  • I jammed with Tommy Crook, Autry Rutledge, and other ones such as Carl Romine. I also played with Eldon Shamblin in the Caravan Ballroom when Shril owned it. I often wondered what happened to them. I know that Eldon passed away, but does anyone know if any of the other ones are still around?

  • I first met Tommy Crook in the 60's. He worked at The Guitar House in Tulsa. Originally, this guitar shop was owned by Shril Cummins, Charlie Nole, Roy Fergeson, Betty Cummins, Big John Cummins, Zeen all worked there. Autry Rutledge - Eldon Shamblin of Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys and Brace Phillips and Me. It was the most happening guitar house in Tulsa and talk about meeting talented people- Wow!

  • I once heard that Roy Clark was asked by Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show, who the greatest guitarist in the world was. Roy said Tommy Crook in Tulsa, OK.

After hearing that I looked him up and found Tommy playing live at a little Italian restaurant on Harvard Ave. in Tulsa about 18 years ago. He was having a bad night - as in a bad mood - but man could that guy play guitar.

  • Tommy Crook is ,without a doubt, one of the GREATEST!!....an absolutely incredible player. Thanks for posting this video!
