  • I like this video - we would like to display it as part of the marketing material we use with our digital signage products - is this possible please advise who to contact.

  • im deaf.. i love this :)

  • I am Deaf and I enjoyed this commercial. I heard some things about an Association called AG Bell and they were very upset about Pepsi having an ASL commercial. Does anyone now anything about this?

  • @cntwejstprtnd Hey! That is what I was learning in ASL today. Apparently the AG Bell association is all about the oralist movement rather than signing. My teacher said that a big letter exchange got heated the day after this was airred. But NDA (National Deaf Association) stepped up and said that signing is the voice of the Deaf. Or something like that. :)

  • Great commercial.

  • awesome!!

  • welcome to real deaf world! ;D

  • I wonder if this ever really happened?

  • Date deaf people near you! ----Deafornot dot c om----

    Welcome to join us!

  • The best part is when he said... oh wait, did he say anything?

  • LOVE THIS COMMERCIAL! sooooo funny! I been learning ASL for 6 years! I love it! :D

  • Wow, Marleen, hat was a mouthful, er, handful

  • that was dumb.

  • HAHAHAH way to be resourceful

  • I loved it!!!!!!! So funny!

  • This commercial is awesome.

  • I don't mean to sound ignorant in any way shape or form. So don't reply to this comment unless you have a serious answer. How can deaf people drive a car if they can't hear? Is it just for the commercial? I ask this because I know certain people with epilepsy can't drive and I know that deaf people wont be able to hear horns or sirens. Just curious.

  • @pedanpontif

If you roll up all of your car's windows and driving with sounds from your car's engine, radio, and road, you are not much better than Deaf people.

Therefore, I think Deaf people should not be prevented from driving - if they are able to pass the driving examination.

  • @pedanpontif most deaf people install something that usually vibrates or rocks in the car and a deaf person is regular just like anyone else and if they don't use the rocking or device to feel something they rely on their mirrors a lot, i go to a college with deaf people and they drive just fine with extra features or by using their mirrors.

  • @pedanpontif

All you need do is, pass written test, eyes test, road test. I'm deaf, and able to drive.

  • I think it was said best by members of the Deaf Community. Deaf can do anything Hearing can do except hear. As a visitor to the Deaf Community for over 15 years I've seen the truth to that statement. I've met Deaf that have Doctorate Degrees as well as Deaf that are mechanics, hold down full time jobs in several fields including companies such as Boeing and Microsoft. To them they show they are "ABLED" not DISABLED.

  • Love this!! the dog's captions kill me (Bark!) (Bark!) too funny!

  • OMG i am deaf and i love this! I do have Implants on both ears and i love them! this commercial really opens up to how good the deaf community is! like if your mom is yelling at you, you dont have to hear her! :D

  • Sexy Asian women **busizz4me.info**

  • The counselor on a deaf community Deafornot dot c om said that "People who may be defined as clinically deaf (unable to hear spoken language) may or may not be members of the Deaf community."

  • hahha This commercial is Funny (:

  • @ GCD231: I agree, the glory pitch they did at the beginning, did knd of ruin the whole aspect of " wow thatscool, they're signing" , I think though, that we kind of have to ignore some things in order for the other aspects not to be ruined... You are right, it's at the very least a step in the right direction... @ daefornot: you want to distribute spam, take it to England or Hawaii.... Not YouTube.......

  • this really made me laugh. It was hilariouse and creative. there should be more of these commercials out there

  • I like this!

  • Lol love this Commercial My Deaf Teacher Showed this to our class and we loved it (:

  • That was great! I absolutely loved it.

  • As much as I love companies reaching out to other groups of people, I absolutely hate it when they make a giant deal about it. The section before and after the commercial were pretty unnecessary in my opinion.

If I had just seen the commercial alone, I would be like "Wait, that's awesome! They're signing!" The "WE ARE SIGNING BECAUSE WE SUPPORT EVERYBODY NOW WATCH!" Just comes off as tacky to me =/

At least it's a STEP in the right direction...

  • @GCD231 I agree, but as you said, it's a good step - maybe without the setup in the beginning, too many people would have been more than half way thru the commercial before they figured out what is going on....what bugs me is that I have not seen this commerical at any other time, it should not just be a superbowl commercial..too good for that.

  • deafmatching dot c om is an online community for deaf, ASL and hearing-impaired friends and singles!

Have fun with photos, message boards, chat, blog and more.

  • BRAVO!!!! i LOVE IT! Great job pepsi!

  • haha, (BARK)

  • HAHA great to see publicity supporting ASL/Deaf culture and using a widely-popular Deaf joke!

  • That would probably piss me off if i learned that i was woken cause someone didnt know an adress. Just as I dont go around strobing deaf people.

  • if they were going to someones house to watch, wouldnt they atleast know their house number? And I think more of the street would be awake

  • I'm hard of hearing. This ad is really funny! hahahaha!!

  • i don't understand how did the last deaf guy "hear" the bell ring?? funny haha

  • The lights flash when they ring the doorbell...

  • LOL

  • My ASL professor told me to look this up too.. it's hilarious

  • hahaha funny!!!!! :)

  • a little weird without the audio but so funny

    hahahahah

  • hahaha took me a while to get it...

