why is everyone hating so much?! - Apple has always sold hardware so the need for a store was proper. MS was primarily software/os, but is now migrating to more hardware so they can justify the need for retail stores.. and they did a wonderful job! why do people find the need to bash the mimicking of Apple,... PC lovers and XBOX users (myself) are thrilled about the store. and i wish them the best of luck. They can now create more 'fun' toys with the demand. Screw Apple,... and their users.
okay.. the screw apple part was a bit harsh. There's just no need to bash MS for trying to bring products to the market that we can all use. Not everyone likes apple or their products or their OS. yes.. i used it and have a MAC pro to develop content; and i still prefer a PC
hey! im an apple user but i am SOOO excited that Microsoft FINALLY opened a store!!! I use a Macbook Pro, Windows 7 runs faster on my mac than on my hp computer. I basically only like Apple because of their good performance. But my Xbox is my most favorite thing to use, and Project Natal is going to make it 5000 times better!!!
Microsoft is not going to compete with Apple. They are going to copy what Apple is doing today five years from now.
The Xbox is the worst video console ever made. The failure rate for the 360 was well over 70%. They copied Sony's PS2 and brought zero innovation to the gaming industry. Anyone who buys a Microsoft product is an absolute moron.
Regardless of your hate for the company, Xbox has been one of the biggest long-term strategic successes for Microsoft as a corporation since Windows. The platform lock-in potential is enormous, the cheap production cost allows profit on the hardware now and the attachment rate is quite high for soft sales. It's also got a huge distribution now with addon relationships like Netflix being additional post-launch profit avenues for them. Business wise, it's an epic-win.

We play it every day for hours on end... have you ever played Gears of War? - wow! what basis do you have in saying that?! - Yes,.. i also have PS3 and the online (though its free) is left wanting. No client side hit detection, and a much less 'community' feel. Wow,... weaksauce!

Stop allowing apple to run Windows on their computers, and selling MS office with their computers. I mean, all I hears is people bragging how they can run Windows on their macs and thats what they mainly use.

Yea that basically sums it up -- it *is* a replica of the Apple experience, but that doesn't change that MS has some fun toys in there (Xbox, Surface come to mind) that Apple doesn't. But yea, it's basically an Apple store ;)
lol, I think both stores have their purpose -- I'd probably have more *fun* in an MS store just cause of the Xbox and Surface, but who knows what Apple will be doing in a few years.

well you can use any windows programs starting with Windows XP and going to Windows 7.
