Eh... I've always thought that the WWE could have made this storyline great. The initial promos and stuff, the idea that Vince would have brought the nWo to kill his own company, the overall starpower of Hogan, Hall and Nash - all this could have worked very nicely and it could have been epic. Of course, the WWE screwed everything up.
@AmericanNohbuddy Hogan's face turn killed the group's momentum, along with the fact that they never won a big match. After WrestleMania it was impossible to look at them and pretend they were a legit threat. Hall getting fired and Nash's injury are bad luck, but the WWE could have tried to build up nWo's most important kayfabe facet - they spread quickly like a cancer; by the time Nash tore his quad, the nWo should have been far more stronger presence than X-Pac, Big Show & Booker T (continue).
@AmericanNohbuddy (continued from last responce) I think they could have made it work after HBK came as the new leader - he was a strong enough heel figure to replace Hogan in the role - but apparently Nash's unfortunate injury was the last nail in the coffin.
And, after all, it was already 2002. The nWo's time was long past at this point. Truth is, it got old even before WCW's bankruptcy. Still, I think that it could have been handled better in the WWE.
nWo was never gonna be the same in wwf as it was in wcw, mainly because Hogan and Nash ran wcw and Bitchoff was so in love with hogan that he went along with all the desicions hogan made, but in wwf Vince had the final say on everything and wasn't about to put an ingreat like hogan over the guys that stayed loyal, became bigger than the 3 nwo members and helped Vince win the war
This should be the new nWo theme song for the 2012 group which would be Triple H , Kevin Nash , Shawn Michaels , and 2 other mid-card heels (like the Miz and Dolph Ziggler). Call them nWo Apocalypse
Harmless? Come on now you can't say that when 3 guys who weren't in the company were getting bigger pops then the "homegrown" superstars at the time, that is nothing but harmless? Your either dumb or a blind Austin mark.
for some1 who's a 47 year old, u're sure acting like a dumb, complete blind-sided, immature prick. true the nwo made their presence known, but austin & the rock maintained their relevance & their popularity even when they showed up. during their so-called "reign" they met their match with rock & austin as well. fuck, if hate the a.e. stuff then act ur goddamn age & stay away from watching it u miserable cocksucker.
~_~ Look like someone is really butthurt about a simple comment that is proving to be true. I am a 47 year old man who knows more about wrestling then you would ever know so please do me a favor and don't respond back to this. Austin and The Rock was getting booed *especially The Rock* and when the nWo came back in 2002, it was the cherry on the proverbial top. They may have stayed "relevant" because of how they were booking the nWo at the time.
yep, an old, naive man at his pitiful worse...an old man with his head up his ass. sure rock got booed, but he got his pops on as well. in the end, those two went out proudly with a bang in the very end. it may be true that u may "know" (i use that term loosely) more, but u obviously should KNOW with ur incessant bullshit on other vids that you have no goddamn sense. so do urself a favor & take that rotten cherry, turn it sideways & stick it up ur candy-ass!
the best part about the nWo in WWF was HBK retuned

How did WWE screw it up? Hogan was cheered so he turned face, Hall got fired because he's Scott Hall, and eventually Nash would get injured.

nWo was a total joke anyway, and they were all past their prime.
Nothing replaces Hall, Nash, and Hogan. It's better the nWo died. It should have died in 1998 or even when Sting beat Hogan at Starrcade.
