  • sexy hair.......... :)

  • Hi I have a question about the flat ironing your hair so how long will your hair will stay?

  • Really helpful vid!

  • Wow! You have beautiful hair!

  • Did you use heat protection

  • @starborn600 The white bottle I displayed at 1:27 was the heat protectant. See description box for more info.

  • wow, looks great!

  • @apryl07... Try this method; you may need to upgrade your flatiron. I don't have a perm either but I was using my flat iron I has when I had a perm and it was not doing anything for my hair. It broke on me and I was forced to upgrade not knowing that part of my problem was my old flat iron. I got an H2pro but the Fhi is awesome too.

I did her method and my hair looks wonderful and no poof!! :)

  • Thank you! I tried your method and my hair is so silky straight! Typically, after flat ironing my hair would poof up; but your method has my hair looking awesome! I decided I would never get a perm again last year, so I've been searching and finally found a successful regimen! Thanks for sharing!

  • Great video! I Love that pink turban used with your DC. Where did you get it?

  • Your hair looks great...but your video isn't very detailed. You should expand on what some of the methods you used are, rather than just stating that you used them. A lot of your viewers, like myself, make not know what the "tension method" is.

  • was your hair dry when u applied the conditioner and will this work with any conditioner?

  • @DST2223 My hair was dry. My hair was washed earlier that week and did not have much product to result in build up so I was able to just apply the conditioner. Will it work with any conditioner? I say use the conditioner that offers THE MOST moisture for your hair. If the conditioner does not moisturize well, you hair will not straighten as well and as easily as it could. When hair is not moisturized well you run the risk of having heat damage.

  • When I flat iron my hair, within ten or so minutes my hair frizzes up and becomes bushy. How can I prevent this?

  • @apryl07 Are you flat ironing your hair at the most OPTIMAL times (weather-wise)? Are you positive your hair is moisturized by your conditioner? If so, how can you tell?

  • WHATS THAT WHITE COMB TYPE THING CALLED ... U USED IT WHEN FLAT IRONING YOUR HAIR

  • @TIGAH014 Hi, All of the tools used in this video are listed AND linked in the description box. Please look there for the information you seek.

  • @TIGAH014 This comb is sold at Sally's Beauty Supply. It costs around 6 to 7 dollars.

  • about how much of your conditioner do you use? seems like quite a bit is needed when using the relaxer method.

  • @sugasweets25 I get three uses out of that container. Just depends on your hair's density.

  • @wwestNDNbeautyy Thanx!

  • My hair is really thick so it probably won't work. Are you mixed with anything?

  • @smiixy2048 you never know until you try. but no I am not mixed with anything that I know of.

  • my hair is MBL and it's extremely thick...it's really hard to wrap it up at night -___-

  • @IBsnob you wrap it in its natural state.

  • it looks okay..your hair looks thin

  • My hair is thicker than yours but maybe it would still work..I dont have FHI though

  • Good tutorial! I will be doing this!

  • Is your hair relaxed??

  • When did you apply heat protectant?

  • @vanaphil please watch the entirety of the video. the product used is clearly visible at the 1:29 mark. the description box contains the name of specific products and tools used. thanks for watching :)

  • @wwestNDNbeautyy Thank you!

  • My hair is long, and I remember I straightened it once and my fucking thumb was numb for 2 days.

  • you go sista. im going to try this method. much love to all the natural sistas out there. we have to keep promoting naturals.

  • love this video you went through the whole process thanks!! Is it still as flowy on hair that reaches the ears

  • you can do anything with natural hair!

  • your hair is beauiful in the natural state and this way. What a good job!

  • @temoring1 I agree! Very impressive!

  • Gorgeous job!! Did you have the blowdryer on high, medium or cool when you blow dried it? I plan on doing my first flat ironing this weekend.

  • @QuayTheCanaryDiamond My dryer only has 2 settings. It was on high heat.

  • @jewelbenn sorry that I didn't show how I wrap and I prob won't be straightening again until next year but the way you see my hair falling in my face just before tieing with a scarf is how I begin to brush my hair around my head. No part at all. I alternate directions each night to avoid my hair only falling in one direction.

  • I noticed that you used the tension method when blow drying your hair. How is this different from blow drying with a comb attachment?

  • @bbnne1 I already have, which is why I was so emphatic about trying to find out how she wrapped hers lol. But thanks for he tip. none of the other videos have helped because for the most part the girls wrap[ing their middle part hair have weaves and such.

