@chirasinjari If you want to curl your hair easier, you should run through it with the straightener before curling it.

@ScatterBeckied since your hair is so short try using something like pencils when your hairs wet and use something to keep it in place. It will give you the perfect curls after a little practice. Thats what i do.

i just ordered the herstyler classic forever and i got it today, but i dont think the plates spin.....are there certain herstylers that spin and some that dont or is there just a way to activate the spinning :)

@avril0923 Well, I think it only works better on shoulder length hair or longer, since you've to be able to twist your hair around the flat iron.. Probably can with a half inch flat iron?

I have three questions:

1. How long does it take for thin hair? Does it take longer than a curling iron?

2. I have the same herstyler (classic forever), and I tried it but I didn't get a pretty curl, and I really want it to last like they do to me at the kiosks at the mall (I got mine on ebay)

3. I tried to curl mine (without being washed) but I'm afraid to burn my hand, and it hurts my wrist because I grab it too tight and twist my wrist, how do you avoid the burning and stuff? thanks:)

1. about 20-30 mins

2. Probably it's not hot enough. Leave it heating up a little bit longer, at least 15 mins.

3. Umm I just twist it with both hands. You just need practice. You're hands will get used to it.

I have a question. When I do this, and no my hair isn't too thick or thin and no it isnt just washed or too greasy and yes I have a salon brand Iron that gets to a high enough temperature, but anyways when I do this it works for the first few sections but then it just stops curling and it just sorta kinks the top and flattens. what is going on and how can I stop it. please press reply to comment or I wont know if you helped.

@mogster666 It might be a salon brand but your hair may be to thick for the flat iron, so i sugguest you get a better one. If your go to gurnee theres a expert one, i'll try to get a picture to show you. My friend has the same problem, but when i curl it it last for 3 days :D

i have super thin and super straight hair. using the flat iron method works. it depends on what flat iron you're using. i've tried it with the cheaper kinds you can get at walmart/target and it didnt really curl. but i went and got the chi and it worked. it stays in all day without any hairspray

maybe you haven't prepared it before. try using some product on it, like a lotion for wavy hair (use it when your hair isn't dry yet!!) and then try. I think that might work. I have naturally curly hair but when i plan to make it wavy, i use the lotion, then straighten it and theeen do the waves, or else it doesn't work.

hi. i find its better if when curlying or straightening if you use the opposite hand to do the hair. its a lot more easy and you can get closer to the scalp. (so when straightening your right side use your left hand and the same for the other side just opposite). anyway. it still was a good tutorial good job. big thumbs up.

I have shoulder-length hair, and it worked just fine! :) I don't even have a CHI. Haha. I did it three days ago, and my hair still has curls in it. That never happened when I just used a curling iron! Just try small pieces/sections of hair. Once you get the hang if it, it doesn't take very long at all. Best of luck!