  • My ASL teacher showed this in class today. It's hilarious. I love sign!

  • I was so mad when i found out there was a group protesting this.......... Signing is a great way to communicate!

  • Way too funny!

  • Haha. My ASL teacher told me to come home and look this up. This is great.

  • Comment removed

  • My ASL teacher showed this video in class, HILARIOUS! = ) plus i think it did a fine job at raising deaf awareness. well done Pepsi.

  • somethings wrong with my audio.

  • ummm... what do you mean? there isn't audio.

  • it took me a while to understand that...it's funny, but what does pepsi has to do with it all? i know it's their ad but. how does it relate?

  • they were trying something different. and as one of the actors in the ad said, you don't see any deaf ads ever. it's just nice to be inclusive of all communities and pepsi was the first :)

  • hahah this was great.. but in sign language .. how do you say someones name? you spell it out?

  • yes

  • Yes, you spell it out, especially when you first meet someone. Then if you have a name sign you can tell them that and use it instead of spelling it out all the time.

  • HA HA HA HA HA HA..awesome

why Hearing people hate this >.>

  • Do hearing people hate this?

  • i'm hearing and I love it! it's time people embrace the deaf community!

  • Im deaf and thats hilarious!!!

  • they wanted to find out where their friend lives, he is deaf...so they made some noise, the house that didn't turn on the light was him.

  • JackTvOnline

you dont get it HAHAHA you fucking stupid..

  • Omg that's hilarious!

  • VERY NICE!!

  • lol this funny

    lol

they lost house not know haha lol

always make sur knew where house at before start drive lol

  • Haahh. Thaat waz funnt xD

  • i guess thats the only way to find ya deaf friends house! thats hilarious!!lol

  • LOL! That is an awesome idea. XD

  • I love this commercial!!

  • LOL!

  • lol, hilarious, that's some good thinking there

  • my best friend's dad is the guy on the left, and i can tell you right now that he really is deaf and thought the commercial was funny, and he wanted to do it. so the people with perfect hearing that find this offensive, youre stupid.

  • very funny

  • Come on people it was funny, stop thinking so much. I'm glad to see commercials that show different types of people. I dont find hitting someone in the nuts funny but it seems to work for some. Enjoy it, this was a witty commercial.

  • To ScionOfMonkeys and 1PAcouchpotato:

I am not deaf but I highly resent those comments. Obviously Bob is deaf too, and since neither of them knew which house was his they did what they had to in that situation. It would be just as bad and harder to go up and down the street ringing everyones door bell. It would make sense to honk the car horn since his light would be the only one that wouldnt go on. What should they do? go home and find a phone book??? You wouldnt do that, would you?????

  • i know for a fact that living in the deaf world is very very hard..my little brother is deaf and i enjoy watching these commersals...

  • Classic example of hearing ignorrance. A deaf person does something that bothers a hearing person and they are a jerk, a hearing person offends the deaf person and that's too bad. And people wonder why hearies like myself struggle in the deaf community.

  • Its the other way around this is a hearing world its the deaf that struggle due to ignorance on the hearing worlds part for not making it their mission to understand the deaf more. The rejection for deaf is a lot higher in all avenues of the hearing world.

  • lol. that was cool.

  • I remember presenting an ad campaign for an Oral B toothbrush. The client said: "How does that work for people with false teeth?" I was like, geez, a bit too late for them now ain't it.

  • I found the lack of product to be the most noticeable reason why it would not be used as a SB ad. I'm a diversity leader where I work and I'm going into advertising. I felt this was an amazingly well done commercial. Maybe there should have been audio for the audience who can hear, crickets or something to show how quiet it is before they start honking and then the honking too, however that might have taken from the commercials overall effect. For 1 min. you were "deaf", that's powerful.

  • The point to no sound was to make it from a deaf point of view. In reality it's a hearing world, deaf people just live there. The commercial is supposed to reverse that. It's a deaf world, Hearies just live there. I think it was an awesome commercial and probably would have done well if used as a superbowl ad

  • yes it did, it was in the pre-game

  • i appreciate ads like this

  • wowow that was beautiful !!! i loved it! whoever finds it acceptable to give the hearing impared negative feedback should be ashamed of themselves! and grow up a bit. awesome job!

  • This commercial is great! I loved it!

Pookatube, why do you think it is so bad?

Most of us, especially Deaf people and those involved in the Deaf community, enjoyed it very much.

What did you dislike about it?

  • That got a belly laugh.

  • haha. I did a report on this commercial a month before it aired. "which house is Bobs?!"

    amazing.

  • hahahahahah i get it :)

  • that was awesome

  • haha that was really cutee.

  • I am doing a paper on PepsiCo and I found this video in my research. They did a great job.

  • smarttt

  • I never saw this one because my friend's projector TV broke. nor did I watch it in my ASL class.

  • im in love with asl i dont know what lass i would have taken if asl wasnt there.....

  • I just love this commercial, My ASL teacher showed it to me.

  • We watched this clip in our ASL class today and it is totally awsome!

