Forgot one feture!(this thing becomes better and better!) by switching the nubs on his upper arms, you can change the arm swingy thingy into rotating forarms, making it hella effective with the swords and mace!

I got this toy when I was a child (about seven or eight) and I still have him! I'm ninteen! :-D

Also I recently discovered if you take those black things on his upper arms and click them up (or down, don't remember which direction) his arms will start swinging at the biceps rather then the shoulders.

I can't believe I've only just stumbled across your reviews, truly chortleworthy, and most definitely subbed!

After 13 years, I finally managed to get hold of this guy the other week. I remember coveting this figure when it first appeared in the Argos catalogue (£14.97, if I remember right). But alas, I was thirteen and MUCH too cool to be buying toys!

Wonderful figure, so happy I managed to track it down (and in such good condition, too).

Beast Mode! Did you know the arm mechanisms can be switched to spinning the forearms instead? That's what those little black nubs on his upper arms are for. Make him spin that flail like a pro! Also, I notice one of his knees is unpainted.

there are some little black switches on his arms, just underneath his shoulder pads that allow you to change his arms from swinging to spinning.

And you can flick the switches on the biceps to change the flailing motion to a spinning type motion! Comes in handy (no pun intended) with the death metal mace.

Yeah I was surprised how cool the toy was when I got it too. Seeing your review makes me think how cool an updated figure that tried to faithfully reproduce this Optimus Primal could be. I mean, sure he might be garbage if they blow it, but given that a what, nearly 15 year old toy is this awesome, think what all the engineering improvements might mean. At the very least, might we get the same great robot without the questionable arm gimmick but with a pose able beast mode?

Nice! I never got into the BW Ultra Leaders, I much prefer the smaller Robot Masters repaints from the Telemocha line. I'm not much of a fan of any of the early BW figures though.

I remember in first school we were sitting on the carpet listening to a story teacher was telling us. I was too busy playing. She took Kup away from me. I don't think I ever got it back.