  • OH MY GOSH, you skipped how you wrap your hair!! I only know how to wrap a side part can you PLEEEAASSE show how to wrap a middle part? I am like desperate at this point lol.

  • she has a good length of hair. i need to learn how to flat iron mine, but im so scared that im gonna burn it off and ruin it.

  • I noticed you applied the conditioner to dry hair..Did you wash it first, let it dry then applied the deep conditioner?

  • @klpayton No I didn't use much product a few days before so there was no need for me to shampoo. I just applied the conditioner and rinsed it well, blow dried and flat ironed. But you have to know your hair and its ability to withstand build up. You may want to shampoo your hair first just to be sure.

  • I have a few questions to ask. How long did your hair take to revert back? Because for me it only takes me walking out the door for it to revert and get frizzy. So how can you make it last longer? And did you suffer any heat damage? Lol ok that's it, I'm just wondering whether I should flat iron my own hair or not... Love your hair! It's so silky smooth!

  • @iamnotokay24 my flat ironed hair lasts as long as as I would like it to. until water hits it, my hair is straight whether that is a week later or a month. my hair will not revert while I am wearing it straight. MOISTURE MOISTURE MOISTURE is the key to get your hair straight and it staying straight. that is the reason why I, unlike most youtubers showed the step of deep conditioning. also when your hair is uberly moisturized, it can withstand heat and your hair will not be damaged.

  • Ugh I envy you, beautiful hair mydear:)

  • my hair will so not turn out like this my hair is too thick

  • @totallylinz369

ur blessed to have thick hair. thick hair is BEATIFUL. It's probably a handful, but it's nice to have it that way.

  • wait i dont under stand are u suppose to leave it in when r u suppose to

  • Your hair is so soft

  • My sister has damaged hair will it work with that?

  • @13hailbail I don't see why not. but if hair is damaged, I would steer clear of things such as heat, which could cause more damage.

  • @wwestNDNbeautyy what products do you use for your natural hair?

  • your hair is so pretty. :)

  • I luv the music, makes me want to drop it low, lol. Hair is gorgeous!

  • I love your hair

  • Looks amazing!!

  • Ok........you have ALOT of hair and I know mines won't turn out like this

but still this was a helpful video

  • wow talk about shine

  • O_O so pretty!! I never thought you could get your hair that straight with natural hair(I've tried and my hair always goeas wild when I go outside & walk around) I hope if I follow this routine my hair will stay in tact ^^ And to think I was thinking about getting a relaxer lol

    Thank you :)

  • Your hair is so gorgeous. I look at YT vids for inspiration to keep going in my natural journey.

  • I AM IN LOVE WITH YOUR HAIRRRR. do you have any tips on how to grow it faster?

  • when u straighten what temp do you set your flatiron to?

  • Can you leave tresemme hair conditioner in overniqht ?

  • @shawty460 You have to trial and error what conditioner is going to provide the most moisture for your hair and if there are no ill effects for sleeping with it in. My experience is with the conditioner used in the video. I've had no ill effects. Best of luck in your trials.

  • does your hair frizz throughout the day? in the hot weather?

  • @onli1becca101 The last time I straightened my hair in the summer (June '10) there was little to no frizz. But of course I know that type of weather is the most optimal times for frizz to occur and I spent most of my time in doors. If my hair is straight, unless it's cold outside, I don't spend more than 15 minutes outside at one time.

  • Very nice results.

  • Gorg results...I got my hair straightened about 2 weeks ago and I NEED it again..lol! Your vid helped me to feel confident that I can do it myself :) How often do you straighten?

  • @Jadison03 I straighten maybe 3-4 times a year. So far I have only straightened once this year.

  • beautiful hair!!!

  • Wow that is a fast session and after your hair turned out so pretty and so silky soft

  • that's some gorgeous hair girl!!! :D

  • The blowdrying part was cool

  • man ibeen trying this my hair is a fro by noon or the next morning lol i dont know what to do

  • @bookiELive91 I've always been Natural :)

  • I DON'T SEE HOW 7 PEOPLE DISLIKED THIS.

  • @chrischeanda there're bold that's why lol

  • WOW. GORGEOUS

  • how long have you been natural?

  • You have beautiful hair hun . But does it last in humidity with the method you used in the video ?

  • I keep coming to listen to this instrumental. Please tell me the name but I love your hair. I'm considering going natural

  • @tarheelgirlie thanks. the name of the song is Baby by CDK

  • So silky and beautiful! Thanks for the vid!

