to Windows Movie Maker or download a video conversion program like Prism.
I was wondering if you could create one for me. I have tried several times and the ending doesn't come out right. My title name is to the far left. I dunno why.
Try redownloading the original files, then do all the steps. At step 1 (where you change the name) ensure text size and position are right. Also make sure you add the right keys at the right frame number set.
When I click anim it doesnt play, Just a dull screen. and then I just went on and when I clicked on the video file it was just a second of the whole thing.
When you click anim, the film will start rendering. This will take much time. Be patient. After approx. 3-6 hours you will have the whole sequence. Lowering the quality will make it render faster.
Normally at the location of your .blender file in a folder called Renders. You can change the Render location in the Render tab in the left under "Output" in the first box.
Thank you very much Tony, your instructions are so clear and precise. Appreciate the lesson very much.
