As this unit is a modified one, the signal to noise ratio has been improved. A large number of components have been upgraded and noise is not much of an issue any more. The ground at the test patch is pretty bad though....noisy for almost all detectors!
Both coils were DD, one standard black Extreme coil, the other a standard 3000 DD coil.
Good Video Andy, just wish I could of added the new Fets to the input stage before you got it back. Just think how a modded GP-3000 performs.... or a 3500.

The Extreme has 10 times the ground noise which would drive me nuts wouldn't like that. Also your not using the same coil. Is one a mono and one dd?
