Cool vid, Anthony Juneau here, I bought a truck from yo in 08, sold it..just bought it back and heading to the rockies to do my music. The Courier still has only 45,000 miles and will be my daily driver along w/ my motorcycle, look me up some time on youtube, I am starting to promote my music on there more. Peace ...I hope all is well with you.-A.J.-
@1ajuneau - Thanks very much for the update, that is SO cool. If you ever have the opportunity to send a photograph (especially one that shows the new location) I'd greatly appreciate it. I'll be keeping an eye on your music.
... it's sooooo fun to ride in!!! Thanks for taking me & the hubby for a spin and indulging his boyhood dream to ride in the car! You are the greatest, Sir!
I've loved that car sense i first laid eyes on it, i see that you have a real supercharger on your car and in my humble opinion, that makes it a better car than the one they used in the movie. can you please shed some light on the year and model of the car?
Indeed I can, sir. Please have a look at a few of my other videos, like "Just damned cool", the on/off blower is demonstrated there.
You're very welcome, I'm always happy to answer questions about it, it was my dream car since I saw the movie in the theater in 1982, I'm happy to share it with the world.
Just gimme a holler when you can make it all the way up to the Lake Lewisville area and bring a camera.
Nope, I don't know anyone local with the 4 door Interceptor, and nobody in the American Aussie Falcon Club is in this area. I wonder if it's still in the area.
Kate, all you have to give for a ride is to visit the Dallas/Fort Worth area and let me know ahead of time. Thanks very much for your kind comments! It's really helpful to know what people enjoy in the videos.
That's a 351 Cleveland. After more than 20 years, I don't know if it's the original. Probably is, it's a stout motor. I love the movies too. Give me a holler if you're ever in the area.
I'm down the road from you in North Richland Hills, I'll have to keep an eye out for you. I would know that car anywhere. The Road Warrior is in my opinion the all-time best action movie, ever. I'm sure you're understandably very proud to own that awesome car.
Four days after it arrived in Dallas, I drove it to San Antonio and back. That's about 600 miles...with live sidepipes right behind your head. Yep, I own a set of earplugs. If you do make a trip up here, give me a holler!
Sweeeeet car, but I gotta know if the blower is actually functional or is run by electric???? and if it is functional then tell me it was done, please
DUDE TALK ABOUT A DEAD-RINGER! Patrolmandark, I know u said u wouldn't take it up to 183mph, but do u think the car can out-run a fast motorbike like in the movie? AND if mel gibson decided to make a new recent movie about MAX, and he needed the car, would u let him use it?
It's amazingly swift. In the documentary "Back 2 The Max" where they filmed THIS Interceptor at Broken Hill and a bunch of other locations, they show the speedo needle sweeping past 140mph. That was with the old 4 speed. It now has a brand new 5-speed, and a theoretical top of 183mph. I would not attempt to take it that high, with it's now highly dubious aerodynamics (open rear window, tanks out back, no spoiler).
It sounds like it may have been redline-limited in its top speed potential with the 4-speed. On the other hand, 140+ in a 30 year old design seems plenty fast if the goal is meerly to have a little fun. I assume that the blower actually pressurizes the intake on your 351C? That would make the 650HP pretty easy.
Not so much a matter of cash. It was my life savings, and money from investments. It came up for sale and I was able to get to my money, and was willing to spend more than a year's earnings to achieve my lifelong dream. Now I'm looking for a 1974 Dodge Monaco 4-door, if anyone knows of one for sale.
MATE MATE MATE...From the town I grew up, watching that film being made, to see a XB Coupe in the states is awesome! I love how you have got the supercharger to turn off like in the movie! What a laugh that setup is.Atleast you copied it true to the original. Cheers From OZ. (Should check my XY Falcon Video-More to come)
Cheers, mate, though I can't take the credit. This car was built in Australia by Scott Smith and some of the builders of the first two cars. They did a brilliant job, exact in every detail - but with some upgraded mechanical and suspension bits. Still a honkin' 351C under there... I just keep her in good condition and take her out every weekend, give folks rides, etc. That's a beautiful XY you have, and you've a very naughty father-in-law!

Thank you. I don't want to, but a sufficiently large offer would take it off my hands.

The Interceptor is based off the 1973 Australian Ford Falcon XB GT. They built my blower setup just as they did the first two cars.
PatrolmanDark 2 years ago
wait, you mean to say that somehow you can turn the blower on and off? thank you for the clarification on the model and year, your awesome

WOW I would have so much fun in that car!!!just seeing peoples reactions, have you ever turned the sirens on behind some street rodders????
v7nf 4 years ago 5
It's tempting, but I won't do it. The local police take a very dim view of sirens on civilian cars.

Depends on the motorbike. :)
Yes, if they do proceed with Mad Max 4: Fury Road, I'd be open to talking with the studio about use of the Interceptor.
PatrolmanDark 5 years ago
That is SOOO cool! Anybody seeing that car, knowing the movies, has to ask a ton of questions. Roughly how fast IS Max's car, anyway?

Must be nice to have the cash.I worked my ass off on the drilling rigs in Alberta and after 6 yrs all I scrounged up was a 66 caprice.
