With all those tools and your meter hanging there, you do look like a tech! Maybe the black wire used to be some sort of thermostat wire at one point, strange thing is that it only has 2 wires inside.

@HVACKID94 yep!. I just want my grandparents, (since my grandfather is retired) to have a more efficient system. Something that will save them some money.
