I've seen similar... from STI models.

But NOT with WRX spec - there's a substantial difference. In factory tune, a WRX would (in the hands of an achingly advanced driver) struggle to hit 60 in under FIVE sec.

Switch to the fully homologated STI and I might be more inclined to agree with you, especially with these new 330BHP mills.

For what it's worth, I have witnessed an Impreza smoking a Porsche many times too.

But, and this is cold, hard fact - a WRX stands no chance against a 911 Turbo.

0 to 60 in under 4 seconds. 3.8 or so. 13.s in the 1/4. top speed of 165. heads up. id bet money on a wrx. with headers and an exhaust on it and a few other small fine tuning. ive seen it happen. many times

But the thing is if you tune a porsche the same way then it will not be close at all. Ruf who is probably the most renowned porsche tuner in the world says, "porsche only makes their cars half way; the 911 is a true tuners car". Tuned Sti's may also be able to beat the porsches in a drag but put them on a track and its no even close.

Sti's have incredible handling. all Subarus do. i outran a Porsche in my Legacy wagon on a backroad near my house. its a bone stock car with a crazy fucked for a driver. itll take turns like ive never seen before and its not shit compared to an Sti. id have the see it with my own eyes.

To be honest I think thats more of a case of you just being a considerably better driver than the porsche driver was. Do not take this the wrong way, the STI is a pretty fantastic vehicle but its really just not quite in the same class as the porsche is stock, now if you tune it then the sky is the limit...... However an equally tuned sti VS an equally tuned porsche with equal drivers the porsche still has the upper hand.
