@punchmaster123 because were all about MPG and pussy ass hippy shit like that. America gets the worst cars from all countries. Look at toyota, all there cars are slow. so they start making scions and what do you know, they put a 6-speed in a car with 160 hp. fucking retarded.
VW did a similar stunt with Touareg towing a 747. They had to replace the standard suspension and axles and add about 4500kg in balast to the vehicle to give it traction.
It's all about the gearing and traction, period. It's not really about which brands are better, they each have their pro and cons. It's just a matter of preference. Me, I'm just happen to be a fan of Mopar only because that was the first car I rememeber my parents owning.
Yeah, that's true. But I think they all have quality, oddly though, they seem to trade off. One make does good for X number of years then one of the others takes the reigns for a while. Right now, I guess it's Ford. Who knows who it'll be next.
Not impressed. the locomotive is beautiful, but Its not as heavy as it looks. now if that Fixed Or Repaired Daily (FORD) Truck can pull a 400 ton steam locomotive, then ill be impressed! Where and when was the locomotive built? Looks like a Lima Locomotive Works builder's plate.
@Kleman09 - R711 was built by North British Locomotive Co. in Glasgow in 1951. Lima had no involvement with NBLCo. in designing this engine - the shape of the builder's plate is just coincidence.
@trocker2 I don't think a Falcon frame would cope with that much stress. The Ranger is on a separate ladder chassis (probably fully boxed rails too). The Falcon is on a car platform.
@MrChevypower Your right, but still would be good. Hopefully they use this drive train in the new territory. It would be good to have something made here that is better then the imports.
So if I'm pulling a train weighing say 50 tonnes and something breaks is it covered by warranty?? Looks good. Hope you guys are working on a 4wd falcon ute that can do it better.
Impressive. But what is the power of the Ranger in HP and the torque in ft-lbs? I can't really understand the speaker at the end because of the music.
@xShooter7 taken from autoblog.com: "The Ranger came packing its TDCi diesel 3.2-liter inline five-cylinder engine with 190 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque. Bolted to a six-speed automatic transmission and equipped with a low-range transfer case..."

What useless nonsense. How often will you need to tow a locomotive?
Getting back to reality -- how often do you wish you got better gas mileage.