  • what a great way for hearies to understand Deaf culture, I wish they did it DURING the superbowl instead of pregame (which barely anyone watches). I'm hearing, but I do fully respect and understand Deaf culture, and am half-fluent in sign language (I taught myself and my friend's mom is deaf and my friend taught me sign too). I want to see more of these commercials!

  • Before you trip over yourself by saying how neat it is, please take this into account. A college President was forced from her job because she was not "deaf enough" and therefor could not possibly understand her students. Learning is learning. She was discriminated against because she was not deaf enough as opposed to someone who was because they are. Yes I know sign language and worked in a school for the deaf. Include ALL people, not just a few. Good commercial but it is pandering. I am deaf.

  • It only makes sense that a Deaf University be led by someone who is Deaf. You don't see Black Universities run by white people, or the Catholic Church run by a southern baptist. A hearing person, no matter how much they love, honor, value, and respect Deaf culture, can ever related with the Deaf. The Deaf can do anything -- including run their own university.

The main biggest problem during the DPN was that the hearing admin. knew nothing about, nor did she respect Deaf culture.

  • it's so funny :-)

  • haha wow; the best commercial since messin' with sasquatch feeer suuuure.

  • ..... O NOW I GET IT! It means he was deaf... nice commercial ;D

  • haha, my sign language teacher showed us this the other day in class. man this was funny!!

  • LMAO dis is so funny!

  • Funny video

Nice to know Pepsi can be a bit imaginative while honestly recongising whole segment of population we take for granted.

  • Congratulations. How'd you find it out? Did you - GASP - actually read the video description, where it is obviously stated?

  • JudgeDread, I've no clue what you are responding to.

Anyway, I got the video from somenbody deaf, 99% of the responses are clearly from deaf people.

Video is very funny and inclusive. Nuff said.

Great for Pepsi, to be so inclusive. I hope these actors have more adds in the future that are funny and use SIGNS. Mabye other advertisers will also target that huge largely untapped market.

  • This is peculiar.

I'd swear I was replying to a specific comment, yet my response ended up in the main list...

  • Oh. So, now we are forbidden from criticizing anyone? Well, have you noticed how all the journalists are hypocrites? They are criticizing the Neo-Nazis, even though they are not Neo-Nazis, so what would they know? Same with paedophilia: I've noticed that a lot of people criticize paedophiles, even though they aren't one of them!

  • It all came together at the end. Cool commercial lol

  • HAHAHA I <3 this commercial!!! My deaf teacher adores this commercial!!!!

  • omg that was kinda funny~ YEA THEIR SOLUTION 2 THIS PROBLEM WAS A GREAT 1~ OMG AT FIRST I THOUGHT MY VOLUME WAS BROKE CUZ THERE WAS NO TALKING

  • too bad FOX canceled this commercial for the SuperBowl. what assholes

  • THATS why i couldn't find it!? argh! i hate sports and i only watched it cause i heard that this was gonna be in the commercials. i waited the whole entire time to see it T_T

  • It was on during pregame when I watched.

  • Why would everyone's lights be dark right before kickoff? hmm...

  • i fell bad for all of the deaf poeple..they can never live life to the fullest..but always seem o have better lives than people who aren't hearing impared..i guess life is a puzzle like that...lose one thing..and gain another..the best life you could ever live! :-)

  • hey idiot, you see lot of successful deaf people work at fortune companies, owns huge dairy, cattle and farms. you dont have to be regret!

  • My deaf brother loves this commercial & its good showing ASL is a complete language.

  • that sucks

  • why the fuck are you watch this video!

  • That's the point, they're DEAF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LOL, REAL? XD

  • that was hilarious , id do the same thing lol...i dont knoe sign language even though im hearing impaired (hate implants) its good to see it provided subtitles too

  • for some reason after i download this vid, it will not encode like the rest of the tube vids ._. i'd like to put it on my psp but it won't encode

  • im deaf too but i dont sign langue i talk im implanted

  • lol that was great ^^

  • It's so awesome that this will boost hearing people's awareness that ASL is a full language! :)

  • Hahaha this is a good step in the direction to bring the deaf community and the hearing community closer together. Loved it!

  • when i saw this i was so happy. i'm hard of hearing and going to be deaf by the time i'm 25. when i saw this it not only made me happy that they were showing it but it also made me laugh so hard. i love this!!!

  • omg i was so excited when i found out there was going to be a commercial with sign language in it i am a sign language student and i love this commercial =]

  • luv it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lmfao hilarious...my parents r deaf

  • Wow, that was funny. Shame it never aired during super bowl game.

  • Actually, it did. I remember seeing it. Only once, though.

  • lol omg thats freaking brilliant

  • I like this commercial! I also like how they said "people with different abilities" instead of saying "people with disabilities". Sounds better and more postive.

  • ROFL now i get it! I just got done typing whether the guy was blind or not. how stupid am I LOL

  • Really cute! ^_^

  • this was hilarious!!

    love love love ittt!!

  • hahaha nice commercial, it makes sense. and it really made me laugh!)))))

  • for those of u idiots out there saying sumthing is wrong with the sound. this comercial is only made for deaf people. unlikely other who are not deaf knew it and got it and said it was funny.
