The old bass player used a five string tuned acgcf. He doesnt touch the top string once during akeldama making it a good song to cover on a four string. Just learned this solo myself and this video helped. Thanks alot keep bassing!

@hottopic789 1 whole step down + drop C tuning. If u wanna make it sound the same without tuning ur instrument for just one piece, just play 2 frets lower. It will require some transposing to get a few notes the same. The Faceless bassist uses a 4 string.

This solo is all jazz, and if you put the sheet music in front of that tool, I don't think he would be so good at getting it down sight reading. Nice solo by the way, I learned an easier way though on 4 string with drop C tuning, but this one helped me learn it too. Nice job.

polarpete im a young bassist and i had the same problem when i started

i usually practice scales and play a lot of jazz and funk but i play in a death/metalcore band.

Start on pentatonic scales. Learn the cycle of fourths and learn your blues scales if you can. Then after practicing that for a while have some fun and play along/learn some songs you like

its pretty much up to you but i would recomend scales, aand technique