  • Do you have to blowdry your hair? I'd like to know if I could skip that step and get the same results..

  • @wheresierraat I wouldn't try it, but you can and see what happens. Trial and error is they way it goes especially with natural hair.

  • how long does your hair stay straight and silky like that?

  • @lfutrell82 Until I wash which is usually 1-2 weeks. Even at that time, my hair is still bone straight, but I wash it because its apart of my routine.

  • Pretty Cool!

  • what was that comb u used while straightening your hair?

  • @Antmlover96 Check the description box for information regarding all items featured.

  • Hey ur hair is beautiful ... I got my hair flat ironed in the salon yesterday and the straightness only lasted 2 hrs :(. Can u help me or give me some tips as to what I should do.... The hairdresser washed and conditioned my hair , blow dry using a brush and then flat iron....

  • Your hair looks healthy and beautiful:)

  • *sigh* this transition thing is irritating lol! I have a chi flat iron and for the life of me I can't get my hair to stay straight and bouncy. Right now my hair is stiff like starch when I move it. I hate it lol! I haven't blow dried my hair like this yet tho and haven't slept in conditioner lol! Right now I'm still in trial and error. I just don't know what to do with my hair. I still want the straight look and have to have it because of my job, but right now my roots are saying "no" lol!

  • @RedQueen009 Try something that is more moisturizing and leaving it on for a longer period of time. I know if I tried to flat iron after conditioning for an hour, my results are never what you see in the video. Check out my blog. I have a post on there about my journey to flat ironing my hair. There are some pics in that post that will also help you see and understand what my hair looks like without moisture.

  • @RedQueen009 aww. Im sorry. How long did you deep condition? What did you use?

  • so you relax your hair?

  • @777brownie I'm confused. What you saw was conditioner being applied. I'm assuming you thought that was a relaxer. Are you telling me that you know people that apply relaxer with their hands, put on a plastic cap and then sleep in it??

Even after I rinsed the conditioner my hair was still kinky before blow drying it. Now I'm really getting even more confused as to why you asked that question.

  • Comment removed

  • @wwestNDNbeautyy it cause you said you use the "relaxer method" i didnt understand what you meant by that. but i get now u applied that conditioner as if your putting in a relaxer and slept over night with it.

  • @wwestNDNbeautyy

lol, this comment made me laugh out loud.

  • Your Hair Is Gorgeous ! =)

  • Nioxin Thermal Bliss is a heat protectant?

  • @sugarwaters It is.

  • That flat iron is a beast. Now I know I have to upgrade from my $35.00 conair p.o.s. from CVS. - Lovely results.

  • I frigid love your hair. Cant wait till mine is similar.

  • wow her hair looks so silky :D

  • mis female the video is old and the site was taken down a whlie ago female...

  • doesnt this song like katy perry firework???

  • do you mostly wear your hair flat ironed?

  • @bri80056 no...She said she flat irons i believe once or twice a month

  • @bri80056 Definitely not. maybe 4 times a year.

  • do you trim your ends?

  • @lovelydiva06 Yes, I usually trim them twice a year after flat ironing. In the mean time I do search and destroy.

  • so do yu not shampoo just deep condition......detangle then blow dry?

  • @cashmerekc Depends on how much product build up I have and what I use in my conditioner mix. It varies. Too much product build up results in a weighted down blow dry which will leave your flat ironed hair lifeless. You just have to know your hair. But if I were you I would stick to the normal wash and DC routine

  • Thank you for this excellent video. I did my hair and it turned out BEAUTIFUL! The key is leaving the mositurizer in. I left it in for about 6 hours. It was so easy to blow dry and flat iron. My hair looks like I went to the beauty salon. Thank you so much for sharing your skills.

  • You would think your hair was perm. Your hair look so shiny and healthy. I can't wait for my hair to have real length..

  • Love love this video! I am from St. Thomas and I am going to try this method tomorrow I am here laying around with the conditioner in my hair as I type. This will only be the 2nd time I try to straighten my hair and I been natural 14 months the first time was a disaster. I have an FHI iron but I will be trying out my megaglide hope it works out. Thanks for the tips!

  • @islandgurl3601 Island Massive! :)

  • I tried your method for the flat iron and using mainly this and reviewing the link from the fotki you posted and had AWESOME results! This is only the 2nd time I have straighted my entire head in MANY, MANY years and this go round was a success! THANK-YOU!!!!

