amazing closeness but as well they differ, loud mod is more focused and not as loud, other is much more full freq & LOUDER --- both do sound very good though however these types of pedals should have a few more controls seems to me. just a bit more control would be a good thing, like some tones knobies or somethin -- ~wd
Okay, okay. Now we need a shootout of Luther drives, all models unless you have a website. Cool riffing, as always.
The Loud Luther (permission to steal that monicker) has nice brights. Very articulate. Have to say the LDO is pretty loud, but awfully muddy in the mids. The LDO muddied it all up. Not good. I wonder if you switched the order if that would make a difference on the LL to have more level. Just thinking out loud, on the screen. Rock it until it's sore.
GMD! I love your videos! I've actually spent a good part of this summer watching all 688 of your videos and have commented on a lot of the pedal shootouts. I love your playing as well! I usually leave your videos running on in the back ground as I'm studying or doing work around the house! Keep rocking GMD!!!
LUTHER DRIVE - sounds grittier, OD sounds like it's slightly breaking up or is sizzling when played harder, has a very fuzz like quality to it, very nice!
LDO - sounds slightly brighter and smoother but still very transparent
GET BOTH PEDALS!!!
***as always, it depends on what other gear you're using, how all of your gear complements/works against each other, what sound you're looking for, how it feels, and what you're willing to pay***
Gearman dude needs to check out the RnB Dumbodrive its superior ove the landgraff and is more versitale you can get everything from tube scramer to dumble.
for a straight up, clean overdrive I'd take the LDO, but for that sorta semi fuzzlike tone the Luther gets it straight up - I'd like to hear you play some Hendrix with a Luther Drive...
@SwampAshSpecial You can place the Landgraff on a variable power supply and run the pedal between 6.8 VDC and 9.8VDC and get some incredible "sag" and fuzz from the Landgraff. The Landgraff is often "immitated" but never duplicated. I love GMD's stuff...My Landgraffs will never leave the board.

Can You put the Landgraff or the Timmy vs. the Signa Drive? That would be quite interesting, too.

Is it just me or does the Luther Drive have a fuzz-like quality to it?
8bigtubes 1 year ago
TBH, both these pedals sound great but the LDO wins cos it has more balls to the tone and more overall volume too.

white coily cable of what now?

the luther is cleaner with chords, but the Landgraff is fatter and cooler with the single notes

gmd is awesome, but the landgraff did sound better to my ears...

BTW - those pedals are definitely nice pals...when they play together, they are unstoppable...like the Wonder Twins, only fuzzier...

So...where is Loud Luther vs. Luther vs. Lothar?
jotakabe13 1 year ago
What the heck was wrong with the Luther at 4:04? Was it going into Fuzz land?

At some point around 4:40 and 5:30 the luther sounds almost like a fuzz pedal.

better bass in the landgraff...
It sounds fuller.

sounds like the loud mod isn't loud enough for the landgraff!

My clear coats always come out like that to some extent. Painting the box is the hardest part of building pedals.
