I like your vids cuz you edit thru the boring fights that you've already played. I'm playing this for ps1, and I wish when you highlight a weapon or something it would tell you what it's for. When I got the arrows in the cave all it said was ICE or FIRE. But I saw on this version it actually said arrows. Anyways , awesome walkthrough! really helping me out on tough parts.

@marquise02119 The Inventory is like this in the SNES, GBA, and PSP sad to say. They took that limit away in the DS version in favor of giving the Fat Chocobo a new and different role. They took out the cool bonus dungeons from the GBA in the DS version though. They did keep the GBA's bonus dungeons in the PSP Remake of the GBA port.

One suggestion I would make though is to keep the magemasher in your inventory and cycle it like you would the claws for Edge. The hit rate penalty will be negated by better weapons and higher levels later and the magemasher becomes a major powerhouse, especially in the final areas of the game.

I'd say the Mage Masher is much more useful in the DS version, if for only one reason.

Cecil with Crystal Mail is the only possibility for immunity to Flan Princesses' Berserk. The fastest way to kill Flan Princesses is by countering with Stardusts. However, most of the things that can increase Cecil's Intellect are armor, which is useless, cuz he needs that Berserk immunity. Thus the Mage Masher is the one equip that can improve his damage with Stardust. Yay, easy Adamant Armor!

You see those glowing green floor tiles? If you step on one, you get -50 HP. Ouch. So to avoid this problem, HC had Rydia cast Levitate on the party. That way, they don't lose so much HP and the fights are easier.

You mentioned the Goblin summon. As much level-grinding as you've done, I find it amazing that you haven't scooped up any of the rare items. I somehow landed Giant Gloves and Silence Staff on my last go-around, before even reaching Rubicante. Can't wait to see more.

I never ran into the Sorcerer who could summon Mad Ogres. If I did, I probably would have gotten the gloves, which aren't that rare.

Is the Goblin sumon good for anything? In my experience Chocobo was always better, and about as efficient

I've heard that if Rydia's level is equal to the enemy's level, the Goblin summon deals more damage. Maybe I'm just thinking of Goblin Punch from FF5.
