this to me was a game ahead of its time really good but people didnt get it online was just starting i think capcom owes it to themselves and the fans who were able to enjoy the online to remake it

Who agrees that capcom should put Resident Evil: Outbreak File #1 and #2 on HD for the PS3 and XBox 360? And put online back on so we (the ones who are playing) can convince them that they should make a File #3.

@Emogeta In a way they are with Resident evil Operation Racoon city. Takes place as Claire and Chris first meet in RE2. But you play as Umbrella spec ops soilders out to kill Leon. Coming in 2012
@Emogeta they should connect the characters/places in outbreak with operation raccoon. where if you're the Umbrella Security Service you have to kill all of the survivors. Or if you're the US Spec Ops, you have to save them. It would be perfectly to operation raccoon because Yoko was once a scienctist for umbrella, and now they need to get rid of her.
the only thing i hate about this game are the Al's...they run everywhere!!! -_-
shame it was never like this like when characters ad-lib *you allright* they should sd-lib and say*been better* but they say random shit and the levels were never like this this is so missleading
I remember seeing this trailer when it first came out, and immediately going to the store, buying a PS2 and the network adapter, and anxiously awaiting the release date! I can barely describe my disappointment when the US servers were brought down... what a shame. This is the most under-appreciated titles of all time and second only to Resident Evil 2 in the RE series in my opinion.
This looks incredible. As a Resident Evil fan, i'm definitely gonna have to get this. Two questions though. With the game, is there a campaign to play through? And is the only way for it to do multiplayer online? Cuz I like just being able to bring a game over to a friend's and play.
@Alastor343 Ugh, no...It's more of a survival/quick puzzle-solving campaign. You can choose one of 8 characters, each with his/her own unique abilities and you have to travel through the stages quickly, collecting items and weapons, solving puzzles, fighting to advance and you usually fight a boss at the end of each stage. You are also accompanied by 2 AI characters who can carry some of the items you currently don't need. But there is one downside, so if you want to hear it, just say it, OK?
As soon as you start the game, no matter on which level, you will see a small timer on the left. It will slowly and surely rise. What it is? A ZOMBIE meter. Once that meter reaches 100% you die and become a zombie. It will fill, even if no zombie ever touched you, but it will increase more if you do get attacked. But hey, don't worry, because it will take like an hour or more before it actually gets dangerous, and there are items slowing it down.
@Alastor343 Well, basically, but it was most likely done to give you more thrill than to actually spoil the fun. As I said, it takes quite a lot of time before it actually turns your attention towards it, so don't worry, for I remember beating a stage with the meter being at 50% or something. So I'll just conclude it with this;
The game isn't the best in the series, but from what it is, it's not bad, for it offers some nice fun with puzzles, fighting and surviving. So go buy it and play it, OK?

@outlawzqc Its Resident Evil: Outbreak. It had online properties back then. But now....servers are down....:( I have mine and really liked the concept. Good game.
@outlawzqc release 2003 kinda one of them side games to the main RE 1,2,3,4, its a great game , graphics incredible for ps2 back then and the plot is really mysterious one of the best ps2 games of all time. =) must buy i got this from CEX for £4.00 the other day which is probably about $2.50

@HuNtErScOrPi0 I've heard rumors that the servers in Japan are still going. Unless you live there, you're pretty much out of luck playing online. Back in the day (mind you, I never had the ability to play online back then), you needed the PS2 internet stuff. From there, you could play online.
there might be hope for the outbreak-fans out there. because a youtube-channel called IAMOUTBREAK is fighting to convince capcom to port outbreak file 1 and 2 to ps3/360. just look for IAMOUTBREAK on youtube and subscribe his channel. you have nothing to loose, just everything to win. believe me, i would like to feel the experience to play online with other survivors, but we have a lot of work to do before we get our reward :)
ok this game is good cause u don't have to run around looking for ammo like u have to do in the very first 1 for PS1 cause when im running around i find ammo EVERYWHERE even when i dont need it but i think CAPCOM should atleast put more ANTI-VIRUS'S in the game cause it would save some time!
God i would love to play this online T_T (Games that go online co-op are better cause you dont have dumbass A.I, For example Resident evil 5, Sheva T.T fires a entire clip misses wasteing a shitload of ammo -_-)

