Thank you young sir, I am glad to have found your teaching and enjoy going through the letters of the arabic alphabet - after kyrillic, the next challenge...
As Salamu Alaikum, think u brother i feel as thoe im getting sharper and sharper, its good that i can hear how u pronouce the words in letters, so i no im saying them correct, may allah(swt) reward you, inshallah
As a new alif-baa learner I have had trouble distinguishing the shape of daal from baa-taa-thaa and nun. Aside from the dots, and that the daal doesn't connect to the following letter, what is the main difference in shape? That the daal is higher? The angle of the vertical part of the letter? Both? Thanks for great lessons, they are helping me a lot and your presentation is getting better with each lesson.
well it simple. Baa-Taa-Thaa family is a boat shape that flaots on the line. Noon is like baa-taa when in the begining and middle. but at the end or seperate is like a deap basket that goes under the line.
as for the dal, you dont connect it for behind only from the front, and the angle of the dal is a bit more than 90 degrees. and no part of it goes under the line. plus as you said the vertical line that starts the daal is normally higher than the baa -taa notches
this is most helpful God bless you. I can hear the difference between the last letter of lessonthree and the first letterof this lesson. Basically, you need to understand that understand that English only uses the front of the mouth to make (relevent) sounds that provide meaning. I.E. english has all its meaning in the differnece of sounds between the tongue, lips, and teeth. three factors. Arabic, on the other hand, adds a 4th (or even 5th)dimension: the throat (or even topa nd bottum of it).
My problems with the phonetics started! I can't hear the difference between the last letter of lesson 3 and the first letter of this lesson. Is there any way you could help me please? Thanks a lot.
I'll join people praising you - great work. I was born near Bukhara, however in passport it says Samarqand. These places were once famous in arabic world. Sad my generation doesn't know arabic, but I am trying to learn it, and you are helping me a lot. regards.
i'm not sure I understand what u are asking exactly, ...
if u mean pronunciation: "ذ" is pronounced like the T-H. combination in words like "this , that , thus" ... while on the other hand "ث" (three dots on top) is pronounced like the TH combination in words like "thin ,thick, teeth, both"
if that's not what u meant in your question please rephrase your question, i'll be happy to answer :)
