personally I think if you can't figure out how to circle strafe then you're a comlete idiot. I figured it out myself by just OBSERVING the heli's motion and mastered this skill and now I own noobs on Rush Oasis with the Apache/Havoc. the heli rotates (yaw) in 1 direction, strafes in a opposite direction, while continuously pitching down. nuff said

note shoot at helicopter when its at its lowest point works well on atacama for heavy metal/portvaldez use the at4 practice firts on isla innoncentes by shooting down blackhawks

and for oasis use the gustav remember shoot when the helo is low and already has fired his rockets and then fire at it

if there is a vads dont dumb and use the vads instead of your launcher

@iamgig9876 since when did they confirm this, they said the game would be more like bf2, and that means even more precise circle strafing, barrel rolls, and back flips. The choppers in bc2 are sluggish. They are nothing compared to how they were in BF2. However in BF3, there are jets, and no matter how well you circle strafe, any decent jet is gonna take you out. Circle strafing is easy to take out. Now, a chopper that hovers in the distance and snipers with its rockets is hard to take out.

@iamgig9876 nah just use the tanks in vietnam and AT4 in normal BC2. Unless you are playing on consoles. Then you might have a hard time since helis are extremely maneuverable on consoles for some reason. They can move almost like in BF2, but are like 10x easier to fly, which is a big problem. I circle strafe when there is no anti-air, like here in Phu Bai Rush, but i don't when there are tanks around. Well, I can take out one tank, but not two at once unless they are stupid.

IMO circle strafing is pretty lame. On nam its one thing because of how easy it is to drop the chopper. But anyone who circle strafes in apache/hinds and stuff are almost always fags. And yes, I have plat on air vehicles. And no, I never once circle straffed. It looks too boring. Id rather actually fly the chopper around.

@Hautamekki How exactly? I know it's frustrating for the players that are on the defending side receiving all the ordnance, but it's how the choppers are meant to be used. The pilot just has the choice to either let the gunners get the kills, or use circle strafing to get them himself. It's not even that hard to RPG a circle strafing chopper down. It's not the circle strafing that's the problem, it's the choppers themselves, and it's not like their invincible either.

@Threatty on bfbc 2, two good lvl 50s in a helicopter with headset can gank the whole enemy side when they are average...AA-Gun is always down and because of smoke you cant do anything.

and the real gankers dont just circle around above the enemies spawnpoint. its simply impossible to nuke them down because they are too far away (not like in the video). and at the end of the round, both pilots have 4000+ points without one death. unfair

i hope helicopters (and jets?) have limited ammo in bf3

Everytime I come across such pilots yes they get themselves a shit load of points but 9 times out of 10 they lose because they're obsessed with spawn raping whilst having no flags captured. They might be a beast in the air but when it comes to winning they're useless, and for me it's all about winning.

I've noticed that some servers, mainly rush servers doesnt like when ppl circle strafe with heli... once I started playin in a server which circle strafing wasnt allowed. dunno y since is such a nice technique

Good video, I love doing strafing like this in the Huey on Operation Hastngs, flying the chopper on Vietnam is more fun then flying other attack choppers in regular BFBC2 in my opinion.

@Westham4everUKshine Try, real world? Hueys used by the military are armoured to an extent, so small arms don't cause too much damage unless they hit the personnel inside the huey, which is possible in this game too.