Some of the areas was from outbreak 1 and others form outbreak 2... and others didnt even appaer in either one of the games... could have been RE outbreak 3, but due to low sales on the 2 titles they cancelled the 3rd one..... thats what i think.
Outbreak is the main survival horror for Resident evil zombies keep coming monsters too, lots of melee weapons, u conserve your ammo wisely you try not to get hit because of your virus gauge each character has their special ability and you turn into a zombie like any real zombie apocalypse they need to make more games like this real survival horror
i think capcom are planning on releseing outbreak for the xbox 360 and ps3..
my proof? well two days ago, capcom said that at E3 this year, there gonna relese a "bombshell" now they said this "bombshell" is being developed by a western developer, which is used for remakes and ports, so this "bombshell" will be a remake or port. so they also went on to say "we dont wanna relse what it is yet, because it might make some people mad" so it might be outbreak!
Guys I got a question. Did anyone else see 3 places that where not on both games? One was a back ally of a diner. One Looked like a street, (It looked diferent then the one in the first one) Then one that looked like eather a factory or a sewer!??????????? WTF?

they need to make more outbreaks, it would be awesome if a character died, they die permanantly, and you have to finish the game before all your characters die, that would be like, the ultimate game of survival
@TrannyAcid yes! like you for example you play as Cindy.....and kevin, mark, jim, george, david, alyssa, and yoko...are all her partners....and when one dies, they stay dead....through the game...and if the character you play as dies, you just switch to another survivor.....would be awesome!!!!! like a real life horror movie...cause the death order if any will never be the same twice...:P i like the way you think...also, i wish in cindys alt costumes, her hair was movable...blows in the wind. :P

im sorry but im going to have to disagree with there being NO FEAR in re4. The first time people play it is usually pretty scary. The first time I played re4 the chainsaw dude horrified me every time he cut off my head. i was afraid to go to the bathroom. Not every resident evil game has to be zombies....the point is a virus got out in all these games, as long as they keep the point of the virus changing people to act unhuman it shouldnt be a problem,they never promised itd ALWAYS b zombies.
Sorry dude i guess us veterans of resident evil series weren't scared of resident evil 4 . I mean think about it, in the old resident evils the environment was fucking scary, dark alley ways, very very claustrophobic areas, don't forget the creepy ass fucking music, and you you can hear the zombies foot steps but cant see them cuz the camera angles that gave me the chills and made me wanna chuck my controller out my window and go hide under my bed. Res 4 for me is like WOW GUNS WOW EXPLOSION...

@misatchi Fear depends on the person. There was only one area I felt fear in RE4 and that's the hedge maze, other than that, the game was a typical run and gun except terrible controls compared to others in that genre. Also there is no virus in 4, just a parasite. Some new species that want to rule the world by using political leaders in some terrible plot device. Also the amount of ammo you get is ridiculous. I prefer the older games as they put up more of a challenge.
this game has about 25 scenarios. but shitcom released it as files. file 1 was the first 5, then comes file 2. but sales wasnt high as file 1. (i think thats because xbox360 came out. and people justl eft the ps2) so shitcom just wanted to see how it goes on sales so that they can release more files. DAMN i wish online was still on. just when i got broadband connection the fucking server closed
Nope. There is no file 3 coming out. Not for the PS2, 360, or anything. The only upcoming Resident Evil games are Resident Evil for the PSP, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles for Wii, possibly more Gamecube Resident Evil games re-released for Wii, and I remember reading somewhere that RE5 is going to be undergoing some alterations for motion controls. I don't remember if it's for Wii, Project Natal, or Sony's upcoming motion controller.

what about the tyrant in the trailer at 2:01 and in front of the hospital at 0:28 and 0:22 to 0:24 were they thrown out aswell cos i played the shit out of outbreak and couldnt find these places
@ZanderoAwesomo :24 is the hallways in file 2 of the scenario "underbelly"....which is the railway station.....this trailer is early...meaning before it was only to be played online....with 20-25 scenarios......and they all branched out in an order......the system was changed to 5 scenarios per game and offline mode was added.
@greenlee7smythe no it wasnt. 24: was outside that hotel .not in underbelly ,im not thick.i know that its an early trailer.how do you know it was originally planned with 20-25 why was it put so low to 5 is that because of the offline mode that took up more space cos goin from 20-25 to 5 is vast...the main reason im asking is that i know you can only access certain areas in the game in offline mode

@jkcrules the developers originially had 20-25 scenarios in the game...and it was only online play......they changed it for offline too and cut space by having only 5 scenarios per game.

I love the older RE games as well as this one. RE4 completely failed at being an RE game and RE5 is somewhat decent but still not that much better than 4.
only thing i like better about the new games is the 3pv gameplay. i beat the old games and i can hang with the other but it would be much better in 3pv
Are you fuckin kidding me. Check out any official website about resident evil, RE 2 and RE4, especially this last one, have been the most succesful RE games of all times. Besides having zombies in every RE game would just make them repetitive. No doubt, RE4 best RE game ever!! Enough said.
Sorry, but while RE4 and RE5 were very fun games, I have to agree with shrapnel, in saying that the zombies were what made RE. The changes made to 4 and 5 were all fine and dandy, but in the end, it was changed to an action title.

