This was a spirit spot for the Army/Navy football game. The T1000 is wearing an Army cadet uniform. The T800 is wearing a Navy midshipman uniform.

Yes. Obviously not in real time. The filming was in stop motion, but the easiest way for me to break the legs was with the liquid N2

I used a program called Adobe After Effects. It's a composite of about 3 or 4 different shatter effects in order to have pieces of different sizes and speed

Just a lego man and some model paint

That was the easy part; silver model paint. The only downside is that it tends to rub off when handling the figures. Also, in order to make any previously painted features stand out you have to make it textured. In this case I used electrical tape to outline the front of his tunic and the rank on his shoulder.