  • Hey girl. Love your vid. The only thing you didn't mention was the temp you used to flatiron your hair?

    Thanks in advance....

  • @Uniquelise3 It was on 400 degrees for some sections and others 375

  • I love ur vids...can i ask...what is ur hair type..? Im 4a/b and im transitioning right now and i would like to use this method to straighten my hair soon. Thanks for ur response :)

  • whats the name of the comb?

  • @wwestNDNbeautyy...srry i took so long to reply..St. Thomas

  • I like this video...just curious, though. What is the name of the comb you used, while your flat ironing? 'm interested in purchasing one. Also, what's the name of it?

  • Question, isn't using the brush ripping your ends or something, or no?

  • @EmpressCarm It could....if your hair is not properly detangled before hand.

  • my family is frm the british virgin islands also.. :)

  • @Karam3lQT18 which island?

  • Hi! Great post! once again! did you use a heat protectant before ironing the hair?

  • Question: Was your hair wet or dry when you put on the deep conditioner?

  • @blkimble my hair is dry in the video.

  • This is an excellent video. I want to do those exact steps. My question though is how long does this look last, and are the products good enough at preventing frizz in high humidity?

  • @uknowdastory I live in GA and this style lasts as long as I want it to. Hair frizzes because it is in search or moisture. Make sure your hair is well moisturized via your DC and that will minimize the frizzing.

  • your hair is really beautifull!!! :D

  • Where from the West Indies are you from? What island?

  • @ladydipset88 British Virgina Islands. You?

  • @wwestNDNbeautyy I was born in New York but my parents are from Haiti. Im Haitian American.

  • i love ur hair

  • take the "period" off the end of ur blog link bc it goes to the wrong site....keep up the great work

  • @rwill117 Thanks for that :) !

  • Oh nevermind...I saw the Nioxin bottle, I missed it last time. :o)

  • Very Pretty!!!! I love the way that turned out. How often do you flat iron??? And which heat protectant did you use?

  • Would you say 6 hours is enough and what temperature do you use? Thanks!!

  • this is amazing.

  • amazing! I'm not sure if anyone asked already but how do you think using a spray heat protectant would affect the turn out? Also, what about a moisturizing leave in?

  • @in88Him The white bottle you see me using is a spray heat protectant, detangler and leave in. My suggestion would be to apply all wet products before blow drying. Product applied after you your blow dry stands the chance of making your hair product heavy and lifeless.

  • @wwestNDNbeautyy thanks girl. This is helpful

  • What type of towel did you use? Was it a turbie twist or something else?

    TIA

  • @TheCurlyLee A turbie twist

  • @morehairplease I do use shampoo. If I need to clarify my hair when I am going to straighten, I use Chi infared (red cap) moisturizing shampoo. It really cleanses my hair without leaving it stripped.

  • Love the result!

I tried clicking the mens thoughts on natural hair but its marked private.

  • @asianeyedbeauty Thanks for watching!

That link is fixed now :)

  • Love the way your hair came out, How long does it last?? and what do you do to help with your hair reverting back???

  • @blaqueonyx My hair doesn't revert until its time to wash. Actually, when I don't so such a good job flat ironing and its a little puffy, my hair actually gets straighter over time. I wrap it around in a bun when sleeping and thats pretty much it to maintaining it.

  • Thanks for the video. I tried the same exact method as you did, however with my 4b/c hair, it was more puffy then straight.

  • @Prime1018 Sorry it didn't work for you. How long did you deep condition?

  • @wwestNDNbeautyy Three hours, then I washed it out. I guess I'll try it another time and leave the conditioner over night and see what happens then.

  • @Prime1018 After a little experimenting myself with the length of time I condition, I am noticing overnighting really makes the diff. Last time I straightened I did so with having the conditioner on a few hours....**thumbs down** on how m hair came out. Hopefully if you overnight it will work better for you too :)

  • amazing!!!! it looks so beautiful!

  • I really like how shiny it came out

  • Comment removed

  • Wooowww! Your hair looks so pretty and beautiful done like that :) May I ask what the name of the comb that you used during the chase method is called and where you bought it? The one you clamped down.

  • what type of moisturizer did you put in your hair?

  • @GurlPreppy12 Please see description box for info related to each item used.

  • I definitely want to try this. I tried flat ironing w/o blow drying first and its soooo humid whe