I probably racked up thousands of hours playing this game online with my friends. This is still my favorite RE game of all time.

Seems like the outbreak characters never made it out of apocalypse alive. They haven't been mentioned or made an appearance in the other games.

ok this game is good cause u don't have to run around looking for ammo like u have to do in the very first 1 for PS1 cause when im running around i find ammo EVERYWHERE even when i dont need it but i think CAPCOM should atleast put more ANTI-VIRUS'S in the game cause it would save some time!

Some of the areas was from outbreak 1 and others form outbreak 2... and others didnt even appaer in either one of the games... could have been RE outbreak 3, but due to low sales on the 2 titles they cancelled the 3rd one..... thats what i think.

Outbreak is the main survival horror for Resident evil zombies keep coming monsters too, lots of melee weapons, u conserve your ammo wisely you try not to get hit because of your virus gauge each character has their special ability and you turn into a zombie like any real zombie apocalypse they need to make more games like this real survival horror

my proof? well two days ago, capcom said that at E3 this year, there gonna relese a "bombshell" now they said this "bombshell" is being developed by a western developer, which is used for remakes and ports, so this "bombshell" will be a remake or port. so they also went on to say "we dont wanna relse what it is yet, because it might make some people mad" so it might be outbreak!

this game was awesome.
it really felt like you were experiencing a gruelling struggle for survival.
they need to make more outbreaks, it would be awesome if a character died, they die permanantly, and you have to finish the game before all your characters die, that would be like, the ultimate game of survival

@TrannyAcid yes! like you for example you play as Cindy.....and kevin, mark, jim, george, david, alyssa, and yoko...are all her partners....and when one dies, they stay dead....through the game...and if the character you play as dies, you just switch to another survivor.....would be awesome!!!!! like a real life horror movie...cause the death order if any will never be the same twice...:P i like the way you think...also, i wish in cindys alt costumes, her hair was movable...blows in the wind. :P

im sorry but im going to have to disagree with there being NO FEAR in re4. The first time people play it is usually pretty scary. The first time I played re4 the chainsaw dude horrified me every time he cut off my head. i was afraid to go to the bathroom. Not every resident evil game has to be zombies....the point is a virus got out in all these games, as long as they keep the point of the virus changing people to act unhuman it shouldnt be a problem,they never promised itd ALWAYS b zombies.

Sorry dude i guess us veterans of resident evil series weren't scared of resident evil 4 . I mean think about it, in the old resident evils the environment was fucking scary, dark alley ways, very very claustrophobic areas, don't forget the creepy ass fucking music, and you you can hear the zombies foot steps but cant see them cuz the camera angles that gave me the chills and made me wanna chuck my controller out my window and go hide under my bed. Res 4 for me is like WOW GUNS WOW EXPLOSION...

It had good graphics, the only annoying thing about the game is stupid Ashley until you beat the game the first time and get the armor suit for her, then she isn't as much as a pain. haha.

@misatchi Fear depends on the person. There was only one area I felt fear in RE4 and that's the hedge maze, other than that, the game was a typical run and gun except terrible controls compared to others in that genre. Also there is no virus in 4, just a parasite. Some new species that want to rule the world by using political leaders in some terrible plot device. Also the amount of ammo you get is ridiculous. I prefer the older games as they put up more of a challenge.

this game has about 25 scenarios. but shitcom released it as files. file 1 was the first 5, then comes file 2. but sales wasnt high as file 1. (i think thats because xbox360 came out. and people justl eft the ps2) so shitcom just wanted to see how it goes on sales so that they can release more files. Nope. There is no file 3 coming out. Not for the PS2, 360, or anything. The only upcoming Resident Evil games are Resident Evil for the PSP, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles for Wii, possibly more Gamecube Resident Evil games re-released for Wii, and I remember reading somewhere that RE5 is going to be undergoing some alterations for motion controls. I don't remember if it's for Wii, Project Natal, or Sony's upcoming motion controller.

@ZanderoAwesomo :24 is the hallways in file 2 of the scenario "underbelly"....which is the railway station.....this trailer is early...meaning before it was only to be played online....with 20-25 scenarios......and they all branched out in an order......the system was changed to 5 scenarios per game and offline mode was added.

Sorry, but while RE4 and RE5 were very fun games, I have to agree with shrapnel, in saying that the zombies were what made RE. The changes made to 4 and 5 were all fine and dandy, but in the end, it was changed to an action title.
